My mom used hers in a Miami , Florida shopping mall. A group of kids came by and tried to steal her bag. Security chased them away. When she got back to the hotel she noticed a slice mark that was only halfway through the bag. It seems like those punks were trying to slice my moms bag so they could pick up items that spilled from my moms bag. LeSportsac saved my mom from what could have been a horrible experience. Originally ,my wife wanted to go to the Waikele Outlets. Well we did and there was no LeSportsac store there. Two days later we ended up at the Ala Moana location. She found a bag that she liked. I haven't been here in a while, but I do have a lot of their bags. I used to collect all their Tokidoki bags. I have a box full of them, maybe about 20 Tokidoki bags. Lately, I've purchased their Hello Kitty and Pac-Man bags. I love all the different collabs that they do. They really do have a lot of cute stuff. They recently have collabs with Disney. All those Mickey Mouse bags are adorable. Another great thing about LeSportsac bags are that they are made from nylon. They are water resistant and you don't have to worry about getting them dirty. While I have several of the bags, I do think they are expensive for cloth purses. But I like them because they are light as opposed to leather or ones with a lot of metal. My junk weighs a lot so I don't need a bag to add to the weight. Comfort not style is what I am looking for in these bags and backpacks. I miss the outlet that was in Waikiki, so much more affordable. Went today and got another bag. I will say that the store manager knows her product. Telling another salesperson that I was browsing (I do not like pushy salesclerks who on the guise of being helpful are just being pushy) so I could try to wander by myself. But since I was in the area that the manager was working she would make comments on the ones I picked up. Like, "There's an extra bag in the inside" or this is new for this season. Informative without being pushy. One of the surprising things was that all sales are final. Shocked, I asked if my purchase was on sale. The accessories that I can't live without LeSportsac doesn't help resisting it very easy at all with that their collaboration with various themes are just fun and expressive in ways that tasteful and fashionable. I do own a few from Minions, Hello Kitty, Coca Cola, and I've been gifted a few Minnie Mouse from my family in Japan and a bestie which I do treasure. I personally don't care for their goods but this wasn't for me! I wish I had gotten the sales associate's name as her service was the utmost professional from any store I've been to outside of Louis Vuitton. She greeted us immediately and told of us of current sale specials and exclusive-to-Hawaii products. Shopping at Ala Moana Center... I really wasn't going to buy anything. I left my purse in the car to make it more inconvenient for impulsive purchases. When I decide to go and get my wallet, it's usually a sign of a good deal. Originally, I was looking for the studded yellow Starbucks tumbler. The Macy's location had sold out quickly, so, as I was walking back to my car, I decided to browse Le Sportsac. I had recently purchased Hello Kitty and BTS items from the Le Sportsac at Royal Hawaiian Center in Waikiki. That was a 50 percent off sale, too. However, this Ala Moana location is larger and seems to have more selection. For example, Ala Moana Le Sportsac had rolling luggage at 70 percent off. Gosh. How can I resist? It's lightweight, durable, water resistant, and of good quality. Now to choose from three designs... Hmmm... The helpful Sales Associate, Connie, showed me how the matching tote bag had a zipper on the back which allows the handle of the rolling luggage to be inserted so the tote bag rests securely on the luggage... Wow! I also had to get something Hello Kitty and something BT21 since they were 50 percent off! Pouches, wallets, and coin purses are so useful and are excellent gifts! I'll probably go back tomorrow because my friend in California saw my Facebook and Instagram posts and she wants some merchandise! LOL! She has good taste! Went in to check out a certain bag we saw online. Was initially greeted by the 2 workers...guess they had to since there was no one else in the store. We didn't see the item we were looking for, so my friend asked if they had the bag we were looking for. And with a snooty attitude, he just shook his head and said no. When asked why, he just shook his head again and said, "No, no more." Oh...ok...sorry to have bothered you as you stood chatting with your coworker instead of helping a customer. Clearly they are not interested in helping people...or should I say, local people! From reading the other reviews on yelp, they could use a few lessons in customer service. Buyer beware for sure!! ...like, WTH. Me and the bud went to this store a couple hours ago...and had the worst 4 minutes of our weekend. Maybe that glass side door not letting us in was warning already. Ya think, in a big mall like AMC, they'd have the courtesy of putting a sign on it, asking patrons to kindly use the front entrance...oh, but none of that...they just let you look stupid as you struggle to open one door and the other, until you--DUH!--have to figure it out yourself, while the workers inside stare at you like you're on something! ...so stupid us walk into the store and start looking around. The salespeople yelled out some kind of welcome...but no one really comes to ask us if we needed help or anything. Just a small kine stare-down and teeny tiny air of dismissal. Guess we didn't look any bit Japanese tourist-like and, therefore, must have seemed as if we didn't have enough money on us to buy anything remotely substantial. Or maybe they met quota for the day, forcing unassuming customers earlier in the day to buy something they otherwise didn't need (yes, I read some of the other negative Yelp posts!). In any case, we were wandering our poor arses through the whole store before realizing they didn't have a specific design we saw online. I asked the taller of the two ladies there--the one with super short hair and smarmy look on her--if she knew anything about this particular design. She glanced at the photo on my phone, and looked completely away from me and toward the back of the store, and said they don't have it. So I asked for clarification again if she meant Hawaii doesn't have it and--OMG, wow, I must be super lowly as I don't even warrant eye contact from this woman--she said yes, Hawaii doesn't have the design...and now does a complete 180-degree head turn toward the front of the store like a predator looking for prey...as she spied with her little hawk eye, a Japanese couple walking in... Disgusted, we started walking out...and I heard a distinct "Aloha!" not far behind us...as Ms. Hawk Lady swooped toward her next...um, potential big sale. Wow. Reading some of the other reviews (especially Shannon G's), I learned that Ms. Hawk is the manager...and I hope she reads this--that my friends and I have, over the years, given this store a lot of sales. I've been a longtime fan of this American brand and have intermittently purchased several different handbag or luggage accessories from different collections. In fact, I bought my first LeSportsac handbag from local department store, Liberty House, now Macy's back in the early 80's. My original bag was a classic black patent nylon weekender that held up for about 15 years as my steady lightweight travel bag. When I travel, I will usually pack a LeSportsac tote or weekender bag into my luggage to use as either a handbag or a carry-on for putting those fragile snacks that I get from Mainland Trader Joe's or souvenirs. The extra bag allows me to fill my suitcase with heavier or less fragile items that I might purchase along my travels while keeping within the recommended 50 pound weight limit. LeSportsac products are lightweight, made from rip-stop parachute nylon with signature grosgrain trim and webbing top handles and/or shoulder strap. The bags are virtually weightless and you only feel what you put into them which makes these travel friendly. Their products are easy to care for and with proper care will last you for a long time. Warning: Shady practices, aggressive salesperson, ridiculous NO REFUND policy. A couple weeks ago, I was at the mall and wandered into the LeSportsac store as I was drawn in by the Hawaiian display in the window. Immediately the saleswoman was on me and I couldn't shake her. She kept pushing different bags into my hands and telling me how special the Hawaiian design was. First I mentioned how the color was pretty light and I didn't think it would stay clean with my young kids and she tells me it'll be fine as its machine washable. Then I asked for a different style of bag and she said "no, no, we don't have that one, but this one is better". I told her I was going to walk around the mall and think about it and she said "why?" I told her I didn't really want to carry a purchase around and she puts the purse into my shopping bag to show me how light it is and how it won't bother me. I admit, I should have just walked away at this point, but I did somewhat like the bag, but I really didn't feel like I should be paying $59 for a purse right now. I just felt extremely pressured and guilted into the sale. I finally said, "okay, I'll take it" and she rang up the sale. I felt regretful as soon as I walked out the door, but figured I'd just return it on my next trip to the mall. Fast forward to yesterday. I head back to the mall and tell them I need to return the bag (which I hadn't touched at all... tags on, still in protective plastic, pristine condition). The lady says no returns allowed. I looked at her in disbelief. She points to the little signs taped on the credit card machine "All Sales Final" and "No Refunds". I couldn't believe it. A retail store at the mall that doesn't allow returns? Seriously? The original saleswoman did not mention that important fact at all and she knew I was hesitant about the sale. I absolutely didn't notice the small credit card machine signs at all or there is NO way I would have made that purchase. There is no other signage in the store stating this "no refunds" policy. So I asked to speak to the manager. He comes out and looks at me blankly when I explain the situation. He pretty much keeps repeating "I'm sorry but it's our policy--no refunds" after each point I made. I told him how I felt pressured into the purchase and how the saleswoman didn't mention the no refund policy to me at all. He said it's on the receipt. And yes the main receipt says "no refunds" on it but then they cover it with the credit card receipt that is stapled on top so it's not easily noticeable. I mean, the whole thing reeks of fraud. Very dishonest at the very least. I told the manager that I had googled the return policy before I came back to the store and LeSportSac says refunds within 30 days with receipt. He said they are an independent store not affiliated with the national LeSportsac. I asked how on earth is anyone supposed to know that when they walk into their store? He then proceeds to tell me that I had a choice and I could have chosen not to make the purchase. Wow... really?? So nothing I'm saying is getting through at all. I was in tears at this point. He had absolutely no compassion or remorse about the situation. It was just "my fault". I told him this was not Pono at all and they had no aloha for being a store in Hawaii. He didn't care in the least. I told him I hoped that $60 sale was worth it and that I planned to warn others about this on social media. So fair warning to anyone shopping at this LeSportsac: NO REFUNDS. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. The girlfriend and my mom love these bags. The colorful prints, light weight, and playful style of the bags have something to do with it. You can see it in all the women's faces that walk in here... "Kawaiiiiii!" their expressions scream. Luckily, the Tokidoki craze came and went like a thunderstorm. Me, I'm just glad they have two places to sit. Once you find a bag you like, they disappear and then magically come back with several different variations of the same bag you asked them to look for. The difference in prints can add to the variation and look of the bag that you desire. We never had any issue getting any help from the little old ladies with the Nihonjin accents. You ask, they magically find. For the collector, they carry Hawaii themed prints that are exclusively only found in Hawaii Le Sportsac stores. After looking at other reviews I am glad that I am not the only local who has experienced a lack of customer service from their associates. I'm haole too, so for all they know I could be a tourist too but they don't seem to care. I hate it when a store's employees are all over you, asking if you need help a zillion times. A hello is sufficient and thats all I need, if I need help I will ask and hope that the employees will be willing to answer my questions. That did not happen in this store. I was not greeted when I came in. I spent a bunch of time rifling through their purses because their price tag is always in a pocket but in some items it is not apparent which one. None of the employees seemed interested in helping me or answering questions, they were much more into trailing Japanese tourists. The one thing that saves them from getting 1 star is the fact that their stuff is really cute and when I finally approached the counter with what I wanted to buy they brought out several unwrapped versions of the bags so I could pick out what pattern I wanted as well as ones that had not been handled by everyone in the store. I know stores at Ala Moana get a lot of tourists but I'm sure a lot more locals shop here than in Waikiki and they need to be sure to cater to the local population as well. read more

I still think it's kind of weird that an actual Lesportsac store carries less of the Tokidoki line than Nordstrom, (who make up for their small amount of stock by carrying a lot more variety)... Most "in the know" people don't buy Tokidoki for Lesportsac online. Everyone SHOULD know that the bags with the worst swatches of fabric are reserved for online purchases. Anyway, their collection for Summer 2007 (Spiaggia) is very Hawaiian and worth a look. Some of the swatches have surfers, hula girls, dolphins, and several kinds of tropical fish. I dunno, they just SCREAMED Hawaii to me. And they make good souvenirs since I have yet to see an official Lesportsac location anywhere else. For a particular style, only a few are displayed outside, even though they carry around 30 or so of each in the back. If you're interested in a certain style in a certain print, be sure to ask to see the rest of what they have. This will ensure that you pick the best swatch. Unfortunately, no one offers this to you upfront, which is a bit disappointing. I ended up purchasing portatelephono in Spiaggi print. And after combing through about 20 of them, I found one with the cutest little unicorn. They also had one with a tiny Bambi, so it was a tough choice. It ended up costing me a little over $100, which I think is a bit pricey. I mean, I'm only going to use it to hold my Sidekick... I give this location three stars because they were locking up while I was being rung up at the register. My friends were waiting outside behind a set of double glass doors. Well, one of the women working decided that locking this door and having me exit through the opposite end was somehow appropriate thinking. I asked if they could quickly open it again so I wouldn't have to walk all the way around. They said no. Personally, I think that's very rude. I love LeSportsac and have a bunch of different styles and designs already. They are casual, lightweight, and durable (cute designs too), which works for me since I spend most of my time running around the kids (I save my designer purses for weekends, date nights, and GNOs). I came here to check out their Hawaii exclusive designs, and was immediately greeted by a helpful English speaking employee (the rest were Japanese speaking, so maybe hubby and I looked local or mainlander enough, I dunno). She showed me 5 Hawaiian designs (Moana Ahe, Mele Ukulele, Lei Aloha, Wahine Hula, and Paradise Bloom), which were all pretty, but not what I was looking for. Then I saw this black one with flowers embroidered on...Le Petite Bouquet. It kind of resembles the Hello Daisy embroidery that is on their online website now, but it has a gray floral design all over the black, as well as blue, purple, light and dark pink flowers embroidered on it. The design is exclusive to Hawaii and Guam (but doesn't look Hawaiian), and it also comes in exclusive styles as well. Some of the styles were on backorder, so I ended up getting the Edna, which is a small crossbody with a matching pouch ($89). I also got the matching tissue case ($28; non-embroidered $20), which looks like a zippered coin pouch with a slot in front to put a pack of tissue in. Yes, they are pricey, especially the embroidered ones, so I usually wait until they go on sale at Macy's or their online store, or go to their outlet if I'm in Vegas, but some of the Hawaii exclusives can't be found online or anywhere else so I made an exception :) read more

I love their bags. They never wear out, the construction of the bags is utilitarian and although as I male, I don't think I'll ever carry the patterned ones, I can wear the plain black cross-body ones without feeling effeminate. I have always found the staff to be efficient, since I know I am not buying a pattern it always comes down to size so I tell them what I want and they show me the selection to meet that request. and when chosen bring a wrapped one from under-stock. The store definitely has a Japanese feel. Most/all of the staff are bilingual and the sign at the cash register proudly states that they accept yen. I just learned as I was writing this review that Le SportSac is a business unit of Itochu Corp. a Japanese conglomerate. In keeping with Japanese business culture there is never any small-talk or chattiness. Some reviewers are put-off by this difference in commercial demeanor, but it is just part of the cultural differences that make the world an interesting place. I wonder if the stores on the mainland also have bilingual staff, accept yen and maintain the earnest poise? read more

Lack of customer service and Bad service attitude. My parents bought a bag about 30 days ago and the bag strap started to tear off. We visited and asked one of the employees about the repair or the exchange. It was a Japanese man. He could not speak English well (This is not a problem). The problem is! He only said "No!" several times without any explanation about our questions. At least, He could explain their policy or they cannot repair this so we need to visit sewing shop whatever. My dad who never even complaint is upset at him. We can accept if you explain your company's policy. However, Do you think your customer service is right? I have a lot of Japanese tourists who shop at this shop and we've recommended to visit there. I will never recommend visiting this shop to my friends and customers. read more

Been here many times over the years but recently frequent this location quite a bit. First off I have to say Tokidoki is back in the store!! Whee such music to my ears, my eye candy!! I also love that the sales people aren't pushy at all, instead are helpful and assist you in "finding the perfect print placement" on your Tokidoki or Lesportsac bag!! They're pretty cool about that! Today it took like 30 minutes to figure out the perfect placement of my Macaroons bag! My last visit was trying to decide on the Spring Cherry Blossom Tokidoki line and that alone took 45minutes+?! Anywho, any true Tokidoki fan knows what I'm talking about! Placement is super crucial! Crucial for me especially I'll be staring at my bag forever!! My friend's recent negative experience here prompted me to write this review. I completely forgot to yelp this one last summer. I love Hawaii for the friendliness of the people. What happened to the Aloha spirit here at this store? It's seriously lacking. BOTH times I've been to this location, the attitude from the younger salespeople had been curt and snooty. Is it really that much of a pain to have to ring me up? My friends can attest, I'm so low maintenance. Gimme a break, we're talking about overpriced nylon bags. Good grief, this ain't Chanel or Burberry. Despite this, I still want to help support Hawaii's tourist economy by at the very least purchasing my "bi-annual" souvenir bags. Lesportsac truly took the meaning of revamping to a whole new scale! I absolutely adore the TOki DoKI line and have spent way too much money on this stuff but you only live once right? Besides it is only a fraction of what you would spend on a new Gucci or LV right? *giggle* To keep our excitement going, my pal and I have switched our bags to keep us having that "new" bag feeling alive until another design tickles our fancy again. I love the details of the tokidoki bags-the zipper, the character charm that comes with each bag, the zipper pull things, the buckles and straps. The salesperson told us that they can't take it back because they don't carry that particular print, and suggested we try the Waikiki store! WTF?!?!?! A LeSportsac product, purchased from a LeSportsac store, and you can't take it back?! They wouldn't even call the Waikiki store to find out if they carried that print. This review is for their tokidoki line: I love LeSportsac especially when they had Simone Legno tokidoki for LeSportsac super KAWAII! I even had some of my bags signed and drawn by the artist himself the time he came down here to launch his last and final line back in november 2009. Besides tokidoki LeSportsac does have some other nice bags some of the prints are really cute and stylish more of a casual everyday use. This store clearly prefers Japanese tourists above anyone else. I went in without any greetings from anyone. I look around without anyone asking if I need some assistance. I'm fine without any attention from any of the employees there, but what I cannot stand is the way one of the sales associate treated me. There's this associate there, looks like in her early 30s; skinny; around 5'2; with jet-black, long, straight hair and thick black eyebrows. She was passing my way when I asked her how much a certain bag costs. Her answer: "$70, the price is inside the front pocket.". She answered me in such a hurry that she didn't even bothered to stop and talk to me properly. She was in a hurry to cater those Japanese tourists who just entered the store. She follows those tourists around the entire store but doesn't care about assisting me. She was passing my way again when I asked about the sale items. Again, she answered me really quickly and was in a hurry to get away from me to go after her beloved (Japanese tourist) customers who weren't even buying anything. I then spoke to my sister in Filipino and told her that I do not like how I am being treated by that sales associate. I think the sales associate may have understood Filipino because when I said that, she looked at me and my sister. She stared at us for a really long time. I was really interested in buying something during that visit but because of that sales associate, I decided not to. I do not like any commission to go to her after how she treated me. If I ever want to buy anything from Lesportsac, I'm going to their Waikiki stores instead. read more

I've been a fan on Lesportsac every since Simone Legno started his Tokidoki line with them waaaaay back. I actually bought the first Tokidoki-Lesportsac bag here when I was vacation in Oahu. I still have that bag in GREAT condition!!! I even met him awhile back and he autographed it for me and even said that that was his favorite print!!! YES, I thought it was THE BEST print in that line! I'm so sad that they don't carry it anymore. Like any Tokidoki Lover knows, print placement is KEY when you buy a bag, as every bag is different. So I literally had them take out ALL the bags of the one I wanted out, so that I could look at the placement, because there were particular characters that I wanted prominent and front and center on my bag. They salespeople did not hesitate to do that for me, and yes it took me about 30-40 minutes to find my PERFECT bag. Another thing is that they have a lot of sales here. They have always gently told me which bags were on sale, in case I was interested. They do get a lot of tourists here, especially Japanese tourists since they love the brand, but I've always been kindly acknowledged whenever I entered. Whenever I visit Ala Moana, I always make a stop here to check out their merchandise. They have quite a few prints that are only available in Hawaii, so it's MUST that I take a look at them. read more

Came with my wife as she was looking for a bag to hold workout items. They seem to have some nice designs but they are horribly overpriced. They are even more expensive then their own website and for what you pay, the quality isn't there. Thin fabric and plastic hardware (bag strap clips). Go elsewhere. read more

I am going to admit that I didn't get to buy anything from LeSportSac in Waikiki when I was there, but I completely loved all of their bags. I couldn't get my husband to let me spend anymore money ;) But the staff here was pretty friendly, and everything was very neat and modern looking. The wares seemed very durable and long lasting. I'm not the type of gal to spend more than $25 on a purse, so I realize I was shopping in the wrong store, but it was fun just to look. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a cute, good quality, and unique item carrier! read more

First time at this LeSportsac store and received great customer service! I wanted a particular cosmetic bag in an exclusive Hawaiian print. I asked to see other bags (besides the two on the floor) as I wanted to pick out the bag with my favorite print placement. None of the bags have prices on them. You have to talk to a worker who will give you any random number for the price. Seems pretty sketchy/shady business. read more
