I was on my way to REI when I realized I hadn't eaten breakfast and was ravenous. I looked on Yelp and saw that LetsSweet Kitchen was nearby. But it was packed as it was the lunch hour, so I decided to come back after shopping. When I returned, a group had just left so I got their table. Everything on the menu looked really good. As much as I wanted to order most of their snacks, I decided on getting the chicken and pork jowl rice bowl. I also got their icey grass jelly to refresh myself from all the walking. The chicken and pork bowl was yummy! The chicken had a nice crisp from the skin. And the pork was very flavorful and slightly chewy. It came with a savory sauce that was almost like teriyaki. The grass jelly, which came with coconut milk, was truly refreshing on a sorta hot day and not too sweet. The space is small, but there are plenty of tables to accommodate parties of four. Service was quick and friendly. I need to come back here with friends so we can try multiple items off their snacks menu.
TLDR: Brisket. Wonton. Fish skin. Satay beef noodle. But TBH, no fails. Authenticity where you least expect it. Heck, their satay Beef noodle is better than authentic. I'm almost never in this part of town, then I finally visited, and I'm hooked. My friends as well. And you know you're getting authentic Hong Kong CCT food when you look around and there's not a single simplified Chinese character in sight, and the dedication page of the menu is written in colloquial Cantonese. Basics: The milk tea is good and they also have yin yeung AKA coffee milk tea. Both served in the standard coffee cup of HK. To prove the authenticity, their brisket stew that I got with their thin noodle. The large pieces of soft brisket with its melting connective tissue expressing deep notes of soy, star anise, and other warm spices. A mundane description to any of us Cantonese, yet something few know of outside our culture, and as my friend said, the best in the bay area. The only way for the brisket to get this tender flavorful throughout is hours of slow cooking on the stove, and few competitors come close, or feel as healthy. (There's another good brisket stew shop in San Bruno, but I feel guilty eating there.) And the noodle. These aren't chowmain noodles. It's got a springy bite to it that I haven't experience in any other food. And any time you order a noodle soup here. I fully recommend that you order their fried fish skin as well. Crispy, crunchy, delightful, and perfect for dipping in the soup and soaking up the flavor. You can enjoy them as is too of course, just that, you know, oil. My girl wouldn't stop talking about the rice rolls in the appetizer combo, and while the entire bowl is good, and fundamental to the culture, the slipperiness of the rice roll is quite addictive.** The black pepper beef stir fried macaroni, a recent invention out of HK, was well recreated here, with lots of wok-hey. Well approved by my friend. And in a world of abundance, the little details make a world of difference. Their wontons, for example. Not the biggest, but the wrapper was thin, translucent, and silk. The filling was very shrimpy, with a chef's touch: powdered dried seafood. I believe it was dried and roasted flounder.* That twang made for everything. I get it as an add-on whenever I'm there now. And to see them dressed with yellow chives in the wonton noodle soup, +100. My phatarse couldn't hold back against trying the stuffed youtiao on one of my visits, and while the youtiao was very crispy and guilty, the masago elevated the dipping mayo and the twang of wasabi really made the day by cutting down any oil that managed to stay behind. And then there are items that's better than authentic. Try the satay beef noodle here, then have it again in HK. Yes, the instant ramen noodles are authentic. The rich yellow broth is not. That's not kurry, that's their satay, which is full of peanuts, and a far cry from the average diswasher-esque presentation you'll get in HK. --------- So, the big bad elephant in the room. Parking, and reasons to be in the area. For dinner at least, this is not an issue. There's usually parking across the street just outside the Trader Joe's. You could try to park upfront, but mind you, get trapped and you'll end up in Oakland. We wouldn't want that now, would we. Don't be stupid, park across the street. The 8, 12, 19, and 27 are blocks away. Costco is nearby, there's Sightglass, as well as (again) Trader Joe's. * Could be dried shriimp roe though. (Japan has kazuobushi. Korea loves their dried anchovys. These and dried shriimp are our answer to Japan.) ** No. Cantonese rice roll/豬腸粉 is nothing like Korean rice cake. It's not chewy.
This is such a great little Hong Kong cafe and the food really took me back to my last visit in HK. The ambiance is warm and it was really busy for dinner for a Thursday night. The service was quick and efficient! I ordered the iced HK milk tea and from the first sip I could tell this place would be good. Perfect amount of milk to tea and not too sweet :) For an appetizer I got the spicy sesame chicken or in Chinese we call it mouthwatering chicken. I do wish it was a bit spicier or numbing but the flavor was great and I enjoyed the cucumbers that were included. They provided a good contrast in texture. For the main I got the spicy Szechuan beef noodle soup with wide egg noodles and added wontons. You cannot miss the wontons here, they are big, plump, and juicy. Props to them for not skimping out on the shrimp. The wonton wrapper was also delicately thin and perfectly cooked. All signs that the kitchen knows what they're doing. Their chili crisp is good but maybe as a spicy lover I wish it was even spicier!! All and all, these might be my favorite wontons in the city thus far :) I will definitely be back!
Pretty authentic Hong Kong style food. Their portion were pretty good. The menu isn't massively like most old school Chinese restaurants- that's a good thing. The interior is quiet and chill vibes with some random toy decorations ala Labubus. The service and staff were good.
LetsSweet Kitchen is a cozy Cha Chaan Teng (HK cafe) cranking out some real hits (and a few misses) in a lesser traveled part of Soma. This spot is a bit tucked away from much of anything else but definitely worth checking out if you're craving solid Hong Kong comfort food. I started with the HK milk tea, which was a bit of a miss for me as I did not get near enough of that strong, tannic tea flavor I love from the real deal in HK. Maybe their other drinks are more on point, but not off to a great start. Luckily, the food immediately turned things around. The curry combo was awesome, packed with curry flavor, spicy, rich and loaded with fish balls, bean curd, and hefty chunks of daikon (maybe could've been cut smaller, but still delicious). The wonton noodle soup gets an easy A+ as the noodles had that perfect QQ bounce, the wontons were plump with shrimp and pork and sheathed in a paper thin wrapper, and the broth was mild but comforting. Add a bit of red vinegar, and it's perfect. The Tom Yum Spaghetti was a delicious fusion dish with familiar spicy, tangy and sour Tom Yum flavors and I loved the touch of cream in the sauce that added some body and let it cling to the noodles a bit better. The only real letdown was the crispy chicken cartilage as the breading was a bit too thick and the cartilage flavors and texture became a bit lost in this preparation. The plain mayo on the side was also a bit puzzling and not a great condiment (I mixed it with a little sriracha which helped, but still not great). A simple side of seasoned salt or some sort of tare would go a long way in helping the cartilage itself be the star, much the way that it is prepared at Japanese izakayas, where I am not ashamed to say I have probably eaten this dish dozens of times. Despite a couple minor misses, I felt the meal was fantastic overall. The hits were bang on, the place is clean and comfy, and the staff were super friendly. A little pricier than your average cha chaan teng, but honestly, the quality and care make it feel worth it. I'll definitely be back to try the braised beef brisket dishes and lunch specials next time!
Pretty authentic everyday hongkong food, which also means it's on the bland side in terms of seasoning (Cantonese food tend to go easy on seasoning and salt), some of the dishes you'd want to add more salt, or hot sauce yourself to make more flavorful. I really like that the restaurant also offers a selection of quintessential HK deserts and drinks, and its offering of dishes covers both more traditional Chinese Cantonese food, and more British influenced western style HK food.
I'm fairly confident at this point that I can get anything on their menu and not be disappointed. Yesterday, we felt adventurous and ordered their spicy ma lat chicken and rice noodle. There are several types of rice noodles used in HK cuisine but typically mai fun (thinner) and lai fun (round, thicker, slippery). This was made with the latter, of which I'm a fan both because of its flavor and because it's fun to eat. The ma lat soup was mouth numbing but not overpowering. Chicken was tender. Great dish. We also got the pork jowl and chicken chop over rice. The pork jowl is splendid how can they make pork so tender yet flavorful? Rice is perfect. In HK culture, rice needs to be cooked to perfection, where each grain is separate (粒粒分明). That means adding too little or too much water can ruin the whole pot. The butter / condensed milk toast was divine. Service is always top notch. Place was packed again on a random Sunday morning. 生意興隆, LetSweet. It's so great to see your business flourish.
Ordered takeout via uber eats and received a very sad small portion of meat. The braised beef plate looked nothing like the photos advertised. For around $20 this is absolutely not worth the price and I will not be ordering again. Food was also packaged poorly and some of the sauce was spilling out of the container. It was also cold when we received it.
Impressed. Cute cafe, friendly service, and very good food at a reasonable price. Lots on the menu - you'll be annoyed about having to pick just a few things to try. Super cart noodle w braised broth and flat egg noodles - this was delicious. The fish cake was my favorite part. The beef was super flavorful. The broth was delicious without being overly salty. I was nervous about the egg (the photo on the menu shows a very hard boiled egg) but it came out perfectly gelled. Noodles have that authentic taste. Curry chicken: this is spicy!! But great flavor and perfect portion. Not too much chicken, but comes with broccoli, carrot, and potato. Can't wait to try more!
Made in Hong Kong! That's the way foods tasted when I was growing up in Hong Kong. I wasn't even hungry when I stepped into Let's Sweet Kitchen. The ambiance is very familiar but clean! I ordered the braised beef and wonton noodles with a complimentary hot drink. I got the good old fashion hot Hong Kong milk tea. It was delicious. The noodles was super al dente and the braised beef was very tender. The soup was just right in the taste and temperature. I ATE THE WHOLE THING! Brings back lots of memories. I will definitely return here and recommend this place.
Probably one of the best HK eatery in SF! Came for lunch and it was packed the entire time I was here. I got the wonton noodles soup and the noodles were cooked bouncy and just right. Wontons were also good. Would def come back again!
Ordered Wonton Only to go. Only took 10 min. The soup was packed on the side was nice and hot. Although alittle too salty to drink on its own, was good with the wontons. The wontons had a good filling ratio with pork meat and a shrimp. Overall, I enjoyed the quick meal however, I did think the price was a little steep for 10 wontons. Although its a Wonton Only dish, maybe added 1 choy or lettuce would lighten up the dish and make the dish more worth it for me. I would come back to try other dishes but for the price, I wouldn't visit frequently. Especially since parking can be difficult. This is a good option for people working in the area.

Mother's Day. The gift of collagen because lawd knows all the wrinkles we've caused the moms out there. While we celebrated on Friday, I thought I bring a collagen rich takeout meal the day of. And, LetsSweet Kitchen nailed it. Soft opening last week, LetsSweet Kitchen took over Beyond Cafe (same chef, new owners). For the OGs, they took over SO (San Tung's sister). LetsSweet Kitchen is a Cha Chaan Teng, an HK Style Cafe. Currently open for takeout and indoor dining. Delivery to come. M E N U Soft opening: Same menu as Beyond Cafe - Braised Apps, Cart Noodles (BYO noodle bowl), Dry Noodles, and Noodle Soups. After the soft opening phase, they'll roll out new items like HK Baked Noodle and Rice Dishes, along with a line of desserts. CC's and Apple Pay accepted. F O O D * "Dry" Braised Egg Noodles w/ beef brisket, tendon ($17) x2 orders: https://tinyurl.com/yukmm353 - Soup on the side, add 4 pc wonton (+$5) * BYO Cart Noodles - "Dry" Braised Egg Noodles w/ brisket, tendon, pork trotters, gai lan, soup on the side ($16): https://tinyurl.com/hnjtwewf - Choose 4 items + choice of noodles - Choose style: málà (spicy), braised/dry, clear broth I'm happy to report that the food is the same! I've only stuck with their Dry/Braised Noodle dishes at Beyond and their new reincarnation. - Broth: Clear chicken and pork based broth with dried flounder for a seafoody umami. - Thin Egg Noodles: Perfectly springy and al-dente that nicely soaks up the savory soy-based braising liquid. - Braised Beef Brisket + Tendons: Meaty chunks of rough flank, slowly braised until deliciously tender with meltingly soft, collagen-rich tendons. So good. - Braised Pork Trotter: Full of collagen, soft-chewy gelatinous goodness. - HK Style Wontons: Unlike Canto style, HK Style wontons have a higher shrimp to pork ratio. A whole shrimp with a snappy texture with savory ground pork. - Gai Lan: And for health, their Chinese broccoli has a nice crisp. S E R V I C E The new owner(s) are super kind. They offered hot tea or water while I waited for my takeout (10 minutes). I saw they had Po Tat (Portuguese Egg Tarts) on Yelp but it wasn't available yesterday. As an apology, the manager (?) graciously provided a slice of tiramisu on the house. A M B I A N C E Low-key with about 10 tables. P A R K I N G Easy street parking for the city. Overall, solid HK comfort food. LetsSweet Kitchen is off the beaten path with little foot traffic but for those who don't live near Chinatown, The Richmond, or The Sets, AND don't want to deal with the chaotic parking situation, LetsSweet Kitchen is a win. Looking forward to returning for their HK Baked Pork Chop Rice! read more

Hi there, thank you so much for the thoughtful, detailed review!…
Came here for their wanton noodles! You can choose to customize your dish, choose your proteins and noodle style. I opted for the thin egg noodles wanting a classic bowl but next time I want to try the wide rice noodles. The broth was flavorful but fell a little short of being full bodied. However after adding some chili oil and vinegar the flavor rounded out. The wantons themselves are packed with shrimp and I assume pork. They're juicy, bouncy and have good flavor. A standout dish was the tripe and chitterlings. Braised in soup and tender to perfection. Of course the pig trotters are always a hit, bouncy full of collegian and fun to eat! The team was helpful and even gave our table fries as service! Excited to come back for another bowl of good soup. read more
What a hidden gem. LetsSweet Kitchen is tucked into an awkward traffic area where I would never expect to find a restaurant, so it was a pleasant surprise to see how popular it is. They have seating for about 30 people, and the space feels cozy and simple. The waitress was very friendly and welcoming. I ordered the Sichuan Chilled Chicken Rice, which is served deboned except for the wing. It looks spicy, but the heat is actually very mild and easy to enjoy. The Hong Kong Wonton Noodle Soup is full of umami, with generous portions of shrimp and meat wrapped inside each wonton. I strongly recommend the Hong Kong style French toast. The peanut butter filling adds a rich, nutty flavor that balances perfectly with the crispy exterior and syrup. The braised beef brisket and the super cart noodle also looked amazing at nearby tables. I am definitely excited to come back and try more dishes. read more

Saw this New Hong Kong Style cafe on IG and bc I was in HK this time last year, I wanted to try it out to bring me back. I was welcomed with a choice of water or hot tea and chose hot tea which I believe was oolong, correct me if I'm wrong. The tea was good, same quality as they would serve in HK or Chinese restaurants lol. I also ordered an iced Hong Kong milk tea, which I asked what kind of milk and she said they used evaporated milk. Not sure how I felt about it, was just very milky, maybe needed more tea and sugar? But it didn't give me the "omg wow" factor like I had trying it in HK. I ordered the wonton noodle soup, I came alone so I didn't order too much since I wouldn't be able to finish it. Very tasty soup!! The egg noodles were perfectly bouncy, soft and tender to the bite, and had that soft crunch! Wontons had pork (I think) and shrimp, and it tasted just like wontons in HK. It's located on a super busy Bryant street, before the I80 exit to the bridge and across the street from Porsche. I was lucky to get parking right in front, but I drive by here often so could be fairly ok to find street parking. But good luck if there's a lot of traffic. Definitely want to come back to try other things & give it a proper rating but for now I thought it's worth a try esp if you like Hong Kong style foods! read more
Great food and great service. This place really serves authentic Hong Kong style food. It's a family owned business and great variety of food with authentic Hong Kong taste. Wonton noodle is awesome. Compared to some famous wonton places in SF Chinatown, LetsSweet has more a Hong Kong flavor to it. The noodle is great and I just like how they have red vinegar at each table because red vinegar is a must for a lots of Canton people when having Hong Kong style wonton noodle. Omg the satay beef instant noodle is great as well, reminds me of what I had in Hong Kong. We also love the French toast and they put a lot of peanut butter inside. Love it when pairing with maple syrup (we requested for some condensed milk on the side for dipping because it's also great with condensed milk!!) Don't forget to grab their panna cotta before you go. Silky milk pudding texture with homemade strawberry jam! I wish they could have put some fresh strawberry slides to make the dessert for some freshness! But the panna cotta itself is great. Definitely recommend to whoever wants authentic hong Kong style food and street snacks. The place is clean and decorated with many Hong Kong style decorations including Black & White mugs, and a large mirror with Hong Kong illustrations drawn by different customers. Feels like a warm and welcoming space for everyone. I wanna try their Hong Kong milk tea and lemon tea next time. Super look forward for their future menu hopefully with some more variety like baked pork chop style dishes. read more

This is my first time coming. I'm a Hongkonger and I can testify that their foods are authentic. Must try satay beef instant noodle: their sauce is thick enough not to get diluted in the soup. Beef is tender and the taste is exactly like the one sold in HK. I don't need to go down to LA for the satay beef instant noodle anymore. Their wonton noodle soup is great with big chunks of shrimp in the wonton. We also tried the fried chicken wings (all flat with no drumstick) and French toast. They're both tasty. read more

I really wanted to like this place ... the atmosphere was cozy, and the service was good, but the Szechuan beef noodle soup I got was just mediocre. The beef was good, but the flavor was just hot ... no vegetables, no other flavors, just a lot of noodles. Maybe this was not the right dish to order ... it's more like a Hong Kong cafe. It was pretty full of cut, even though the location was kind of weird, near the highway in the city. I also got an icy grass jelly drink which was also just OK. There were a lot of grass jelly pieces left at the end which were too hard to eat with the ice, so it felt kind of bad ... read more

This is under new owner, Hong kong style food , I had been this location before it was good , Today I ordered braised pork hock noodles add wonton with red fermented bean curd . The soup broth have a lot of good favorite, and the noodles cook perfectly not mushy, and the meat is very tender. The owner was talking to the customer, the staff was nice of the end I ordered coconut tarts, I like it not too sweet, I will come back try order dishes . one little negative point when name the restaurant sweet , I was thinking a bakery not restaurant! read more

Was really excited to try this HK style Cha Cha tang. Coming from HK and living in NYC for 30 years, I'm really familiar with the HK style food taste. To be honest, I was disappointed in this place and it did not live up to the 5 star rating. First off, the curry fish balls were hard. Almost seemed like they weren't fully cooked through and was just tossed in curry sauce. Also, for this dish, usually it's not really spicy. This one was. For the rice noodles, I mainly came for this dish. It was okay, but too much brown sauce and not enough peanut sauce so the brown sauce overpowered the taste and flavor. It looks like they but a lot of peanut sauce but I think the ratio of the two sauces were off. The meatball noodles were just okay. The French toast was okay, but something was missing. Overall, something was missing for every dish. Sometimes I couldn't tell what it was but I would think to myself, oh this isn't that good. Don't think I'll be coming back. There are other HK style foods in SF that seemed to be a lot better for me. read more

Soft openings usually means certain items are still being ironed out. I see the potential for LetsSweet Kitchen to be a nice addition to the SF HK Cafe scene, we need more HK Cafes! The food was decent, not mind blowing, but good and honest. They did a remodel of the space which brightened things up. I would come back again to try other items. read more

Ordered the Szechuan beef brisket noodle soup and the satay beef noodle soup. Very hearty portion sizes and strong flavor. New owner. I was attracted by the reviews. It turned out i came here long ago for their wonton. This time menu was very small. I was given a laminated paper and you choose 4 items for your soup. The new owners will not offer this noodle selection soon. In Chinese literal translation: car noodles. I picked lettuce, fish balls, calamari, and flat egg noodles. It was ok. I wasn't overstuffed which was good. Service was nice. My friend was not impressed by the food. Their soup had lettuce, intestines, knuckles, and flat rice noodles and she had HK tea. Lunch time: we were the only ones in there. There is another one page menu offered but we weren't interested. This chinese restaurant is the only Hong Kong food offered around. It's close by from Trader Joe's and Container Store. read more

Finally found a cozy little Hong Kong café that nails both authenticity and service! We were warmly greeted and the waitress was super attentive, she even checked in to ask how we were enjoying our meal, which you don't always get these days. We ordered the Lemongrass Pork Jowl Rice and a cup of Hong Kong-style Milk Tea. The milk tea was smooth, bold, and perfectly balanced, not too sweet, just the way it should be. It's made the traditional way, which takes a bit longer, but the quality and taste are totally worth the wait. The pork jowl was a standout, crispy on the outside, tender and juicy on the inside. Dip it in the sauce and it's chef's kiss level good. Can't wait to come back and try more from the menu! read more

5/5 stars!! I am so glad they took over Beyond Cafe! Much cleaner and food is definitely better! I love their new menu and all their food that I have tried has taste amazing. My favorite is still the hk wonton noodles. The flavors of their food has been amazing and I have been a repeating customers!! Love the owner and waitresses, they are super nice and friendly! Always feels welcoming to come here for lunch. Their HK music is on point too, very similar to my own playlist. A perfect spot to have authentic Hong Kong food in San Francisco. They just open since May 20, 2025. Foods are amazingly decisious. Worth the wait a bit for table. Curry fish balls is a must try item. Braised Pork Hock is also another high-lighted item. Yummy! This resturant food quality are much better than many so-called "Hong Kong style" resturants in Southern California. Support our Hong Konger business ! 香港加油 Follow their IG: LetsSweet3 read more

Dropped by Let'sSweet and had the HK milk tea and wonton soup -- both were solid and satisfying. The menu is still mostly the same as Beyond, the previous restaurant, but they mentioned a new menu is coming in about two weeks, which I'm excited to see. They've already added a few new items like egg tarts (which were sold out during our visit), so I'd recommend calling ahead if you're hoping to get some. We also noticed HK-style French toast being offered off-menu. The food is still good, but the place has lost a bit of the charm that Beyond had. Still, I'm hopeful the upcoming changes will give Let'sSweet a fresh identity. Looking forward to coming back soon! read more

My fiance and I were looking for a casual spot for dinner and found it on Yelp! This place took over Beyond Cafe. Service is super friendly and then playlist reminds me of 2005's boba tea house HK xD *lemongrass pork jowl rice: super yummy! Pork jowl had the pleasent snap to it and had a hint of lemongrass served with sweet chilli sauce. 5/5 would order again *super cart noodles: braised broth + thin egg noodles really hit the spot! Added the tea egg and wontons to it and everything was very homey tasting. Bonus bc it's a huge portion! Fiance couldnt finish it haha. 5/5 would order again Hope more people can learn about this fantastic hidden gem! read more
