Man, I loved this shop until I talked to the bald guy with tattoos (who upon looking at their Instagram is the owner of the shop). I've actually never met anyone behind the counter of a plant shop who was as aggressive or terse as this guy lol it's almost comical. I had bought a decent amount of plants from here about a year ago and they were doing great so I decided to stop in and get them repotted. I asked the man at the front desk how the repotting works and he was very condescending, short and sassy. I understand having a personality but when I asked "if I bought the plant here is there still a repotting fee" he said "congratulations on buying the plant here and supporting local" in the rudest way possible. I have no issue paying a repotting fee I was just asking for clarification and he decided that was the perfect time to be rude lol it was the weirdest thing. When I said I was taken aback by his attitude he continued to escalate. Anyway, you can easily just buy plants elsewhere and skip the condescending man who works here and owns the shop. read more

Moss and Timber is an absolute hidden gem that St. George is lucky to have. They have some amazing cacti, succulents and plants that you would never find elsewhere. They provide immense help potting and have extensive knowledge and understanding of each plant. They also provide great advice and information for plant care and can do the potting for you, making it much easier for both, the novice and the expert. The prices are great as well. They carry some rare gems that are hard to find. Great staff and they are always helpful, whether browsing, getting advice, or help with a new purchase. Always fun to stop in and check out the new stuff as well. read more

We were new to town and saw good reviews, so we went to check it out. The person working was rude and condescending. We didn't realize this was for indoor plants only. So when we asked about roses, instead of nicely saying they don't carry outside plants, he treated us like we were idiots. I will never go back. I'll go to Starr, where the employees are friendly and helpful. read more

This place is so incredible. The state of the plants and varieties offered are truly to die for. The customer service however is abysmal. The blonde gentlemen with the glasses ought to consider a different job. He was glib and pretentious and dismissive. Maybe that attitude works at an art gallery in Portland, but you work in a plant shop, my dude. Lighten up. read more

I THOUGHT I knew what I was doing with my indoor plants but it was pretty humbling to stand at the counter and watch the master at work. Moss and Timber, while pricey, really teaches you how to pot, take care of and nurture your plant. It's true you can get something cheaper at WalMart or maybe Home Depot, but you're on your own getting it to survive and live it's best life. Then, once it's bent it's little head, brown and shriveled and you're giving its last rites, you're just headed back to WalMart or Home Depot for its sister. SO, I ask you. Are you really saving much money? Knowledge is power! read more

I was initially pleased with this shop and with the gentleman who helped me with purchasing a beautiful carved wood "trough" planter. He took time with me to suggest appropriate plants that he said he would later install for me if I brought the trough back with my receipt. When I brought the planter & receipt back to the shop, a different gentleman was there. He rudely acknowledged that he could (reluctantly) do the planting for me but that he didn't have many plants that would be appropriate for my north facing indirect light planned location. He was flippant, disinterested, discourteous, and basically communicated his disagreeable attitude toward me and my adult granddaughter who was with me. I ended up asking for a refund for the $200 wooden planter and leaving. As others said, they are very expensive and with the potential for the horribly rude person being on duty, I won't patronize them again. read more

The selection is pretty average, with a lot of common and uncommon varieties of plants, however, the prices are outrageous. Star Nursery carries most of the same varieties of plants for half the price. Super cute store but unfortunately just for looks. read more

I love this store, it's so well kept with beautiful, healthy plants. I've gotten beautiful plants here and love that the owner and employees are incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. I've been collecting plants for awhile and love rare varieties and have found the pricing to be really fair on everything I've looked for. Super cool store and worth a visit! read more

Although it is a beautiful store and they have a very interesting selection it was very over price. the 4" pots depending on the species of plant we're from 10$ and way higher and i was very surprised because i usually plant shop at star nursery and almost all of there 4" plants are 4$ - 6$ so i was very surprised and i had a hard time shopping especially when the pots they had were very similar or the exact same but they were about double the price. i'm very surprised about how over priced there inventory was. the employees were pretty nice but really just stood there and talked to each other instead of offering to help like most places. personally i wasn't impressed and probably won't be going back. read more

He is extremely knowledgable on every plant in his shop, and ensures you know the exact needs of each plant you purchase. If you purchase a pot and a plant, he also offers a free potting service! I drove forty minutes across town to visit Moss & Timber today. I was looking for large plants, and saw a few I was interested in, but needed assistance, as they were heavy and inaccessible. I made my presence known to the two employees present, but they didn't acknowledge me. I was patient because there were two customers ahead of me, but after they had left, I was the only one there. The employees both walked right past me and went about their business without any acknowledgement. I was ready to drop a good amount of money in this place, as I've done in the past, but after the way I was treated, I will never return. read more

This is a lovely shop full of a wide variety of indoor plants. There are also plenty of planting vessels and rooted clippings of out-of-the-ordinary plants for sale. The gentleman running the shop knew his stuff and was able to make plenty of helpful recommendations. I bought a few pots and a dwarf African Violet. As I was checking out, the gentleman potted my flower in the new pot for me, which was a pleasant surprise. I loved the shop and will be back as I grow my potted collection. read more

Hi! Im Paislea & I am a plant addict. I spend every free minute of my time doing research, visiting shops, stalking plant Instagram accounts & adding to my growing collection. I came across Moss & Timber on Instagram a few months ago & completely fell in love. Moss & Timber is one of the coolest plant shops I have ever laid my eyes on. Ever. The layout & attention to detail in the merchandising of the items is immaculate. And the plants are healthy, happy & well taken care of. So, my husband & I visit St George a few times a year to see family & we made a special trip last weekend just to visit the store to pick up a rare plant that has been on my wishlist for months. We chatted with Shane who gave us tips about how to best care for the plant we were looking for & made arrangements for us to pick up that very special plant. He made our experience amazing from start to finish & was so friendly & accommodating. Shane packed our plant with such care for the long journey back home. The plant has now been in my home for a week & is doing so well. The best part is, I now have the gorgeous ficus triangularis of my dreams & know about the coolest plant shop in Utah. Ive bought many plants from them and was very impressed until they all started dying. i take great care of all my plants but i bought a dumbcane from them for $70 and from the day i bought it it's leaves were dying after about a month i decided to repot it to see what was happening and found out it was infested with symphylas a type of bug similar to centipedes but there is no cure. i have 37 plants and from this time over 20 of them have started to die and have become infested with bugs. the plants themselves were beautiful when i bought them but this infestation is killing them and ive tried numerous treatments and nothing will help. be warry and make sure to check your plants from there before putting them near any of your other plants or you might end up with over 20 dying plants. :( i'm extremely sad and disappointed. read more

This has to be my favorite retail shop in Saint George! Nowhere else have I seen so many beautiful plants in a retail setting. I could spend so many hours ( and so much $$$ ) here. The owner and the staff are all incredible and knowledgeable. It's so awesome the way they pot and arrange your plant purchases for you. They create incredible masterpieces. The owner went out of his way to help me. I live out of town but need a plant and a cut flower delivered to a memorial service the next day. He walked me thru the plant but then let me know he didn't do cut flowers. Once he heard my sorry he ordered the cut flower form another source, picked it up himself, and delivered both to the location. He said it was good education for him!! The plant was awesome!! And the cut flower sent the perfect message for my grieving friend!! Believe me he will be my go to guy in the future. Don't hesitate to use him!!! read more
