Love the beautiful lake where you can also rest and relax on a bench or picnic table to take in all the nature around you. Love the fact that they have emergency stations all around with AED machines and around the lake with rescue flotation devices. Definitely was built with a child safety mindset as many kids playing sports at the park etc. Park is clean and well maintained all around. Parking is a plenty but can get packed and busy with local sports in play.

Excellent park offers baseball and soccer fields as well as tennis and basketball courts all very well kept. Bathrooms are clean and safe. There are also playgrounds and climbing areas for the kids and gazebos to celebrate birthdays. Classic family oriented Coral Springs vibe. Plenty of green areas and there are nice lake areas. Safety is always first in Coral Springs, you can find life vest stations all around the lake areas and AED and CPR stations with photo instructions complete with solar panel. Easy, plenty and convenient parking.

There are poop bags available as well as a clean water fountain for the dogs to get a drink when needed. Each side has a sidewalk path which is very convenient if you have a fit bit and want to get some extra steps in :) There are even benches and covered pavilions for those who want to relax and watch the kids at play. It's honestly a great place to spend some time with your best friend !!

So, I was hoping further out west, it would be sunnier and the rain will take it's time catching up. And thankfully, it did! I was able to enjoy this beautiful new park with my puppies and they had a blast. They got to socialize with new buddies and check out a new spot opposed to their regular spot, they're Yelpers too ;) Anywho, down to the specifics, the park is so well-kept. The park has a little mini parking lot specifically for the dog park (and something else, I can't recall, sorry) which makes the car to park transfer convenient, the parks are well divided by size, separated by gates, essy to enter and exit the gates (makes a big difference when you're holding two puppies), spacious for running, many spots to sniff and snoof, lots of doggy bags, trash cans, and seating areas (benches and a little pavilion), a view of the lake and big dog area...!!! This is the spot if I'm ever in the area and honestly, even if I'm not, it's that good! We'll be back!

The small dog park is located next to the big dog park of which you will need to enter at the same gate. I was told by a local resident, that one of areas is used for unsocialized aggressive dogs. This area also enters the other dog park areas. Recently I had my phone ripped out of my hands by the owner after videoing a dog attack.

The park is just down the street from the Westchester Elementary School and adjacent to Westchester Park. The dog park is named for its sponsor, Dr. Steven G. Paul who dedicated his life to animals and creating this park for the community. Dr. Paul was a veterinary graduate of Ohio State University. He ran two veterinary hospitals and gave public lectures on pet care, wrote newspaper and magazine columns, and appeared on local television to give pet tips. Dr. Paul attended veterinary conference in Massachusetts in 1992 and saw a dog park in Boston Commons. He loved the idea of dogs playing freely and decided to bring the idea back to South Florida. The dog park was built in the mids 90's in the Coral Springs Sportsplex. A non smoker, he lost his battle to lung cancer at the age of 50 on February 7th, 2007. The park restrooms on the outside of the fence, Inside the dog park are two areas, one for small dogs and a much larger open space for the big dogs. New agility equipment and water stations have been added for the dogs and there are benches and shade areas for the people. There are two entrances to the dog park. The one on University Drive is through the Sportsplex. The back entrance is in Westchester Park. I have always enjoyed this dog park. I used to take my Jack Russell once a week for years while my daughter was at karate class. I would walk the path for exercise while he would play and follow along. Now there are signs posted warning to beware of coyotes which have been reported in the area lately. It is nice to know the park is treated monthly for ticks and fleas. This lovely park that is enjoyed by people and their pups is open daily from sunrise to 9 PM.

Instead of enjoying a hard earned retirement from a career as a furniture executive, Burt decided to run for commissioner at the age of 64. He became so influential in politics that people took to calling him The Godfather. Among his many accomplishments was to open the county's Special Olympics athletic and therapeutic center in suburban Lake Worth, supporting a bond issue that provided $100 million to buy land in the county's 20,500-acre Agricultural Reserve, west of Boynton Beach and Delray Beach, founding the Palm Beach International Film Festival, and cutting more than $70 million off the fees that residents in the unincorporated areas paid for garbage service. He was champion of the environment and was instrumental in preventing the Site One Landfill. Burt Aaronson passed away in 2018 at the age of 90 but his legacy still looms large in south Palm Beach County. The land that the park sits on was purchased by Palm Beach County on March 28, 1977. The original 816 acres has now been expanded to 872 acres with several entrances to the park. The park was developed in phases, first in 1996 and more recently in 2008 with the construction of the Sunset Cove Amphitheater. This park has many amenities including four lighted baseball fields, two lighted basketball courts, a nearly five mile long bicycle path, a boat launch, community center, dog park, eight exercise stations, racquetball courts, playground, six pickleball courts, picnic pavilions with grills and tables, practice putting green and driving range, tennis center, two sand volleyball courts, Coconut Cover Waterpark, and the Daggerwing Nature center with two half mile long boardwalk trails. This is one of my favorite parks in south Florida and I have been coming here for more than twenty years. When my daughter was young I used to take her and her friends to the waterpark several times a year. The small sized water park perfect for kids 12 and under. They have two water slides, a lazy river, a splash playground and a pool. In later years I came back to the waterpark with different camp groups and I always enjoyed the lazy river. Today the part of the park you are most likely to find me in is the Daggerwing Nature Center. Sometimes you can spot an alligator in the water below when you cross the boardwalk but you are more likely to spot some turtles. The nature center does a very nice Earth Day celebration every year and I love the butterfly garden in the front that is always filled with many different kinds of butterflies. One of my favorite park memories is getting to see Imagine Dragons at the Sunset Cove Amphitheater with my daughter in 2013 in support of their first album. I actually have so many great memories here. This is a park that truly has something for everyone whether you are into sports, nature, or play. This is a park worth driving out of your way for.

See if you can be the next Anthony Rizzo? Diamonds! Prefer to just "accidentally" jog a lap and call it marathon training? The walking trail is a mile and a half--perfect distance to earn that snack from the concession stand without breaking too much of a sweat. Parents, the playgrounds here are basically kid energy vacuums. Bring them in bouncing off the walls, take them home napping in the car. Win-win. And sometimes, if you're lucky, you'll catch live music at the amphitheater. It's like a mini Tortuga... if Tortuga had free parking and no sand! Speaking of parking--there's plenty, which is rare enough in South Florida to deserve its own round of applause. Honestly, Pine Trails is the kind of park that makes you forget you're in suburbia. Five stars, but could go to six if they ever add a margarita machine to the walking trail.
