Living like, a minute away is super awesome, makes this place killer convenient. Since it's a dog park, I am going to be brief and concise. The bad: -Closed 12-3 on wednesdays for maintenance. Yes, as I am well aware, this is quite necessary, and I guess they assume the height of the day is when people are busy. But they could also do it at like 7 on a monday morning. -The people. It being Boca, one of the worst things about this park is that it attracts all types of irresponsible dog owners who have aggressive dogs and are clearly in denial of it. If your dog is a larger puppy still too small for the big dogs, you will without a doubt encounter neurotic weirdos who will, besides shock you with their lack of knowledge of dogs, but likely shame you out with accusations that your puppy (who is obviously playful) is attacking their four-hundred year old shih tzu. People have no problem getting vocal, as Ive definitely heard some human fights escalate. But the death glares are equally effective. Then there are the guys who "don't believe in neutering their male dogs", but yet, insist on bringing them to the dog park. Of course they don't feel similarly about female dogs, but then again, I believe human males should be sterilized as well, so... In all seriousness though, this is stipulated on the rules posted at the door, and if you have any common sense at all, you wouldn't want to be at the dog park with a huge pit bull and his pit balls = unpredictable. This is a nice, expansive park, with plenty of room to even just take your dog for a walk or running, but at the same time, you should also be diligently aware, as the biggest liability are the irresponsible owners.

Under the gazebo at the small dog park. Plenty of room and benches

Great location though far from everything. You gotta make this spot a mission to go here, but a well worthy pit stop if you're in the area.

I enjoy going to this dog beach- but quite a few negatives. 1. Not TOO big of an area for the dogs…read moreto play on (between 2 lifeguard stands) 2. Very restricted hours and days (Fri, Sat, Sun) of when you can be on the beach (and they WILL enforce those days/hours) 3. You have to pay for entrance (a HASSLE to go buy a weekend/monthly/yearly pass, AND expensive). This dog beach is veryyyyy Boca. Other than that, the water and sand are always clean, it's easy to find, parking is always available at close-by meters, and the dogs are usually friendly and obedient.

Boca dog beach!!!! I hate to have to give a 3 star review…read morebut WOW @ the price change to get into Spanish River Park aka Boca Dog Beach... $11.00 per dog & $20.00 to park! EH! I think that the ocean should be free but to each their own opinions. Better option is to find parallel parking IF you can. Anyways, pay $20 to park in the dedicated parking lot, pay your $11/dog for your dog passes, & then walk through the long tunnel into the beach, you can only go left once entered the beach with your dogs, must show your tickets/"dog pass" to whatever security guard that is at the beach entrance, should be a very quick ordeal and go about your business. Extremely packed beach, packed with a TON of dogs, very oddly enough, not everyone in the dog beach is "dog friendly" so keep an eye on your dog. Best deal is to come towards closing (for the sunset & the heat decrease) especially if you weren't planning on spending the entire day.

I have been coming to this dog park for years and I have had fun but I have also seen a lot of bad…read moredoggie behavior and indifference by pet owners. I finally stopped coming because some people were not watching their dogs as closely as they should. The worst incident I saw happened when a bike rider was going past the fence. A dog pulled off the leash a man was holding and leaped up and ripped her arm open. After that I was done. The problems of the past seem to be over with the new renovation of the dog park. You must register your pet now in order to use it. Registration is $35 for Coconut Creek residents and $70 for non residents. There are separate parks for large and small dogs. The city has added wash stations and agility equipment for the dogs. The park is lovely since it borders a lake and there are over 60 trees providing shade. Water fountains, benches, and a wash station were also added. Keeping your pet safe is a security fence surrounding the entire dog park. Right now only around 150 dog owners have signed up so the park is never crowded. The park is closed on Tuesdays for maintenance. The iconic windmill of the park has now been moved to the inside of the dog park and a lot of landscaping was added. The renovation of the dog park was part of a 3 million dollar Windmill park renovation. Parking used to be dicey but not anymore as the parking lot has been expanded to twice it's size. A new playground has been also added for human kids. Furry kids can be registered at the Community Center up the street on Lyons Road. Once you pay you are given a FOB to enter the dog park fence.

They have a nice office right at the entrance of the park and a two dual port EV charging stations. Both the small and large dog parks are roughly 3⁄4 of an acre each. Exclusive amenities include private dog wash stations, attached restrooms, agility equipment, pavilions, 6-foot wide sidewalks, water fountains, benches, security fencing, and over 60 trees for shading. Usual opening hours are 8am to dusk, but check their website for updates. Renovated in September of 2019, Windmill Park is a fully customized, family-oriented, and pet-friendly environment. Located on Lyons Road north of Atlantic Boulevard, besides the dog park, Windmill Park offers pickleball courts, tennis courts, racquetball courts, sand volleyball courts, basketball courts, walking path, and a covered playground.
