I have been a regular here since they opened on Dixie Dr. In the beginning I was disappointed with their plant selection as it was more big box than local nursery. Over the past few years it has been so great to see their improvement. More plants and trees for our environment. Better selection of low chill hour fruit trees and perennials. I bought a bag from the 3.5 inch rock yard again and again full of dirt. I can't take the rock from the bag because of all the dirt compacted around the rock so I have to dump dirt and rocks into a wheel barrow and have to sift out the dirt to install the rocks in my yard. I love this location but they don't warranty their plants. I purchased an Apple tree and six months later it show signs of disease. The nursery informed me that they only warranty for 30 days. I wasted my money on an Apple tree which they most likely were aware that they were selling diseased products. read more

We purchased and had delivered a tree from them. After the our help planted the tree we noticed the brown spots that was on the leave was getting worse and leaves were drying out and falling off. These spots were also on other trees at Star Nursery. I used the plant parent app and it said it was a fungus. We called and got a young teen after being asked what can be done she said she would ask her manager. The manager told her to come and buy one of their fungicide but the girl wasn't sure which one. The Nursery sold us a diseased tree and the manager doesn't even have the customer service skills to get on the phone and address the problem. HOw many other people are they selling defective stock to since they are the expert on what is diseased and what isn't. Well the tree dies I will deal with them meanwhile I will find a fungicide elsewhere and not give more of my money. I will also advise anyone considering them to not buy Live stock from them. read more

I was in there gathering some plants, asked a man who was watering if he knew where the oleanders were. He looked at me like deer in the headlights and asked what's an oleander? Ummm what? You don't know one of the most sold plants at your store? So I then asked where the red yuccas were and he said ummmm I think they're over there. I found a young lady working and asked her for some help to grab a box tree, she was so kind and so quick to help me. I showed her the tree I wanted and she grabbed it no hesitation. Shop at the sunset store, way better customer service and better looking plants. I didn't like the way the century plants and grasstree's looked so went to sunset and of course they were beautiful and the employee knew where the plants I needed were. read more

I love this nursery! They are short staffed because of the virus, but they still keep this nursery dialed in! Even in the heat, they seem to always have beautiful flowers in stock. The nice blonde haired girl on the patio watering plants was quick to guide me in the right direction for what I needed. Love shopping here! read more

I would like to edit my previous review. My wife and I have shopped at the Telegraph, Sunset Blvd. and Mesquite locations. Recently we were on Dixie Drive and decided to look around for some specific items. Found 'em. Set up a delivery time and paid (over $150). Delivery window came and went so I called. After 5 calls I finally reached a driver who said, "We don't have specific windows. The items will be delivered sometime today." So I'm supposed to sit and wait for 8-10 hours? BS! read more

Although the employees are friendly they are not very knowledgeable about the plants or tree's. AND, they also do not offer any type of warranty on the they sell. After buying a $200.00 pine and getting home I called the store to ask about warranty since I forgot to ask at the time I was their and they said if you plant it and it dies even after a week I'm S.O.L. We usually plant our garden mid February. Our local nursery didn't have a lot of what I wanted and actually recommended that I go to Star. Star has quite the variety of veggies that I was looking for. I was really impressed at how low their prices are too. My kids had fun being toted around in the wagon as I filled it up. I needed a lot of top soil. I call and talked to the guy and said I could come tomorrow, (this was on a Saturday), since I told him I couldn't make it out there today. I borrowed a truck and drove all the way out here from Hurricane, just to be told that the rock yard was closed today! so I did all of that for nothing. No empathy either. Of course I was told that I could buy the bags of it. Which of course I reminded them that I needed more then that. Or that I could pay $45 to have it delivered. That's why I borrowed a truck to come all the way out here to get it. I wasn't the only one either. There were at least 3 other people that came in needing supplies from the rock yard just to be told that it was closed and they thought it was open. Obviously they need to not tell people they're open on Sunday when they aren't, and communicate that information through employees, their signs, their "open business" hours sign and media places like their website cause apparently lots of people don't know that. read more

Massive selection, including plenty of landscaping plants and products, all of your necessary supplies, and a larger than average selection of vegetable garden plants arriving each February. Prices are somewhat higher than the big chains, but for the most part it's locally owned, treats employees well, and has plants you won't find elsewhere. Also, this location has a large rock yard. Service is always friendly and helpful here. Lines are long on Saturdays. They open early, but close early too which is annoying. It would be nice if they'd open on Sunday like their Vegas locations. Overall, I enjoy shopping here. It's clean and organized, feels a bit like a botanical garden. read more

I had gone into star nursery with some questions about my plant they were ever so kind to help me answer all of my questions. I then looked at a few other plants they were so beautiful and there was so many pretty colors. I had found a plant that I really like but it was to heavy for me to carry so I had asked a young gentlemen to help me he was super nice he didn't just carry it to the front but all the way to my car and even helped me load it up. Weather it be fertilizer, garden tools, etc., etc., Driving from one location to another and sales associates are clueless. Star Nursery in Henderson, Nevada catches the vision and is top notch. The people here are dense as dirt, slower than a snail and as difficult as a walk in the desert. Ask for advice if you can find someone and you'll get a blank stare. Their computer system never seems to be up to date causing slow checkouts and forget about getting a simple problem resolved. The only and I say only reason to come here is the quality of the plants. Unfortunately, this is the only nursery in town. They have turned me and my husband away more than once when we've needed to purchase top soil or rock because they supposedly didn't have anyone to work the equipment since they decided to close a half hour early. The owner doesn't seem to care how his business is run because this has been an ongoing issue for years with many residents and business owners in the area who are stuck using this company for gardening and landscaping needs. Worst customer service, no greetings from any employee and when asking for help they look at you like you're a bother. Claiming to be under staffed but having 2 people on 1 register is ridiculous. Normally I like the products and the service I receive, however when I was charged $4.58 for two bags of Steer Manure, which were labeled $1.99 per bag I found that unethical. I questioned the employee about it. He replied he was sorry. They received an email from management a few hours ago and didn't' have time to change the sign. I never received a refund. If your going to change the price on your customers change the sale sign first. read more

Star Nursery has really gone down hill. They don't stand behind their product. They don't want to hear customer complaints. They have no interest in making things right in the eyes of the customer. After reading the other reviews I don't feel out of line for being so dissatisfied with this store. Bought a Mulbery which was marked at $39.00. The clerk rang it up at $59.00 Told her the sign said $39.00. She didn't believe me-went back to the display and sure enough it was $39.00. I had bought one the day before for $39.00 but when I got home and checked my receipt they had charged me $59.00. I called and she assured me they would honor the price and to come back for an adjustment credit. Went back the next day and the Manager (?!?) said too bad, the sign was miss-marked and besides it's been taken down. I was buying one more but he said that one would be $59.00 and that price was $5.00 below their cost. The man would not look me in the eye and rudely walked away. We are new to town and have met nothing but friendly, cordial people but this guy takes the cake. We haven't been to Lowes, Home Depot, or Ballards yet but rest assured we will not give this guy/store one more penny of our business. We felt like this BOZO was making up excuses for their ineptitude-We didn't miss-mark the plants; THEY DID. How sad that they are so well off that they can treat people this way. Items are way over priced and I don't mind paying a few dollars more for something unique or excellent customer service. This is not the case at this location, inside staff were all rude including male and female management. Will not shop here again even for sale items and would not recommend to anyone. went in 2 weeks ago looking for buffalo junipers. after talking to 2 people, they asked someone who seemed to know what that was, she said they didn't have any. one of the other people took my name and phone # and told me they would check with their las vegas stores and see if some could be sent to them. I asked them for 4 5 gallon plants. I just called 3 star nurseries in las vegas, they all had them in stock. never got a call back in 2 weeks. never going to this star again. terrible customer service. read more
