This places is just aces. I've been going to Lessard's for over a year and I love it. I get my haircut every fortnight and I've never been disappointed. After only a few cuts my regular barber no longer asks what I want, he just gets down to cutting. I'd give them five stars but they don't take cards and in 2010 making a trip to the ATM every time I need a haircut is an inconvenience. I've paid as much as $85.00 to get my haircut and the $16.00 cuts here are just as good if not better because they remember exactly how I want it cut and it's perfect every time. If they used hot lather and a straight razors for necks they'd also pick up that last star. Still this places rocks, and you should have them cut your hair. read more

Per a yelp review I tried this place and it was great, the guys make you feel right at home and do a good job with the haircut. Reasonably priced at $16. According to them it's the spot for the BC athletes during the school year and seems like a cool spot, plenty of autographed stuff on the walls and a tv to watch too. Nice to have a neighborhood Barbershop. Unfortunately this place has had issues with cleanliness since they've opened. As a customer I should not have to ask for them to clean someone elses hair off the seat or the floor. The cut was okay, nothing great. Wish I could say this was a one time thing, but the shop has had sanitary issues like this, every time I've walked in for years! I could understand if it was a busy Saturday but not middle of the week, during a slow period. I do admire thier respect for history. But I've seen cleaner Tattoo parlors! Shop is always busy but I've never waited for more than 10 minutes even at peak time. I kept my hair buzzed short when I went here and some of the best high and tights I have ever had from this shop. Took time to get the fade perfect and used a foil shaver, which felt amazing. Saw lots of great longer cuts too. Definitely a go-to type of place. read more

Stopped in for my first time since moving to the neighborhood and was very impressed. Doesn't look like much from the outside, and is very easy to drive by (I've done so more times than I can count before I noticed it), but once you step inside you'll see that it's quite a nice place. I stopped by on a Wednesday around 3 and was whisked away to a chair as soon as I stepped in the door. The haircut was quick, but not rushed, the conversation was good, and unlike most barbers I've ever been to, the hair vacuum thing-a-ma-bob actually does what its supposed to do and takes care of your no longer necessary hair. The price was the fairly standard $16 among barber shops in Boston (discount for kids and seniors), but I definitely feel like you get more for your money at Lessard's. read more

Basically the consistently best hair cuts I've gotten in years. They're open great hours Tuesday - Saturday and have anywhere from 2 to 5 barbers in the shop depending on the time of day. In the beginning, I tried to go to the same barber every time so I could get the same quality haircut. But the guy I was looking for wasn't working so I tried a different one -- and I got almost the exact same haircut. As long as you tell them what you want, you'll get it. At this point, I've tried 4 different barbers and just go to whoever is available, and I'm always happy. There's usually a line of people waiting because of how popular it is, but it can move quickly on off hours or if there are a lot of barbers in shop. The standard haircut costs $18 cash (credit not accepted), which is a $2 raise from last year, but it's worth it. Especially to support a local barbershop in an area with a quickly raising price of living. read more

These guys are some of the best in the business--always fair, always reasonably priced, and always consistent. Mike gives the best fade in all of Boston. He never rushes a haircut and always makes sure you walk out looking like a million dollars. Also one of the nicest, most genuine dudes out there. I have gotten both my best and my worst haircuts EVER at the shop. My worst was today when it really mattered for an important work week. **Do Not get a cut on Monday. Feels like amateur hour. Today I received the most botched job (a bowl cut would have been better; bowl included). I specifically told the gentleman exactly what I wanted and he proceeded to ignore all of my instructions and leave me with what looks like a toupee sitting on an egg. I created a YELP just for this because I was taken back by this experience. I see all these 5 star rating, and I would absolutely agree until I had my most recent haircut. I walk in at 7 PM. (they close at 9) sit down and the guy in the front (Michael I think) tells me there is another barber in the back (to whom I usually go to). So I walk back, he comes out and I go to the chair. He then tells me he was on his way out to which I respond, "do you mind giving me a cut or should I go wait" (why did the guy up front tell me to go see him if he was leaving!?) He proceeds to cut my hair and at the end asks, what do you think (about the haircut)? I ask him if he can try and fade it in a bit more. - I do a 1 on top, zero around sides and fade where they meet. - VERY SIMPLE!!! He then says I can't, to which I respond "OK, no worries". He then becomes grumpy does it and in the mean time tells me that. "IF YOU COME BACK TO THE BARBERSHOP SEE MICHAEL, AND THERE IS NO CHARGE FOR THE CUT" I was very confused as to why he was saying this. I have always tipped him for a simple haircut that he does. So when I handed him the money he insisted that I take it back because, "neither one of us is happy with the service and that he wont cut my hair in the future. I left the money and walked out. If, for whatever reason, Paul isn't around, I have confidence in his best buddy Mike. The guys in the back are solid too. . These guys know how to cut hair. I gladly drive 30 minutes to the shop a couple of times a month, because I know I what I'm going to get; an old school shop with nice guys who take pride in the business and care about each customer's experience.. so much so that they recently had the hardwoods resurfaced. . Mike and Paul have been cutting my hair every other week for the better part of the past two decades. I've found them to be nothing more than courteous, professional and a positive influence on a neighborhood full of connivence stores and nail parlors. Their homage to the predecessor, classic Americana and the Golden Age of sports adds something to the experience. Not only do I call them my barber but consider them to be friends after this many years. I've never had to ask them to sweep hair off a seat ever. As far as on the ground-it's a barber shop. If there were ears and noses I'd be concerned. If your in Brighton or even this side of Boston, check this shop and these guys out. read more

Been coming here for almost a decade since they were in their old hole in the wall location 3 doors down. It's almost impossible to find a barber outside of Chinatown that can cut asian hair well and Mike and Paul just know how to cut hair no matter the ethnic hair type. Usually this place doesn't do women but I just needed an undercut trimmed up. Wait was about 45 min but that's because most of the guys who come here are pretty devoted. The guy cutting hair with sleeves knew a lot of them by name and was nice to everyone. Supercuts down the street wanted to charge me 16 for a 30 second buzz, so I worked up the courage to walk in. Charged only 5 bucks and they were super friendly with an invite to stop back when it grows out again. Guy next door to me also had a haircut here and it looks awesome. The guys that had haircuts while I was waiting came out looking pretty good too. I was a little amazed at how well he could do in a very short amount of time. read more

This is my local barbershop and the one I've used many times in the past few years. There is always a line so expect to wait around 5-10 minutes for your turn. The shop is pretty old and has a classic feel to it. The guys know what they're doing and will accommodate your needs as long as you explain exactly what style you're going for. I've been to lessards a few times and they are great guys. Men should have their hair cut by men! These guys are quick and right off the 57/501 bus routes so on your way home from work they are very easy to come to. One ting that might make it 5 stars was if they accept debit/credit cards. Not that getting $16 is hard but sometimes it's just easier to use a card! By the way did I mention it's $16 for a haircut? And their good, no cost cutters etc BS quick, easy and convienant. Also, try coming during the middle of the day during the week because they Are WALK IN ONLY they don't take appointments. Lines can be backed up sometimes. read more

Definitely my go to since my last barber did some funkiness to the front part of my old "headsuit". And at about 1/4 of the price of an upscale salon you end up getting a good cut at a fair price.
