Ok. So I HAVE TO give it up for my current home towns mall. Although it's NOT LIKE BEFORE... still, we have one PLACE that NEVER LEFT YET AND I HOPE IT NEVER WILL, SACK N SAVE!!!
Now this place was once a super busy area. "Once upon a time...." LOL!! No but seriously, once upon a time there was Chevron, KMart, Sack N Save, Checker Auto Parts, Office Max, Jamba Juice, Starbucks & McDonalds. Now, we only have Sack N Save & McDonalds. Chevron changed to Texaco. KMart closed down, Checkers turned into O'Reillys, Office Max moved and became Auto Zone and Jamba Juice & Starbucks moved to Stadium Mall. Since all these changes, this place has been DEAD. Ehhh... steady, but dead. We had crowds coming in left and right from ALL OVER when we had these places here. Why? Because it's right smack in the middle of everywhere. So if people are traveling from town to Westbound, they come thru Salt Lake Blvd... BOOM!! We"re here!! Gas, food, groceries, home/garden & office/school supplies, a light snack or picker upper & your outtah here. I was easy. Then it's right across of the Mall where there's MORE VARIETY of FOODS. So, yea... this place is a great place to have a business. But, it'll have to be a business that the neighborhood, community & people from outside would LOVE to go to.
Auto Zone is OVER RATED. They're worst than Checkers! I had a guy help me with fuses. He did ok. But... he sold me an item that was $13 when I could've bought one for $6. I assuming they get commission on what they sell. I mean I get it, you're trying to make money. But DAMN... to take advantage of a woman because she wasn't too sure which fuse she should get. The only reason why I knew was because I use to work for an auto shop. So... when I came in asking him questions, he was like "oh no... that's not the one you need, you need this one." Good thing I went to my box, checked it first before opening the packet. He WAS wrong. I COULD get the $6 one.
Other than Sack N Save, the place is changing. There's no more that customer service anymore. Everything is business and sell, sell, sell!! Even Chevron. Oops!! I mean Texaco. The workers there too aren't as friendly. It's as if they're just there to work now. Before, they would smile all around and greet you as you walk into the doors. Now, they just stand there and stare and then when you do get to the counter, THEN they smile. If your lucky to get one. Not unless your a regular, like me... then they'll talk up a storm. Other than that, they wont say much anymore. They use to be happy working. I'd see 4-5 of them when switching shifts and they ALL would be cleaning the pumps, parking lot, windows, stocking and whatnot. But now... it's every man for their own I guess.
I'm sorry if this review isn't too positive. But after living here for 15+ years... you'd see changes that aren't good for the community.
Mahalo for your time and have a good day. Aloha!! read more
