It is now being gutted for a complete renovation. The contractor hired Bestway Carting. They had a 40 yard dumpster on the street for a week. This morning at 3:15am they decided to pick up the dumpster. I can't imagine the decision making that goes into this. 3am in the middle of the night, making so much noise that the entire neighborhood is talking about this. Very, very inconsiderate. I would never hire these people. Obviously, money comes before anything.

Sure enough, Junk Away offered the best deal--by far--but also an equally important sense of integrity and reliability. I was calling from hours away to try to help set something up for my parents. Not only did Will appreciate what I was asking for and give me a quick estimate, but he was also incredibly kind, very willing to assist my parents, and a pleasure to talk to. Junk Away is what small business should be all about. I should mention that I've had items hauled away previously. Called the main number and was able to send photographs of all the items we needed to be removed along with requesting a specific timeframe in which we'd like the Junk to be removed. They got back to me the very same day with a few questions via text message and provided me a price and could remove the items in the timeframe we required. Exceptional service answered all our questions ~ box truck arrived timely as they do several pick ups a day from various locations and have to bring the debris to various scrap yards. So any client should understand you will have a timeframe to which they will be arriving setting up and then the box truck arrives and is filled. I bought a new sofa from a nice store in Manhattan. They had…read moreno problem delivering my new sofa... But had no takeaway or removal options for my old, still relatively nice sofabed. Because I live on the top floor of a brownstone, no charitable organization would come... And besides they often don't take sofabeds. So I started pricing various options, the 1-800 corporate junk haulers would charge by floor and a minimum.... Easily 450 bucks. Seriously? So I called John, and he was smart to suggest they do a "Controlled takeaway," which meant they would take the sofa apart and carry the pieces down my five flights, carefully. Best part of the process, John set up an appt. and he showed up on time. He called prior to the time, allowing me ample time to get ready.
