Spoke with Rachel and she was very informative and pleasant. Rachel said someone would call us Monday and let us know if the people that put the deposit on the 2025 were still taking the machine. We called Monday three times to find out if the machine was available and each time someone was to call us back-nobody did. Tuesday same thing-three calls someone will get back-nobody did. Called Wednesday and got Jen. Told her wanted to know if the 2025 was sold or not and she said it was. Told her we were very unhappy that in three days no one had time to return our call to find out if the 2025 was available. Was told we should have some compassion because her family comes first -her daughter got married that weekend and she was busy and had to catch up at work. I said still no reason that someone couldn't take 2 minutes to let us know if the machine was available. Told her you just lost a sale of the 2026 we put the deposit on because of no call back and her attitude blaming us because we thought three days was a long time for a call back. Was told from her that they didn't need our business. Asked to talk to a manager and she said she was the manager so I asked to talk to the owner and she said she was the owner which I questioned if she was and she hung up on me. Very poor customer relation person. She acted like we were asking too much expecting a call back and to be sympathetic because she had a wedding and I had no compassion!! What kind of business "owner" does this?

Savage Motor Sportz just charged him almost what we spent for his electric kick scooter just to put one tire on! We had spent $350 on that scooter last year but after a few tire punctures so recently bought solid tires for it. My husband had trouble putting one of them on so we brought it here and were told when we had to leave it there that the cost is usually $40. When he got a ride to pick it back up today, they charged him $280 +tax!! Any holiday money we had this year has now been spent to put one tire on!

I brought my sons go kart in for repairs and after taking a look at it and trying everything it was becoming clear that to repair this go kart (which was purchased elsewhere) I would have to buy a new engine. They were very honest and upfront about everything, after discussion and research on my part, they offered to take the go kart for parts and charged me nothing. Now mind you a lot of work went into it before this decision was made, and they still made the offer because they didn't feel comfortable allowing my son to drive it. Nowadays customer service is mostly non existent but at savage they put you first and are willing to work with you so that you leave happy and safe.

The Devil's Gear is a bicycle shop that opened in New Haven, Connecticut in 2001. It was founded by…read morelocal artist and cyclist Matthew Feiner. After seeing the need for a community bike shop in New Haven, Feiner used the last $600 in his bank account to open his own shop. It originally opened in a cramped old Wooster Square factory space at 433 Chapel Street. For his new shop, Feiner chose the name "The Devil's Gear" as a reference to the 1988 Paris-Nice stage race. The French press said that Irish cyclist Sean Kelly was riding "the devil's gear". In addition to selling bicycles, the shop also hosts bike tours, maintenance clinics and weekly training rides. The shop has made a number of moves over the years: first to 151 Orange Street, then down the street to 137 Orange, and finally to their current location at 845 Chapel Street. In 2018, longtime employees John Brehon and Greg Ledovsky came on board as co-owners of the shop. Feiner later stepped down due to medical reasons, but Brehon and Ledovsky continue to build on the foundation and legacy that he left behind. In 2021, Brehon and Ledovsky decided to start selling skateboards at the shop too. Local skateboarder J. Joseph came on board to handle the skateboard department. I've been doing business with the Devil's Gear for well over 10 years. When I first became interested in cycling, I went there to get all of my cycling accessories and helpful tips. I still ride a 2013 Jamis Satellite Sport road bike in a beautiful Tiger's Eye finish which I bought from the shop. I take it back to the shop every year for my annual tune-up. In addition to all of their great products and services, The Devil's Gear does a lot for the local cycling community. They have provided all of the technical support for Smilow Cancer Hospital's Closer to Free Ride for several years. I'm about to start training for my seventh consecutive CTF Ride. Whether you've been cycling for several years or you're just looking to get into cycling, you should definitely head down to The Devil's Gear!
