We hired Vortex Pools & Spa to service our hot tub in Sedona house that we rent on AirBNB. From day one we started having issues with their service. For instance, we received a bill after two cleanings for a full drainage (even though it was brand new and just filled), they said it was a mistake and cancelled the bill. But then, guest kept complaining, waterline marks, spa not serviced or cleaned, etc. After the 5th guest complaint we cancelled our contract. Note that they send a photo every time they service, which is great, but once when we had a complaint the same day as they serviced, I checked and saw that the photo sent was not my hot tub... And more than once the technician turned off the water which connects to our separate house (a knob next to the water to the tub), which had guests complain of no water and we had to send a plumber and realized the water connection had been closed. The amount of issues in 2 months was so high that we decided to no longer work with them. Every time we called they were polite, apologized, and said they'd send someone over. But after seven issues we just decided we had to change company. A shame as we really wanted it to work out, their rates were reasonable, the lady at reception nice. But in the end, we paid to have a clean hot tub for our guests and only had issues. read more

My husband and I walked into Vortex Spas with our checkbook in hand, fully ready to decide on and buy a hot tub. It's a big purchase, and it's an expenditure that we've saved up for and is important to us. We do hydrotherapy pretty much every day for our necks and our low backs. We want a quality spa that has a good warranty. And we expect the spa to last for at least 12-15 or more years We knew Vortex was nearby and that they carry Cal Spas, and we were fairly familiar with this brand as we have had one at a different residence and we'd been quite happy with it. Cal Spas are made in America, which we appreciate, and they seem to be high quality. We were the only customers in the shop, and we looked at several of the models on the floor. We let the saleswoman know we were looking for a 7.5-foot by 7.5-foot and we asked which she recommended at that size. She pointed to the model fact sheets and said: "They each tell you the size on there." OK. So no recommendations or models she thinks are better at that size or other considerations to mention to us. My husband asks next: "So, we'd like to get it installed at our house in the next few weeks, can you tell us which of these spas you have in stock?" She shrugged and said: "I'm not sure; I'll have to get back to you." OK. I guess this is fair. She asked for my husband's phone number and email address. Took them down, and over a week later and we have not heard back. It was a bummer! They are so close to our house, so we figured service and delivery would be easy! Oh well, we went a little bit further away to the other shop that sells spas in town. The sales guy there was super-nice and he ended up selling us a Sundance spa within 20 minutes. We are fairly easygoing people and customers--definitely not high-maintenance at all. I absolutely hate to give small businesses less than 3 stars, because I love and value local businesses and businesspeople, and I understand how hard they work and that members of the public can be difficult to deal with. Also, I empathize and understand that every worker or salesperson can have a bad day or bad week or month. That's why I'm going with two stars, rather than one or zero. We really wanted to buy a spa from Vortex, but the salesperson there did not seem interested in our business. Bummer! read more

We've been clients of Vortex Pools & Spas for several years now and have consistently received excellent service. Their team has always been reliable, responsive, and a pleasure to work with. Most recently, Kevin replaced a pump on our swim spa, and once again, the service was outstanding. Kevin was professional, polite, and worked with expert efficiency to get the job done quickly. What impressed us even more was the extra effort from the office team--they went out of their way to overnight the replacement pump so we could get up and running without delay. We are truly grateful for the quality of service we've received over the years. Vortex Pools & Spas continues to earn our trust and appreciation, and we wholeheartedly recommend them. read more

We absolutely love our new spa! Purchased via Facebook Marketplace with Hannah as our main point of contact. She patiently answered all my questions for over a week until we made the final purchase. She set up the delivery that week and we were sitting in our jacuzzi within days of purchase. GREAT VALUE too! Paul was great too! read more

Alex always does a great job. Conscientious, professional and always a friendly smile and demeanor.

they replaced check valve 2 months ago because the hottub was draining into the pool. i asked for service asap today because that valve must have failed as the hottub is doing the same thing and they wasted a trip by completely ignoring that problem. i'm worried my pebbletec in the spa is going to crack being exposed to the sun read more

We pretty much knew what kind of hot tub we wanted and I debated buying one on line or locally. I am so very glad I went local and with Vortex Pools & Spas. They got the spa up on the deck with precision and care. They knew what they were doing and did not scratch a thing. They came back after the spa was wired up (we went 220 which required hard wired connection) and filled the spa and ran into an issue during startup with the GFCI but resolved it and the spa running the same day. Had I bought this on line I might have been struggling a long time. Locally customer service can be hit or miss but with these guys it has been great. I highly recommend Vortex Pool and Spa! read more

I have been using Vortex Pools & Spa for several years now. I have them weekly service our pool and our spa. The tech does an unbelievable job with both. But he goes the extra mile. He checks the water feature and even treats it if needed. The pool pump and other equipment is around back away from the pool area. Today he was checking that equipment and found a small leak. He notified the office, the texted me and asked about repairing it. A few hours later a fitting was replaced and all is well again. I am happy with the cost of weekly maintenance of the pool and spa and they a fair on service related chart as well. How could you ask for more. read more

Had a one time service by these guys, they didn't even make sure the water level was correct on the hot tub. The pictures in their own report show it way too low. Nothing was as taken care of. I called to see if they could come fix it and Patrick said I'm being difficult. Clowns. read more

They serviced our pool for years and did an okay job until they oversaturated our pool with chemicals because they couldn't figure out what was wrong with our pool. They would show up unannounced, even after repeated requests to announce when they would show up. Once, one of their techs let our dogs out, and we had to spend work time tracking them down. I called and asked to talk to the owner and the request was denied by the office manager. I placed signs on both sides of the gate to close the gate, as there are dogs in the yard, it only took a week or so for the technician servicing the pool to ignore the sign. We got so fed up with the numerous charges to fix the pop-up that never resolved the situation, and because we were concerned about the lack of flow and the cloudy nature of the pool, we tested it, and the chemicals were 300% of what they should be. Based on that, I called and asked to speak to the owner again, and was again denied by the same woman in the office. Based on their failure to follow instructions and abysmal service, I terminated them last week. Their lack of communication is astounding. read more
