Saw their ad on craigslist. Over the years all I've purchased is used office chairs from places like Liberty, so I have a general idea of what things should be valued at. After navigating through some of the most run down parts of San Jose to get there, we arrived at a driveway half blocked by an electricians truck. The parking lot was nearly full. We saw a man working outside and asked if we could park behind the forklift, he said yes so we did, but much of the parking lot was taken up by Liberty's inventory, a hodgepodge of office furniture, patio furniture, and what looked like psychiatric hospital rubber foam couches. You could only tell it was them from a worn out sign out front. We made our way inside to a warehouse stuffed to the brim with used office furniture. The first chair my wife liked she sat in. She asked the woman how much. "$450, it's a genuine Herman Miller, normally $1200 on their site" "Let's go" my wife said, and we walked out. Looking at the Herman Miller site, it's not the Aeron which is the closest chair styled to the web back/seat chair we were looking at. It might be a model a few years older, which means it's not worth 1/3rd of what the latest model is worth. I'm not sure where this egregious pricing comes from. $160 tops from the places I would go to. That being said, my wife said she'll just buy a chair off amazon. I suppose Liberty's warehouse will continue to pile up, especially considering the incoming economic downturn which will have these things literally being thrown out on the curb. read more

I just can't find many positives about this place. Parking is terrible. But the only thing worse than trying to find parking is trying to find anything inside the warehouse. It's a big mess. Service is minimal to non-existent. There's one lady behind a desk playing solitaire on the computer, but that's it. We walked around a bit and left. There are better places to shop. read more

My friend recommended I check this place as she found a chair she liked after physically trying them out. I arrived and there was one parking spot open. I parked and walked into this large warehouse space. I echoed a loud hello and someone behind a desk returned the hello. I looked at rows of endless chairs and asked for recommendations. He asked for my price range and we started looking. I tried a few chairs but seem like a small and limited amount till he said he had sold one at a price I liked and asked if I wanted to check it out. He knew the names of the chairs, the brands, what they can do etc. Super knowledgeable. He shared how they acquire their chairs and while most look like used chairs being resold they are all in good condition. I tried out the chair and it was comfy I had picked my chair. My kiddo shopped around a bit more and made up his mind on one of their best sellers. We purchased both chairs and Gregory helped us put the chairs in my car. After having already visited 2 other stores that morning, I was desperately hoping Liberty Liquidators would have what I needed. I arrived to the warehouse a little before 10am, which is their listed opening time. Ended up waiting until around 1030 for someone to arrive to open up. Not a big deal, but I was on a time crunch so I was really feeling the pressure. Finding places that have inventory to accommodate a quantity of 10 for one specific chair was difficult, but they made it easy. They even lowered the price a little bit due to how many we were buying. They also cleaned and dropped the chairs off to their destination within 2 business days. Overall, a great experience. I came in here 30 minutes before closing today (Saturday) and the folks there were very helpful in answering my questions. The owner, I'm assuming, waiting for me to go out and get cash from a nearby bank, and I came back at 2:59pm, a minute before closing. They helped me out anyway. They made sure the specific chair I bought was in good working shape before wrapping it up in plastic (it was raining) and loading into my truck. Wow, love this place! Visited a few stores in the area but this was the best in terms of selection. Hector was super helpful and he has a wonderful selection of stand up desks (and just about anything else one could want in an office). Desks are priced competitively and you can customize it - my husband took like an hour to look at all the bases and the separate tops and they put it together. The place looks a little sketchy from the street, but don't let that put you off. It isn't really like a store with inventory arranged and prices marked. At least when I visited looking for a chair it was a mass of chairs and other furniture and a guy pointing at various ones and saying "tell me how much you want to spend." Purely by accident I got a great Herman Miller chair for a fraction of the retail price, and my back feels 100% better. I went based on the excellent reviews. I was very disappointed when I got there. The furniture was stacked on top of each other up to the rafters, you cannot tell what they have. I looked around for a while and saw a couple of desks (for my home office.). Didn't see what I was looking for, the stock is piled on top of each other so who knows what was there. Finally asked the lady that was sitting at a desk that she was very hidden. Asked if there were any desks and was told nope no desks only tables. She said it so dismissively that I said ok, thanks anyway. BTW you do have desks but thanks anyway. I got a Steelcase Leap V2 chair from here. Staff here is nice. I called in to check if the chair was there and then came to pick it up. Prices are very fair. My chair was in good condition. I looked at the other chairs as well and they were in good condition. One of the workers also helped me carry the chair into my car. I would definitely come back here if I need another chair. Although they did not have all the chairs on-hand, they were acquired for us very quickly with no extra prompting required by me. We worked with Craig, who was well able to demonstrate chair's 'bells-and-whistles' to our assistant and was able to identify and acquire the size chair necessary for each individual's needs (i.e., one 'A', one 'C, and five 'B').
