Went here today and was disappointed with the pedicure I received. There was a scuff on one of my nails which I didn't notice until i was ready to put my sandals on. I asked for it to be fixed. The woman proceeded to then remove the defective area only. She then polished over top, leaving the polish looking uneven on the toe. For $32, I expect better. I will not be returning. I went to this location about a month ago for a manicure and pedicure. We were moving to Vancouver island so I wanted to get them done before we moved. I had been there before and had an okay experience. This time not so much. I had made an appointment but obviously that didn't matter. My pedicure was rushed. I think the lady doing my pedicure was actually the receptionist who sometimes helped out when needed. When removing the dead skin from my heels etc she wasn't even using the buffer properly. The gal that did my pedicure must have been trying out for a race. Very quick and sloppy. If your too busy for your customers, let them know. the lady who was doing my nails sanded them wayy too far, she peeled some of the skin from under my nail off and there tips of my nails were vet uneven. the french tips are messy/uneven as well, there is a lot of residue from the polish unfortunately. the polish got smudged and she fixed it with her hands after touching a grown man's toes without washing her hands. I decided to give place another chance, after many months of not going to get a mani-pedi done. Envy, was my nail technician - she did my pedicure and Oh my goodness... she did an amazing job. She was thorough and took her time removing my cuticles, giving me an incredible leg massage and stone massage. I'm going to keep asking for her in the future. My only tip is- go first thing in the morning. Be there at 10am SHARP! I walked in the salon simultaneously as all the nail technicians, and I kid you not - within 35 minutes there were 6 people sitting on the pedicure lazy-boys and 8 people getting their nails done, and 3-4 more people waiting on the couches. So set your alarms early and run to Lexi nails because you don't want to waste your time waiting. I paid $47 for both full manicure and pedicure - and with a 20% tip, it came up to $57. Lexi Nails is my go-to place for nail services. The price is decent and they take walk-ins which is great for someone like me who always forgets to make appointments until it's too late. Since I'm basically always a walk-in, I've gotten my nails done by whoever was free and available at the moment. The acrylic nails I get always end up looking nice, but depending on who you get... many times I've gotten my cuticles cut by the spinning tool they used... and I've also gotten the bedding underneath my nails cut to a point of bleeding as well. There are also times when I come out totally unharmed. Which is why I'm giving it three stars because it's a hit or miss in term of pain caused. Recently they've been doing some remodelling to the store. They're always playing music that sounds rather tropical and spa-like. On Tuesdays, you get 10% off Mani and Pedi. However, acrylic-fills / anything to do with acrylic is not included in the promotion. I've gone there in the mornings, afternoon, and late-afternoons. The mornings are typically not too busy, however there are less technicians working so if there's a bit more customers then you'll need to wait. I just got my nails done yesterday and didn't even last long when I came home. I sent the photos to the owner name Vivian and she wants me to come to fix it. I told her I can't coz I'm working till January 5 th straight shift as we are short staff. Vivian doesn't want to give the money back and pissed me off because she wants to me to leave off at work just to come in her salon to fix it. This is ridiculous! 3.5 stars (rated 4 because they were nice) Don't expect high quality ambience/service here. I made an appointment for gel nails with extensions because there was a 10% off graduation special. I'm a little confused because I specifically asked for gel nails and the lady did two of my nails with acrylic before I reminded her. She said she did acrylic because it would be cheaper for me (not sure if she was assuming I didn't have money, or if she was genuinely trying to help me save money), but i insisted on gel. I also asked for them to push/cut my cuticles and they said they'd do it after, and they never did. As I'm looking at my nails now, some areas (like near the un-pushed cuticle and sides) have less gel and the colour looks streaky/faded there. The extensions I got were cut and filed a bit unevenly as well. Everyone seemed rushed there, even though there weren't too many customers waiting. ~$55 was my total including tax and tip. I might come back here with more specific requests (I suggest you do the same if you come here) as the girls don't speak English too well and are a bit difficult to communicate with. read more

i have been going to lexi for a few years, on and off. with their service, it has always been a hit or miss for me. i went to get my acrylics for prom done here, and because it was my first time getting acrylics, i had NO idea how botched they really were until they grew out and a friend pointed them out. it was lumpy and the shape of the nails were uneven. the past few years, i have switched between lexi nails and specialty nails on ackroyd (i recommend that place over lexi any day). lexi nails has been my last resort nail salon and i only go there if i'm desperate, because they have decent prices and it's a 5 minute walk away from my house. every time i get my acrylics done, my nails are SORE for the next day or so because of how rough they file your nails. i thought this was normal until i went to other salons, and left pain free. my recent visit to lexi nails, i had broken my acrylic nail at work. because it was already late in the day, i decided it was too late to visit another salon, so i walked into lexi. it was a tuesday, which was my first mistake. every tuesday, they have a promo for 10% off manicure/pedicures (something like that). the place was PACKED, and i had to wait 30 minutes to get a seat. that one was my bad, for going on their busiest day. i go to my seat, and i'm getting my acrylics filled and my nail fixed. i'm pretty sure i had the owner to do my nails (i didnt take her name because she barely talked to me), but every two minutes she would get up to answer the phone. because i was getting a fill, she didnt really change the length or the shape, except when it came to the new nail she fixed, i noticed she had barely shaped it and it looked more rectangular than coffin. the second she slapped the top coat on, i asked her to file the nail more to look more like rest of my nails. after halfhearted strokes of the file, she asked if it was okay. IT STILL LOOKED THE SAME. i said no, can you maybe do it a bit more? she lightly files again. "it's okay now?" no. it still looks rectangular. i sigh, deciding to file it myself when i get home. she clearly wants to be done with me and get me out the door. after i had paid and left, i noticed that once again, a couple of my nails were LUMPY. out of the handful of times i've been to lexi, i have definitely left unsatisfied more than satisfied. i've given this place many chances to prove me wrong, and i have yet to see them do so. read more

I have come to Lexi nails over and over and each time the product was TERRIBLE!! I came for a fill - it was lumpy and rushed. The fill was all over the edges of my nails. I had to file them and fix the edges because it hurt my skin. Two nails broke within a week. Garbage! The second time I came to a pedicure and gel polish. The skin was still rough and the gel wore off in the first week. It was clearly not gel- despite being charged for it!! Garbage! Finally I had lash extension. Man what a night mare. I have been getting acrylic and gel nails done for over 10yrs. Mainly because I always had an issues with nail polish peeling off my natural nails and not because my nails did not grow out. We came in with an appointment for 3 pedicures and manicures at 1:00pm. After being ignored for 15 mins, they let us know that they had 3 seats available however they were nowhere near each other. We opted to wait. After waiting for approximately 30 mins two of us got started while the third had to wait another 20 mins before anyone attended her. The work itself was fine and the pricing is very reasonable, however having to sit there for 2 hours for a pedicure and manicure (they even made me air dry) and watching others wait for nearly 45 mins before anyone attended to them left a bad taste in my mouth. I went to have my gel nails removed and, for some bizarre reason, the nail technician used the electric file on my nails until there was no polish, soaked the nails in acetone and then electric filed again! I have never seen a technician do that. Now my nails are thin and have clear electric file marks. I was better off taking the gel polish off myself. I called for a last minute appointment today and asked if I could come in at 615 for a full set of acrylics (they close at 7) and they said yes so I thought it was ok. I got a French tip manicure with gold glitter on 6 on my nails. First of all she didn't do the right color/design I asked for. She started painting my whole nail but all I wanted was a French tip so I had to correct her and I really don't like confrontation or telling people how to do their jobs. When I said I wanted that she said she couldn't do that color for French tip?? It was a cloudy white... makes no sense. Moving on it was about 6:55 at this point and I was the only customer left in the salon. There were 4 employees there still and they all stood around me in their jackets looking like they were ready to go. They were just watching her do my nails and I felt very uncomfortable as I knew they were closed at this point. One of the girls started to help her paint my nails to speed up the process and I kept apologizng for this taking so long although it was not at all my fault. If you wanted to be gone by 7 then u shouldn't have let me book an appointment for 615, I would be happy to come at a more convientnt time. They were also talking and I couldn't understand but I couldn't help but feel as if things were being said about me and I was extremely uncomfortable. I felt as if I shouldn't be there anymore and it was clear they were eager to get out of there. But again, don't book me in for 615 if you know my appointment will take at least an hour and you want to be gone by 7. Lastly I went to pay and usually a full set is $50-$55 and she goes "ok that will be $78." Ummmm for what?? A French tip with a little bit of gold glitter. Ridiculous. I had gotten this gold glitter before and they didn't even charge me for it. I was expecting it to be 5 or so extra dollars but $25???? I just don't understand why the price was so high for a regular French tip with a small detail added. They also didn't tell me that there was as extra charge or else I wouldn't have gotten it. They were all standing around ready to go and I felt as if I needed to leave plus I was so done so I just paid and left. I've read some other reviews and it seems like this same thing regarding charging a price that wasn't disclosed with the customer is happening to other people which is absolutely not ok. Sometimes I hate my nails and sometimes I really like them but going in you never know what you're going to get. Went in to remove my gel nails had the worst experience of my life. All the ladies cared about was going home. They barely removed the polish before asking me to soak my nails in acetone. Then not even 2 minutes later they tried to scrape it off, of course that didn't work. Being impatient, they decided to use the machine to sand it off, while my nails were still wet with acetone. Acetone and gel polish starts flying everywhere, all over my arms, shoulder and INTO MY EYE!! I can't believe even after such a fiasco, they didn't take the time to properly remove the nails - they only removed 9/10 of the nails. I am horrified that such careless people are in the guest service industry, I will never return. I have gone to this salon off and on for years. It is very inconsistent, but this last time is the last. After paying to get fill, less than two weeks later 1 cracked and one nail snapped off. The main reason for me never going back is less about the ridiculous fact they made me pay AGAIN for the nails to be redone when they should have put enough powder on that it was strong enough to last for at least 2 WEEKS! ( And I wonder if this is another way they make more money) My nails are not long and normally I have no problem. What makes me never go back is the fact that they didn't tell me of the charge. They are NOT allowed to charge you for services without your prior approval. They cannot "add" costs in without your consent. When I had originally got my nails done there, I specifically asked what is the TOTAL price for the nails and the lady who did them, while she was putting on the top coat mind you, tells me , "Oh, I forgot, this costs extra $5". Yet I had asked her what the TOTAL price would be before she even started. Now, I paid the extra $5 then, but I am tired of these"extra" charges that they try to give you AFTER they have already done it. This self righteous crap and hidden charges is unlawful. All they have to do is tell the person the cost, but it seems like they wait until after and then what the"think" the charge should be.
