He is arranging me to return my Power Plus and get a refund. I appreciate his good customer service. Again, be aware that there are three listed chemicals that Leslie's will not allow returned, which, besides the chemical in Power Plus, includes Muriatic acid and Chlorine. read more

Huge thank you to John for going above and beyond the call of duty! I broke a tiny (pool pump) part. I knew there would be a 0.12% likelihood Leslie's would have this part is stock (doesn't even appear on the pump diagram). John took my part- Checked the parts room. No luck. John checked the computer- no luck. John snapped a few pics- texted them to his manager- no luck. John then proceeded to call another manager (his mentor). Leslie's Pool Supplies has the basic supplies that you need to keep your pool in good order. If you want to purchase pool equipment and have questions about what to get, sure, these guys will know something about the items they're trying to sell. However, their know-how of how to solve the problems plaguing your pool is hit and miss. This store has, historically, been a "miss." A lack of knowledge about pool maintenance alone isn't enough for me to write this review. The lack of an employee's ability to say "I don't know," however... I've been having a problem with my salt cell. As I described the situation to the Leslie's employee at this store, I could see in his eyes that what I was describing was beyond him. In a nutshell: manual tests were showing elevated salt levels. The salt cell was showing extremely low salt levels, meaning it wasn't generating chlorine. This guy's response: "You need to add more salt." I'm new to this, but I'd learned something valuable from the guy running the Leslie's Anaheim location. Adding salt is exactly the wrong thing to do. This Yorba Linda store's employee doubled down on his insistence when I challenged him on his advice. I had to leave without any help. If you're learning pool maintenance, do NOT attempt to glean anything but how to raise and lower your Ph levels from anyone at this store. read more

I go to this location sometimes, since it's on the way home. I had a bad experience here once, when a young employee (probably not a pool owner himself) said I had to empty my 14,000 gallon pool because my water was too messed up. When I started going there and just becoming a pool owner, I trusted those guys - until he told me to empty my pool and refill it with water! I took a sample to another pool supply company, and was told the water was fine. I was just here because of a mailer. The shock that was advertised, that I wanted wasn't that good. I was told. I had to buy the more expensive one.... Live and learn, and fall for it again, and come back....(that's what they want). read more

I have had a salt water pool for several years and have zero knowledge on how to maintain it. We have for years payed a pool service tech to maintain it. We have noticed lately that the pool man hasn't been able to keep our pool clean from debris and alge. We went to Leslie pools and had the pleasure of working with Simon. Let me tell you we assumed he owned the business because he takes this job very serious. He has helped us get our pool up and running. His knowledge is among the best. I know nothing about pools. My husband sent me in with a list, by part number, of two parts he needed. The first guy argued they didn't sell sump pumps. When I gave him the part number, the second guy argued it was the wrong part, even though I never told him what kind of pool we have. I repeated that I was just getting what the husband told me to get, so he relented and got me the pump. For the second part, the guy argued that I needed piping. I don't know, I don't care, I was sent to get two parts. Two. Specific. Parts. Excuse me, guys: a woman comes in with a list. Stop arguing with her and sell her the damned parts. I told my husband I'm not going back. If he needs me to get him a part, I'll order it online. read more

The worst customer service I've ever seen! The guy working was in the phone for a while we walked around waited for him to get off the phone. We wanted our pool water tested, simple enough you'd think I've been going here quite a while never had a problem. He said I closed my testing station down 30 minutes before we close.. was rude about it and then when we told him well you don't close until 7pm he continued to follow us out to our car and said go ahead and call on me, I'm here all the time. So I'm no handy lady. In fact, if I was thrown into my backyard, I would not be able to survive. So needless to say, I was not the exact point of contact for the aid of my algae infested pool. The weather was just getting hot and the summer was hitting it's peak. My dreaded algae problem needed a fix, and needed a fix fast. So after I tried to talk to pool guy to pool guy, I was spending a lot of money that was not getting anywhere. I was just getting off of work and it was late, but I tried my best to get to the store as quickly as possible. I made it a little before closing, and although I felt bad, I needed my fix. I've never been into a Leslie's before but I've driven by a number of times. I didn't know they had all these pool supplies (duh swimming pool supply store) but they did. It was full of the cutest items from the typical swimming pool basketball net to the elaborate inflatable toys. It seemed a bit like swimming pool heaven. I came in and was warmly welcomed by the lone associate, Moe. He took the time to test my water and discuss with me my options. We reviewed my options and came to the conclusion that I HAD HOPE. Thank God I can finally use my pool again. So he broke down my steps simply, easily and patiently. It was late, the weather was hot and I was unsure about all the different steps he discussed with me. He even asked me to call back if I had any problems. My pool is clean and pristine once again! Perfect for swimming in. Thank GOD I have hope now, and not only that, I know where to go next time for a TRUSTED pool source of information... not a mysterious labyrinth of pool misery. read more

Leslie's Pool shop in Placentia on Yorba Linda Blvd is a good shop. They are better than many other pool shops including some Leslies's. They helped me with my Hayward salt cell test and warranty coverage. They also had extra long poles in stock no one else had. Worth the drive. read more

Last October 2012 I bought a whole new system to replace my old unreliable heater, pump, etc.. Leslies' was wonderful in the installation of all Hayward products. In April (2013) my heater failed to work. I kept getting "IF". My pool man had no knowledge in how to fix it so I called Leslies as I had a 3 year warranty because of buying the whole system. I could not get a repair person for 10 days. So, I waited and Bryan M came. Bryan told me that there was nothing wrong but the problem was my filter was dirty. I told him my pool man had cleaned the filter last month. He said, "those things happen. The filter is dirty." He charged me $110 for diagnostic fee, not included in warentee. So, I looked on Yelp and found another pool man, Mike Keith of Mike's Pool Service. He came out in 2 hours to look at my pool. I told him that Leslie's repair person said my filter needed fixing. He took a look and told me that the filter was clean. He then checked out the heater. He said something was wrong, but since it was under warranty a proper repair person should look at it. He gave me the number of some person he knew. I call Javier and he came the next day. Took out my circuit board, the heater was fixed and I am now enjoying the pool. So...buying pool supplies at Leslie's is easy, but getting something repaired is not only iffy and takes too long. Buyer beware. read more

They were so helpful and didn't try to sell me on anything other than what I came in for. They actually told me not to purchase a few things as we have a pool service and informed me what they should be providing. They even helped me to my car with my items. If there was a minus one, I would like it. Extremely frustrated. Ordered a handrail 5/11/15 and it did not come in. Finally called Corporate and they interceded. I was told to go to the store to re-order the handrail. It finally arrive about a month ago. Wrong color. Mario the technician drilled the hole and set he was going to set it in the holes temporary. Called the store and assured me the right one will be in about 1 week. I have called the store every week and they claim to have no knowledge of the handrail. Left numerous message. The temporary handrail the technician put in place as it is loose, swings from side to side and I cannot use my spa until this is fixed. FRUSTRATED! read more

This is the closest Leslie's near my house so I go in there every so often to buy some pool toys or a new skimmer. I have a pool service so I really don't buy anything else. I recently bought 2 Aqua Rider noodles. They were $12.99 each. The seat on one of the noodles disintegrated within 2 weeks. I brought it back to the store and they refused to take it back and give me a new one. They said it wasn't a warranty item. Of course a fancy noodle isn't a warranty item. But all they had to do was replace it and their vendor would have given them credit for it. But no customer service at this store. I took the noodle to Leslie's in Yorba Linda which is several miles away from my house. The gentleman there had no problem whatsoever taking it back. I bought a new skimmer while I was there. So the store in Placentia loses a customer over $12.99? Not only this customer but everyone that I know who shops at Leslie's. There are only 8 houses on my street but 3 of us have a pool. Going a couple of miles out of our way will be no problem at all. read more

Moe is the best CSR/salesperson I have ever met. He always goes out of his way to help me. I am an older lady with a beautiful backyard pool. This store is amazing!!! I come to this location to get any products and information. Mostly for the water tests so they can help me out until I figure it on my own. I come here and learn something new all the time... The one thing I'm not to much of a fan on is that in the last year there has been 3 different managers. The good thing is that every new one comes in with even more knowledge. Jason the most recent one actually is more professional than the last. He is honest, fair, and not pushy like some of the others. His recommendations have been spot on except for one. He was off on that one and that was because I estimated my pool size wrong. My bad.
