It's horrible. They refused to do warranty work and wanted to charge for parts, labor, and diagnostics. Don't buy from them! So glad I stopped into this store after my favorite locally owned pool supply store closed. Vanesia was super helpful testing our water, recommending some chemistry, and helping buy a much better cleaner than the one recommended by our pool person at roughly the same price. The following is my second update of my review on Leslies: True to thier word, Leslies came out today and swapped my underpowered 1.5 hp pump for a more applicable 3.0 hp intelliflow - while I was more than happy to pay the difference in cost, LESLIES INSTALLED IT FOR FREE! A well deserved Thank You to Brad who was my tech. He answered all of my questions and was very courtious in doing so! Lessons learned file: Request a site survey whenever you are dealing with equipment. There are many factors involved in doing so. My case: my passive solar panels are 100+ feet from my equipment, and as such, a more powerful pump is required. Thank you Leslies in how you solved my problem!!! read more

We first shopped at Leslie's for pool supplies when we lived in North Las Vegas over a decade ago. This location in Mira Mesa is convenient to our current home in Santaluz. The store staff is quite knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. Their advice on everything from balancing water chemicals to repairing our pool cleaner has been invaluable. Prices on pool supplies are reasonable. I've also used Leslie's Pool Service for pool equipment repairs, most recently replacing a Hayward pump that gave up the ghost with a Pentair IntelliFlo variable speed pump. Scheduling is easy, and quality of service has been great. read more

I don't typically write reviews but my experience here was so amazing I couldn't not write one. Not only was this store organized and well kept, the lady who assisted me went above and beyond to make sure I received everything necessary and helped me better understand my pool system! Vennessia is beyond knowledgeable and kind. You don't come by workers as dedicated as her very often and Leslie has gained a loyal customer because of this young lady's work ethic. Have been shopping at Leslie's Mira Mesa for 20 years. I believe we should have been treated better considering the Muriatic Acid I bought in April went bad almost immediately after opening it. Opened it and added it and then a couple weeks later went to add some more and the cap had turned black. Two weeks later went to use again and this time the lid was black and smoking and the acid was a different color - possibly due to the black stuff coming from the cap. Decided to stop using this one and moved onto the 2nd one and figured that must have been a fluke. Again 2 weeks later went to add a little more acid (we have a salt water pool) and again this one is starting to turn black. Then again after another few weeks this one is really black and so we felt it was important to show Leslie's what was going on. The acid was not yet as discolored as the other. When I went to take the cap off the dark colored one it literally blew off. I went to Leslie's Mira Mesa Leslie's to show it to them and complain. I have never seen this assistant manager and he was refusing to take it to dispose of it and said it was beyond the 30 day period. That he had no way to dispose of it. He also said he couldn't confirm if I was storing it wrong. This was really insulting since I have been doing this for 20+ years and storing it the same way - in the garage away from other chemicals. He could see on the computer I'm not a new customer and we've spent thousands of dollars here. It is the company that is selling bad acid or the packaging is bad. There is a little paper in the inside top of the cap, but it doesn't come out and I didn't want to dig my finger up in there not knowing if it should come out or not. I'm furious at Leslie's for not taking this back. It is dangerous for me to have at my house and I don't know how to get rid of it. Was this really worth losing a customer who has shopped there for over 20 years? We have always had a positive relationship and I've referred neighbors and friends there. Now they will hear a different tune from me. I refused to get the $269 pool basketball volleyball set there which bumed my husband out, but we managed to find it at another place. I'll never spend another penny there. I hope it was worth the $20 not to take this back and make things right. To say you can't dispose of it was a lie. If it was within the 30 day period they would have taken it back and disposed of it. You are selling something dangerous and needed to take it back. Buyer beware! I cannot say enough nice things about NICOLE (Mgr) at this location. We purchased a pool vacuum in 12/2020 and were supposed to get a rebate. Fast forward of a year trying to get the rebate from Hayward we are yet to receive it. However, we reached out to store mgr over a month ago and she's been diligently working with Hayward to help with getting rebate. I gave 5 stars because not only was Nicole very helpful, she's been following up with me to see if I have received my rebate! Excellent service has been hard to find these days and I feel Nicole has been going above and beyond for us (the customer)! This spot is near our house, so we came here for our pool needs when we moved in. First meeting was asking them if they provided pool cleaning services. They didn't, but referred us to Stephen's Pool Cleaners. We've used them for 6 months and it's been a disaster. $100/month and our pool is green with algae now. My husband decides to take care of the pool himself, so he goes over there and they walked him through the steps. So we complete the required steps. Then we go back the next day and do the PH thing with the water and the older gentleman there tried to sell us a bunch of other chemicals we didn't need. We felt ripped off and upsold since the first guy never said that. This would be zero stars, but at least the first gentleman was honest. read more

We are new to pool maintenance, but knew the previous owners of our house used Leslie Pools to monitor the water. The time between when the previous owners had moved out and we moved in, the pool had gone green with algae. We decided to hire a pool service. The people at Leslie Pools gave us two names and we called Sean at Executive Pool & Spa service. He came out right away and has been great at keeping our pool looking awesome. He noticed our salt water cell was bad and was still under warranty and ordered us a new one. I think his fee is reasonable and totally worth the knowledge-base he comes with. We love having a pool and Sean takes away all of the stress of pool maintenance. read more

I walked into this store with my two kids and a total focus on my list of items to purchase. As soon as we walked through the door, the employee stared at my kids with a dirty look. (the one you get from people who don't have children and have no patience or appreciation for them). Although you'd think he would be the one to greet me as the customer, it was I who had to say hello. He returned my friendly gesture with a nod and some sort of grunt. I told my kids to look and not touch, and they obliged. Yet, rather than helping me with my search for supplies, the guy was watching them like a hawk. It was as though he was awaiting the moment when they would grab an item and he could scold them. That never happened. I eventually thumbed through the catalog on my own and found my filter and other items. As I was checking out at the counter, I asked him a few questions, and I have to say that he really did know his stuff. This is why I reluctantly give this business 2 stars, instead of 1. I have to give him some credit for knowing his products and helping me to get the correct chemicals so that I could maintain my pool. But the service was so unfriendly and offensive that it ruined my experience. I will not return to this store in the future. Pool and spa materials are not cheap, so I refuse to hand that kind of money to someone who thinks it's acceptable to treat his customers that way. read more

Luis was very helpful with my water reading. My water was off a bit due to winter shutdown for pool. He provided sound advice for my current situation as I had very low chlorine and low Ph re. Also provided good tips for pool filter cartridge cleaning. Pool is now perfect swimming condition and we are ready for Summer! read more

I walked into the store with a toddler and was greeted by a man saying "I'll be with you as soon as I can." No big deal so I walked around the store checking out their supplies for sale as I waited. Meanwhile another man entered the store floor and started working with the first salesman. They were both working on the phone and computer with the same customer on the phone. After waiting 15 minutes or a little more, I had enough and left. A customer in your store should always be put before one on the phone, especially when there two employees. It was rude and inconsiderate for the shopper in the store, and especially one trying to entertain a toddler. I refuse to give my support to a business like this and will go out of my way to another pool supply store to get quality customer service. read more

I had to fire my pool service company and wanted to understand more about pools myself. I stopped by Lesli's on my way from work with a sample of my pool water. Their new store manager Naomi tested the water and explained me the test results. She was very nice and took the time explaining me the water chemistry. He took the time to explain all my options and explained in very understandable terms what the issues were with my water and how to best treat them. I am a new spa owner and knew nothing about how to treat our spa with Chemicals. I walked into Leslie's Pool Supplies and Service and was greeted with a wonderful Hello and smile ALWAYS! Namoi and her team of employee's has always been friendly and kind. They have (Namoi) helped me learn how to take care of our new spa I got from Costco. It is a small spa and it was a challenge for me to learn how to keep the correct Chemicals in their and make it safe to use. Because it is spa was new to me and the chemicals where always changing due to the many new uses of our new wonderful spa. Namoi and her wonderful and knowledgeable staff was always their to help and teach me how to take care of our spa. I was in their about everyday for a month testing our spa water to get it right and they where always their to help and teach. I am so glad I chose to go to this store (mira mesa) when I could of gone any where or pool stores to test my spa water. They have taught me so much I now go in once or twice a week to test our spa and understand how this little but wonderful spa works.Their where times I wondered why I got the Spa. But, because of all their help and positive reinforcement that I can do this and figure out all the chemicals to this new spa. I did after a month figured it out with all their help how to do it. I can only THANK Namoi and her wonderful team for all their kind and very knowledgeable staff for all their help. Because of Namoi and her team our family was able to use the Spa everyday throughout my learn curve and to this Day we all enjoy our little spa and are so glad we got it at Costco and I chose Leslie's Pool Supplies and Service in MiraMesa,Ca. to help me with the Chemicals and care of our spa. I called this store today to get a price on installing a variable speed pool pump. The guy told me a price for the pump that was more than the price online. I asked him why the price difference and he couldn't answer but eventually he said that there had been a price increase. I asked him the difference between the 2 models and he said he didn't know so I asked to speak to someone who did know. He said and I quote "what are you talking about, I'm the manager here and I've been doing this a long time" I told him that he was offending a customer and he said "you offended me" and he hung up. The guys name was Kyle. The products at Leslies are available online for a lot cheaper but I often like to get prices from Leslies because its often worth the extra for the expertise and easy warranty repairs if necessary. This guy clearly doesn't understand why people shop at the store. I have to question a company who hires someone so clueless. I called Leslies main number and spoke to a lady who was very nice. She seemed surprised by the incident and told me that she would have the district manager call me to answer my questions. I have not yet heard from this person. read more

Came for advice to set up a small spa and was told to use 1" chlortabs and now my spa is high in chlorine. Went to another of their stores here in San Diego and was told this product is not for spas but for pools. Only use one tablet that is still pretty much intact since I used it for 5 hours. Went back and they admit they made a mistake but unfortunately cannot take the product back using as an excuse California waste disposal law. At least give me my money back or a gift back. This is unacceptable. Even if it is for a full useless bucket of 45$. It is your mistake, be accountable for what you sell and the advice you provide. Not only I would never go back, I will tell my neighbors, colleagues and file a claim on the Better Business Bureau Agency. It is not about the money, it is about being a responsible business and not to sell wrong products to people and take advantage from a law that it was not supposed to allow you to seek wrong products to customers without a return. No wonder he insisted in getting the big bucket even though I got a small spa. read more
