Parking is an absolute mess, especially in January/February when everyone's trying to keep those resolutions going. Signing up for classes on the app is a mystifying experience -- I try to sign up a few days early, and the app says I can't sign up yet; then I sign up just before class, and it says I'm too late. So I rarely/never sign up for classes -- this doesn't seem to be a deal-breaker. I am really into dance fitness, though, and if you ever go on a Tuesday evening and see Disney World-style lines wrapped around the building, you know that Jay is teaching "So You Think You Can't Dance." I don't know how to adequately express how wonderful these classes are. Come in whatever mood you're in, and you'll leave with a smile on your face. His dance class has been seriously life changing for me, and I'm so grateful to have them at Crunch!

In my gym going experience, it was/is constantly overcrowded during those times. I signed up for Crunch to be able to take the workout classes - The only time of day where I was able to take these classes were in the evening times. The Legendary Strength class with Coach Blue was by far the most challenging and upbeat class. Highly recommend his class for anyone looking for a tough and fabulous workout! Unfortunately, I took most of my classes with Charmaine. I was really disappointed with my experience in classes led by this instructor. She was constantly off, beat and off tempo, which made it difficult to follow along - especially in a group setting where timing is important. The music was also blasting so loudly over her mic that it was hard to hear any of her cues or instructions. On top of that, Charmaine rarely demonstrated the exercise clearly, so I often wasn't sure if I was doing the movements correctly. Overall, her classes felt confusing and frustrating, I didn't feel like I was getting a safe or productive workout. In my opinion, other instructors in the gym were much better, but my experience with Charmaine as an instructor was constantly disappointing.

This is the best facility and group of coaches I've been around. I'd estimate the place is 10,000 sq feet. They have a massive mat area. They are installing padded wall and heavy bags now . All of the mma and Muay Thai coaches are active fighters who know what they are doing. They aren't teaching theory here, they teach how to fight. But honestly, I've been walking past for a while, looking through the window saying "I need to try this", and I finally went in. From the moment I walked in, everyone was super nice. I got checked in by Maliq, and he took me over to get started. He asked about my problem areas and what I had going on, and then got right to work. Now listen... I had no idea how NOT flexible I was. Baby, I am not a spring chicken anymore but he was very patient with me the whole time. It was definitely a no judgment zone, which I appreciated. He made me feel comfortable, and the stretch itself? Oh, it was stretching stretching. Not painful, but that good kind of stretch where you know it's doing something. Afterwards, they did go over pricing and packages, but there was no pressure at all, which I really liked. It felt like he genuinely cared about what he was doing and not just trying to make a sale. I ended up leaving with a 50-minute intro session, so we'll see how that goes in a couple of weeks. But I will say I walked out feeling more mobile than when I walked in, and that alone says a lot. I feel like if I stay consistent, I'll definitely gain more mobility and flexibility, which honestly we all need... no matter your age. The facility was very clean, and I noticed they wiped everything down thoroughly after each person, which is always a plus. I didn't get any pictures this time, but I will when I go back. My daughter was with me and ended up purchasing a 50-minute intro package too. Overall 10/10, I would highly recommend. Just know... I walked in stiff and walked out questioning all my life choices that led to me being that tight but we working on it. Time to get mobile again.

At the time of sign-up, I clearly told the salesperson I only wanted to do three months and want to cancel after that to reevaluate what (if anything) I needed going forward. They smiled, nodded, and assured me it was no problem -- that served as my cancelation notice after my initial 3 months. What they conveniently relied on behind that deceptive smile is you not asking for receipt of that preemptive cancellation request of their auto-renew contract and the mandatory 30-day cancellation notice that has to be submitted on their exact terms. Sure enough, when the three months were up, they acted like none of that conversation ever happened. The charge rolled in: $329 for another month. This isn't just bad customer service; this is a business model built on trapping customers with impossible auto-renewals and hoping you'll give up fighting the endless billing. If their services were great, they wouldn't need contracts and credits. Like my massage therapist, they'd just take your appointment on demand and tell they look forward to seeing you again. But this business knows you won't need them, but they will charge your credit card one more time before you head out the door and tell you there is nothing you can do about it. There is in my case because Amex already refunded me the money and will be addressing this with this con artist company. Let's also address how your monthly charge gives you credits -- credits that expire on a weird 4-week calendar so you lose paid time even when you show up religiously. Once again, if this were an ethical business, you'd just pay for credits that could be used whenever. StretchLab isn't in the stretching business. They're in the recurring-billing-trap business. Save yourself the headache, the money, and the rage. Do not sign up. Do not give them your card. Do not walk through their door. There are plenty of legitimate stretch therapists out there who won't treat your bank account like their personal piggy bank and pretend you just should have paid more attention. If they were ethical, they wouldn't need a 31 day cancelation policy. If they were ethical, they would refund your money when there was any miscommunication-- particularly on their own part! Take a look at the arrogant email in the photo of this review sent to me stating that they will fight the chargeback for those fees. To call this customer service would be their biggest stretch yet. Never again, folks. Run.

I am working on starting a career in law enforcement and need to get into shape to pass the physical. Aside from that it would be great to be fit anyways. I have been having trouble keeping motivated on my own, and also lack the knowledge necessary for good results. My friends from my hometown always told me about crossfit, but I have always been a stubborn do it yourself-er. It took my fitness instructor from the police department telling me that crossfit is the absolute best way to get into shape. So I started looking. After about a month of looking around I found Crossfit Round Rock. I called Landon and got signed up a week later. I have been sore pretty much since then. In just one week, I have already learned so much, and I have to say I can definitely tell I am going to be addicted to the place very soon. Some of the great things about these guys, aside from how friendly they are and how fun they make the workouts, is they can tailor the workouts to any age or fitness level. Before every workout they go up to each of us individually and make sure we understand what we are doing, and make recommendations as to what weight to use, and also make changes to the exercise if your not capable of doing it entirely. They keep you focused and motivated the entire time, and refuse to let you quit. Aside from the workouts they have health seminars that go over the proper nutrition and help you to develop the proper diet to maximize your results. Crossfit is the place to be whether your 18 or 60, an athlete or a couch potato, it doesn't matter. I strongly encourage you to check it out and see for yourself.

I hadn't set foot in a gym for over 2 years and my nutrition was just plain sad. I needed something different than a regular gym. I was looking for a place that would put me through intense workouts that I'd never seen before, a place that held me accountable and kept me motivated, and ultimately a community of people all working towards their fitness goals. I found all of that and more at CFRR. My experience has been amazing. I'm on my fifth full month there going 3 times a week and have dropped 20 lbs and 10% body fat. The workouts are tough but rewarding. Crossfit brings out your competitive spirit which is a big part of my ability to stick with the program and push myself beyond my perceived personal limits . The coaches(Coach Mark especially) and other members are all really great people and it's just an extremely positive place to be. You don't just clock in and clock out like at a normal gym. You show up and compete, work your tail off with other members, set personal records, and then reflect on how you just owned or got owned by the workout of the day. I just can't say enough about it. Do yourself a favor and check it out!

ATX Gym has you covered. It's small, intimate and efficient. From what I've seen, the full spectrum of fitness levels finds a home here from those who could do Olympic lifts in their sleep to those who are just getting their feet wet (me). The classes always have a purpose and a plan but offer a lot of variety. Weightlifting, strength straining, booty building workshops, yoga, stretch, calisthenics, cardio conditioning, HIIT, dance--There's something for everyone. That's key for me personally, as I tend to get bored really fast and lose interest if it's the same thing every day. And the classes are small! No more than 6 people, which is the sweet spot between getting personal training and enjoying the comradery of others. It definitely helped me feel less intimidated, because let's be honest... walking into a group of strangers in unflattering workout clothes not knowing what to expect can be anxiety inducing. Lacey (owner and trainer) was so sweet, warm and welcoming! I felt welcomed immediately by her and the other few people in our group that were super supportive. Lacey and Max are knowledgeable hands-on owners that run their own classes and really invest a lot of time and energy into you. They really took a lot of time and stayed late with me to go over nutrition, set goals, and help me choose what classes would be best for me. Give this bad ass locally owned gym some love!
