I visit the area quite often, and I decided to stop by this nursery. They have quite a selection of herbs and vegetable plants and flowering plants. I am not good at gardening whatsoever, but I do like to check out the options. We own a home in Mesquite Nevada and love the Star Nursery located there. They have a great selection and great prices.

I gave a review 3 months ago, about the poor customer service. We went back and the same thing happened again. The young woman that works there doesn't have any knowledge and acts like she doesn't care. I think Star Nursery needs to send her to a people management course. read more

Putting in a new yard so looking for ideas and plants. This location is housed in the pioneer Cotton Mill Building. Pretty cool and lots of history. It's huge with old timber framed supports. This is a well ran well stocked nursery. They sale everything from sprinkler parts to bedding plants, cactus, pots, fertilizer and even palm trees! They have all sorts of specialized services to help you with all your yard needs. Thing I like is they will answer all your questions or they will find someone who knows the answer. The other day I went to star nursery to find something that would get rid of the aphids in my vegetable garden. they recommended that I use bioadvence 3 in 1 insect, disease and mite control, the worker even handed me the bottle. after I sprayed my garden I read. it can only be used on non edible plant on the bottle. I ended having to pull all the plants in my garden. when I complained to the store. Respose was: we're sorry. now I need to start from scratch. they did give me my money back for the pray. they should of given me a voucher to replace all the plants I poisoned read more

Stopped in before leaving town for a watering system off my hose bib and was fitted out perfectly. We always have great service as well as 1 class products from Star. I just love their winter flower selections as they remain beautiful for the entire season. read more

Best and only place in town I go to buy flowers, trees, cactus, bushes etc. The staff is knowledgeable and the yard is always clean and organized. It's in an old cotton mill so it gives the place even more character. Thanks for being awesome! read more

Most of the plants I have bought here have died and they only guarantee them for 30 days. I have patiently waited for my ocotillo to green up = in October they said it would probably be in February. Here we are in May and it's still gray. Others in the neighborhood are green now, so guess I've been burned by them again. I bought 5 upright euonymous which have all died. The sign said full sun but when I questioned the staff they said they are sometimes really sensitive in full sun. Since it took them more than 1 month to die I'm out the money for them. Home Depot and Lowes guarantees their plants for a year, and they have a nice selection, so adios to Star. read more

I received the WORST customer service from this place. Aside from them closing at a way too Early hour of 6pm, they don't take stock in the people they hire. I called three days in advance to Set aside 1.25 pallets of retaining wall blocks that I confirmed were available for me to pick up. I live an hour away so I called one more time on my way down to make sure they had them. When I got there no one was around. One girl at the front paged someone to come and help me and no one ever came. I looked for myself in the blocks/pavers section and there were only 20 of the ones I had asked for and half were broken. Finally someone came to help and lo and behold there were NONE of the blocks I needed. I was rushing like hell to make it before they closed and all I got was a "sorry." Horrendous. If you're expecting any kind of help or accurate information from this place--don't expect it. read more

Beautiful area with a good selection of plants. I went here to pick out a Christmas tree last year. The pricing was similar to other nurseries, but there trees seem to be in much better quality. They were fast at blocking and packaging, but there check out process was a little slow. read more

This place is beautiful. The plants are beautiful and the setting is a restored cotton mill, a large and graceful brick building. When plant-loving friends and relatives come to visit I take them here and they always enjoy it. The shrubs I've bought here have all been healthy and I've had much better success with them than when I pick something up at Lowe's or Wal-Mart. There's also an excellent selection of gardening and landscaping aids of all kinds. I feel the tug to visit every time I drive by. read more

This is a beautiful nursery in an old sugar mill or cotton mill. Everything is clean and neat, and there is a lot of canopy shade, so the plants look healthy. There is a little bigger selection of plants to pottery at the other nurseries, but I really love the atmosphere here. I was delighted to see that TC, who worked previously at a different nursery, worked here, because she is so friendly and helpful about plants. I have noticed that Star Nursery in any of the locations (I have been to them all in St. George) seem very short staffed, so you have look for her if you have a question. She treats you like she is happy to help you and she is actually knowledgeable about plants. I am an avid gardener and spend a lot of money at nurseries, and I wish all of the Star Nurseries would 1) Increase staff or have someone with PLANT KNOWLEDGE visibly available, and 2) wear masks and require them of customers (at least inside) to at least show that the company cares about employee and customer safety. read more

Nice layout and well stocked with every kind of plant imaginable. Staff are knowledgeable and can be helpful if you seek them out. They hold regular sales, and overall the prices are good. Otherwise, the customer service is poor to non-existent. Im a small older woman with back problems, and I'm usually asked at the grocery store if I need help loading, but never here. I pushed one of their large flat carts all through the place, loading it to capacity with heavy five-gallon containers. All the way through, not one offer of help from anyone -- they don't speak or make eye contact. While I was checking out, I noticed several young men just standing around talking. I was preparing to ask for help, but they all abruptly turned and went upstairs. I had to push the heavy, awkward cart outside and unload it by myself. I'm a great tipper and very willing to pay for this service, but they apparently don't think I'm worth the bother. This wasn't the first time, either, which is why I decided to write this. read more

Bought a couple thousand dollars worth of plants and rock at Star Nursery a few months ago. Have 6 or 7 plants die. Went to return them and apparently they've changed their return policy. This wasn't stated anywhere on our receipt, their website or anywhere at their store. You only have 30 days instead of how it used to be a year. Very unhappy with the customer service as well. On the 3rd of dec my brother and i came down from cedar and checked out your christmas trees and on the 5th we came back and bought 3 trees from the ones that were grouped together that had a sign saying freshly cut trees,my brother paid over $75 for all three trees.I was excited i haven`t had a real tree in years,my brother & daughter to.We`ll we watered them every day,its only been 11 days and all 3 trees are dead the needles started falling off ,now i have to take all the lights and decorations off the tree and get it out of the house,and the same with my daughter to! I haven`t been able to enjoy it much,or turn the lights on,how long has those trees been sitting there i wonder,and you really need to keep them watered,now we are without trees! And my brother is out $75 for 3 trees that only lasted 11 days,its sad because i loved going to star nursery but won`t be any more !!! read more

Horrible customer service. Extremely loud obnoxious music ( screaming music) while we were trying to fill up 3 large carts with product. Finally could not stand it any longer so we went to check out to find one young lady ( first day on the job and totally overwhelmed ) trying to help 8 or 9 people with full carts. We asked two different people for extra cashiers and their answer was "nope" and then ignored us. After waiting over 30 minutes just to get close to the poor young lady we finally said enough. It would have been at least another 20 minutes just to reach her . We left two full carts out in the covered area, shoved our 3rd cart to the side and walked out. We will never return there. The displays were very nice, it was clean and neat the the product was beautiful. The service was 100 % STINK !!! Buyer beware You can easily spend two hours and have your ears assaulted just trying to buy something and pay for it. read more
