The Nursery is now called Ladybug Nursery. I stopped by on a Saturday morning and found a beautiful plant for a gift. The staff was very helpful. On of the employees showed me the proper way to water and dead head the plant to keep it growing strong. She explained times to water which is more than once a day. We were looking for a particular small tree. We were new in the area and asked the older gentleman working there if he had any. He told us the bush looking ones just needed to be trimmed up and would be the small tree we've been looking for. He charged us less than the tree price but double the bush price. After three years guess what they are still a bush. Ye we were ripped off because we didn't know, not educated on the area plants yet. He took advantage and I will not go back. read more

I love Ballard's. They have great selection, and knowledgeable staff. They are near my house and they are my go-to place for any yard need. I like how they put what time it is on their billboard, ie bare roots, weed and feed your lawn, blight control, etc. read more

I LOVE Ballard's Nursery! I don't know the guy's name that owns it, but I would swear he knows everything! It doesn't matter what I walk in with, he knows how to fix it or what it is... I went to Star nursery and got sold the wrong tree 2 times and they would do nothing to rectify the situation, but I go to Ballard's and he makes sure I get what I need and know everything about it so I can be successful too! I can't say enough nice things. I will take my local money there and never to Star again! read more

OMG I just called in desperation and this guy was AMAZING!! another place had totally let me down it is Mothers Day tomorrow and I needed something delivered. They don't usually do that but he said he would. I AM SO THRILLED, it is so nice to see that there are people that still care to help others out. Not only am I getting something better than I would have gotten I am getting more of them. He was so nice and pleasant and helpful. I was looking for a snow ball bush. An old time favorite in this area. Ballard's was the only place that carried them, gave me good planting directions, Star Nursery told me this plant wouldn't grown here and told me that pecans wouldn't grow. I had to show them pictures of my grandmother standing next to a large, fully blossomed and beautiful snow ball bush and then was told, "...well, every now and again you get lucky and things happen that aren't normal...". Ballard's prices was less than buying on line. Great resource for local plants and trees. read more
