The problem I have is with their ridiculous return policy . I went there and bought two pieces of 1-in pipe I bought two because I didn't want to make another trip back over there if I needed both so they said return it if you don't need it so I did the next day . The day before when I bought them I paid for them with cash this is where the problem lies . If you pay for them with cash and don't take them back the same day the refund amount will be sent to you in check form . The reason I paid with cash is so I didn't have to give all my information to them. So long and behold to get a check mailed to me for the refund amount I had to give them all the information you'd think they'd be able to just refund my money right there on the spot but no apparently not this is why I probably will not do business with them again . I mean if you have to wait God knows how long for them to send you a $9 check why should you even bother taking it in for a refund ?

An associate by the name of Mike F., has been an excellent resource in helping me in a couple of very important projects. Today was no exception. I'm building a new shop in my back yard and since the shop has a loft, I needed someone to help me put together a plan for a pully system a little more complicated than just a basic system. Explaining to Mike what I was wanting to accomplish, he completely understood that this wasn't just a basic shop I was building and that I wanted to add a little more "cool factor" to the hatch lid system. Probably not a big deal to many, but for some of us, it helps to display our craftsmanship a little better. Mike, who has excellent people skills, takes great pride in his personal appearance and writes with a fountain pen, is very unique and really stands out in today's world of business associates. He started building the system as we spoke and as we were gathering materials, he explained not only the how, but the whys behind every piece while putting it together. In the end, I had a much better, robust and cooler pulley system than I had originally imagined, and it's going to be an awesome addition to the shop. Thanks Mike! Still no response. The next day I reached Amanda by phone; she said their prices were typically low and they wouldn't be undersold. I told her I had gotten a quote in California but that I would prefer to do business locally and avoid the freight charge. She did respond with an email quote very quickly; it was at least 30% higher than a quote I had from a California retailer INCLUDING a freight charge to ship to Virgin, Utah. When I let her know initially that she was high, she told me to send a written quote with the competitive pricing and that - once again - they wouldn't be undersold. That didn't feel ethical or fair to the salesperson who had worked hard to provide the lower price. Additionally, why should I do their work for them? Look elsewhere.

I also noted I would understand either way, but to please respond so I could go elsewhere if they did not. That was two months ago and no one at Buck's has shown the courtesy to respond. So much for shopping locally with a store like Bucks.
