I went to this park for a dog adoption event. I brought my two dogs to this event and found it such a cool experience. It was a super hot day so I couldn't be there that long as I wanted to because I have two pugs. I really wanted to have my dogs drawn by the caricaturist but she was already leaving for the day. I loved that the dog park is divided between the smaller dogs and the heavier dogs. There is a basketball court and a nice walking trail as well. I event was nice because it is to promote dogs to get adopted. They had nice giveaways for dog owners but would have liked if they had more dog vendors. The parking is free and is close to the park.

In short: beautifully updated park and playground for kids/adults alike. This review is based off two experiences. Coming with my son for the last two years and attending a birthday party here at one of their gazebos. They updated their children's playground a couple of years back and it's just so amazing. My only qualm is I wish it had some sort of fencing for my mom anxiety. The playground has areas for all ages, even a small slide for toddlers and babies :) The gazebos here have ample space for birthday parties. I'm not sure about the rental process but I do believe it was fairly simple for my friend. Athletic activities: two basketball courts,a sand volleyball court, 6 tennis courts (with private lessons advertised :) and a walking trail that has various body weight workouts posted. There's ample parking and the area is kept clean (including the bathrooms) I would highly recommend for adults and kiddies

I have been bringing my dog to this park for quite sometime and she loves it. I love that while she is busy running around i can walk around and do some cardio myself it's definitely very spacious and it's never been too packed either best part I've noticed it's usually the same people and I've never had any issues with any of the dogs.

Offering a host of great amenities Firefighters Park is a wonderful fresh air venue for the residents of Margate. As you drive in to the park you pass the firefighters memorial, a bronze statue of a firefighter holding a child. Around the base of the statue are memorial bricks representing firefighters and police. The statue was dedicated in 1996. There are benches surrounding the statue so you can pause and reflect. Once you enter the park you can see the many athletic courts. Tennis, basketball, sand volleyball, and artificial turf soccer are offered. There is also a playground and community game room. At the back of the park is the Safety Town, an area where elementary school children can visit to learn fire and water safety from police, firefighters, and swim coaches. Other park amenities include a half mile jogging running track with exercise stations, restrooms, and pavilions for rent. With so much to do there is something for everyone at this park. This is a wonderful place to allow residents of Margate to get outside and get moving.

I don't know why that I live right by a park and don't use it!? Well, at least until now. Firefighters Park is a small park located here in Margate which features a walking trail, basketball courts, playground, grill for barbecuing and more. The park is well lit which helps me out since i typically walk there at night. One thing i remember that I don't see anymore; they used to have a lot of workout stops for you to do random exercises on the trail but I think a lot of been removed. The park also has a parking lot for those driving here as well as a court which I actually think is a tennis court but also for soccer? For me, it's clean. It feels safe and it closes at 10pm so there is not reason for me not to use something like this in my neighborhood.

It is a very nice park. The basketball court is nice but the kids at the playground like to steal your ball

So glad some friends told us about this place awhile back when we were talking about places to take the grandkids in the future. But even if you're just a kid at heart, You may want to visit here. Wear your bathing suit. It's easy to find. And there's ample free parking out front. Mid week when we stopped by it wasn't very busy. But if I had kids, I'd be here every weekend -- especially in our recent hot weather. First and foremost is the interactive water/splash pad. So many machines spraying water, buckets dumping, etc etc. The three kids there were squealing with joy and excitement. Such fun. There's also a story walk/trail for children with various stops plus a regular walking trail. A covered playground with equipment for kids. A Volleyball sand court; basketball court; grills; picnic areas... all with a large swath of green grass in the middle -- perfect for events/concerts. On the south end is the canal C-14 with a fishing pier. More "waters edge" as in the name. And also for adults, there's a covered area right near the water with all sorts of gym/exercise equipment. Don't know what more you could want except maybe a few more resting benches along the main trail for the older folks... Go check it out. Bring the kids.

I have driven past it many times and curious to what it is about. It's a simple park , quiet and tranquil Despite the location. I came with my son, my friend and her daughter. There are so no playgrounds/stations for kids but they still loved it. It was beautiful. At one point on the walking trail there was a large bush that was drawing in a handful of butterflies. So lovely. My son is 8 and he has asked to go back multiple times.

In the 1980's when the Oriole Homes Corporation was developing the Country Place residential community on the north side of Holmberg Road in Parkland they offered to buy something to decorate the park and make it memorable for the residents of the new community. Parkland Commissioners Maryjane Sexton and Bobbi Pugliese wanted something that embodied the country setting so they picked a covered bridge. The bridge was suppose to cross over water but they didn't have any it could span so instead it connects land that runs between two canals. The park was deeded to Parkland on October 18, 1989. There isn't a parking lot for this park since it was designed for use by the people who lived in the community. I parked in the strip mall across the street from Holmberg Rd. and took the short walk up. The park is accessible from Holmberg Road or Hillsboro Boulevard through a tree lined trail on the west side of Winners Circle. The trail runs between the canal and apartments and it connects Covered Bridge Park to 6-acre Park off of Hillsboro Boulevard. I love a covered bridge and this park is so tranquil. In addition to the lovely bridge perfect for photos and as a backdrop for picnics, the hiking trail that runs between the two parks is wonderful for getting exercise. On my stroll I saw turtles, butterflies, and birds. This is just another reason why the name of Parkland is perfect for this picturesque city.
