I have seen Robert grow up. He has become not just a fantastic business man but a loyal friend, a loving husband to his wife, and has always be a good son and brother. It is with this character that he runs his businesses. He is charitable and funny and going into his shop you know you will leave having heard some great story and laughed alot. My son has got his hair cut here numerous times. Robert cuts his hair and hands out No.End wisdom that he probably doesnt even know is so appreciated by this single mom. Personally, I had an old tattoo that I wanted to change and fix. At Robert's shop in the No.End I was able to fix a pretty boring and faded tattoo and leave with a beautiful and colorful work of art. First off the place is packed tighter than a can of sardines. Good for business bad for the client. They call you in and you expect a somewhat decent haircut, but you end up with a rushed job that's botched with uneven lines on the ears and neckline. The barber didn't ask if I wanted my head shaved or clipped with scissors they just went in the a skin tight buzzer and ask "is this okay?" What am I supposed to say...no put it back on?? If you are in a rush and need a botched haircut done in 20 minutes with ZERO communication between the barber and yourself this is the place to go. I guess you get what you pay for. Near Beacon hill barber place is incredibly rude. Right when I went inside with my boyfriend the lady barber was super disrespectful to me because I was trying to explain what kind of haircut he wanted. She goes ahead and said: this is not about what you want but what he wants and proceeded to tell me to sit down and let him talk. Incredibly rude with very bad attitude. I've been with my boyfriend for 3 years and whenever I would go with him I would usually be quiet and then let him do the talking but this time he wanted me to, so I did. However the people there are not friendly and do not want to engage in any humor. If you want a friendlier environment for a barber shop I would highly recommend the north end. There is never a dull moment here! I love the vibe and the banter that often goes on between some of the barbers. Back home, I had someone who had cut my hair since I was a kid. I knew of nothing else, that is, until I checked this place out once I arrived in Boston. I didn't know what the barbershop etiquette was, or if there is one -- all I knew is that I'd have an easier time getting the haircut I wanted if I showed the barber a few pictures of it that I pulled up on my phone. Azad (the barber) took a few seconds to look at the photos, then went to town on my head. Let me set this straight right now, the man has the hands of an angel. I gave him a very vague description of what I wanted and he somehow nailed it! They also end every haircut with a quick shave. I don't know what they put in their shaving foam but you walk out feeling sexy af, ready to take on the world! For $25, you just can't beat it, so don't try. I have a really straight Asian hair and when I showed him a picture, he gave a good advice about adjusting due to my hair texture. I got high and tight fade and I liked the outcome. Been going here for at least 3 years now and I never leave disappointed. There's a sign in sheet in the back where you write your name and who you're there to see (if you already know). Add your name to the list and either wait in one of the seats upstairs or go downstairs where there's a waiting area with seating and a TV and they'll call you up when they're ready for you. My fourth visit so far and Boston Barber Co. is a solid place to go! Would love to give five stars, but today's visit was unlike the others. It was quite a painful experience - every stroke of his comb and brush on my sides actually hurt a lot. It also felt pretty rushed on the top, but I understand since it was late in the day and there were a lot of folks in the queue. I had to remind him a few times to thin the top. This is by far the worst haircut experience that I've ever had!! Nikki was very rude and unprofessional! I showed a video of my previous haircut (from another barber) and asked her to give me the same haircut! She started ten minutes late and finished ten minutes early! In total she worked less than 10 minutes on my hair! In those ten minutes she went to the basement for two minutes! She was talking to other barbers the whole time and was constantly on her phone texting! I asked her not to go too short and that's exactly the opposite of what she did! Never asked me for any feedback until the very end when it was too late! I literally showed her a video of me, MYSELF, not even someone else's, and still she managed to gave me the most crappiest haircut that I've ever had in my life! I was in and out in probably 30 minutes. Maybe a little less. I like a very short skin fade haircut and the Boston Barber Co. delivered. It wasn't too busy when I went in, and I was able to get my hair cut right away. But as good as these guys are coupled with the location, I can see it getting slammed at certain times of the day.
