He rebuilt it from scratch with cedar planks and added the ventilation grilles, new trim, and handle. It fits perfectly and it completely transformed the exterior of the house. Every other contractor said to go buy one and cut it down but that wouldve made the door weaker. The attention to detail was relieving. Didn't have to tell him EXACTLY what to do and check on him. Minde is an artist. Every now and then, you get someone you really like. Last thing, on price he was very competitive. Not the highest, but not low balling either. They explained it's normal since the railing is custom fabricated on site (not one solid piece), and similar to others in the neighborhood.
