This review is written on behalf of my mom Nora. I've been a frequent customer of Leslie's Pool Supplies La Verne location as I find the employees here very friendly, honest, and knowledgeable. This is not the case at every Leslie's Pool store, unfortunately. Anyway, I recently had technician David from Leslie's come by to service my pool and was told I needed a pool cleaner suction fitting adapter. I would not have known what part I needed, so the tech had this ordered at the store on my behalf. Leslie's Pool did a great job in keeping me updated on the delivery of my order (to their store) and ensured me the next tech would come by my house with the new part. Scheduling service appointments with Leslie's is also easy. Today, pool tech Frederick came by bringing the pool part I needed and got to work immediately. He was very professional and knowledgeable and got the job done. So, 10/10 with getting all your pool needs through Leslie's Pool Supply. read more

I called worried because this is my first time having a pool... I tested chlorine and pH and the chlorine wasn't even registering. I had the pleasure of speaking to Kevin. Told him my concerns. Kevin was knowledgeable, and beyond kind especially trying to understand what my issue is since I'm a first time pool owner. He explained what I should do and how to resolve the issue I'm having. We looked Everywhere! For a kiddie pool. And I Finally though about Leslie's pool supplies. We were so excited that we found a store with kiddie pools. We got there and they had 2 pools for a 6 yr old and maybe 4 for for toddlers. The associate was friendly and funny cause I kept asking about sales and coupons since it s Labor Day weekend. They have everything you need and since WE are the pool cleaners at our house, it helps to get advice from people who can be trusted. Prices vary but reasonable. Some items are quite pricey and others are surprisingly affordable. So pool cleaning turns out to be my husband's favorite chore and we're saving money. PROS for cleaning your own pool: 1. You can clean it any day of the week you want! 2. You know what chemicals are in your water. 3. You know it's actually clean 4. No stranger in your yard 5. No random charges for other "services" they may or may not have done CONS: 1. If you don't clean it, nobody else will. 2. Called ahead for a part. The lazy employee with a nose ring hanging out of her nostrils and bleached hair hit every stereotype of incompetence and failed to actually look on the shelf for the part I called ahead to ask if it was in stock. The employee told me on the phone it was in stock. Wasted my time and gas coming here only to find out on arrival that the employee failed to actually look at the stock of parts on the shelf and in fact did not have the needed part on the shelf. Will not return for any future business and went to a different pool chain to get what I needed with competent employees. read more

Called with a million questions and spoke to Anthony. He was so helpful and willing to provide me all the information that I needed to help with my above ground pool. Being that I only have an above ground pool I wasn't getting much help with other companies so it was a breathe of fresh air to be able to speak to someone that was willing to help me and give me direction. When I arrive at the store he did not attempt to oversell me anything. He knew what I needed and took me straight to the product. Will definitely be back! read more

Customer service, wow thought it was a something from the past... I went into Leslie's needing recommendations for a replacement pool sweep, and Ken showed me customer service is alive and well. Ken took the time to help me with all my questions, and even though he didn't have stock of the sweeper we wanted was able to search inventory of nearby stores and provide the Leslie's customer support # if I wanted to call in an order. Purchased a pool pump and installation about a year ago and just recently it has stopped working. I noticed an error code OOF on the display. The pump is under warranty so I called Leslie's for service. Technicians have been out about for times. 1st technician visit: He said he fixed the pump. It stopped working shortly after he left. 2nd technician visit: He swept some rocks away from around the pump, scolded me saying it was my fault for having rocks there and told me to read the manual. It stopped working the same day. So after reading the manual I discovered that the error message had something to do with the pump not receiving enough power and that rocks around the pump would not effect its operation. Problems would occur only if debris got into the motor area. I called for a third time and spoke with Jonathan who had zero empathy for my situation. More on that later. 3rd technician visit: The same technician who chewed me out last time came and now discovered to my surprise that it wasn't debris. It was in fact an issue with the pump not getting enough power and I needed to call an electrician. I'm like, wait a minute. Shouldn't you have figure that out when you installed it? As a matter of fact, the pump I originally purchased had to be replaced for the pump I have now because you all said it wouldn't get enough power from my breaker. Nope. My fault. I have to find an electrician. On my quest to find an electrician I spoke with my pool cleaning guy who advised that if I would have had him install my pump that it would have been his responsibility to ensure there was adequate power to the pump prior to putting it in. My pool guy was fairly certain it was an issue with the pump and not the breaker. I called Leslie's back and spoke to Jonathan again. This guy did not have any interest in helping me. He was more concerned with deflecting responsibility for repair of my issue. He asked if I had called an electrician and I told him I had not and that Leslie's installed the pump so it should be Leslie's responsibility to ensure its proper function during the warranty period. He again scheduled a technician to come out. Mind you these visits are about a week after each call for service. 4th technician visit: I arrived home just as the technician was leaving. I spoke to my wife before I spoke to him and she relayed to me that he said it was a problem the power coming from my breaker. I went to speak to the technician who was now sitting in the passenger seat of his service vehicle with the door open, smoking a cigarette and talking on the phone. I stood there in 100 degree heat inhaling his cigarette smoke for about 5 minutes before he acknowledged my existence. He the told me exactly what he told my wife and included that the pump was only receiving 80 volts of power and it needed 120. Fine I finally broke down and hired an electrician. He advised me that it was $120 to trouble shoot and if he found a problem that money would go towards the charge. I found that was pretty standard for electricians. He came out and trouble shooted and guess what!!!??? He found nothing wrong with my breaker and tests showed that my breaker was, in fact, supplying 120 volts of power to my pool pump. I called Leslie's again today (9/6/17) at 11:00 am. I'm not sure who I spoke to but he said I would be receiving a call shortly regarding my next technician visit. It's now 1 pm and I have not received a call. In the meantime I called the corporate office and relayed this information. Apparently the general manager will be calling me soon to see how he can help. I'll keep this updated when more happens. But as of now it has been over six weeks since my pool pump has had issues and Leslie's has yet to resolve it or take any responsibility. My pool is a mess!! Update: So they assigned the same technician to come out with a manager on September 12. SIX days after all the mess they've put me through. Meanwhile my pool looks like a swamp. So my pump ran fine for about a month. It is now again not working with the same error message. I have since purchased a home warranty. I don't think I'm going to even bother calling Leslie's to look at it even though it's still under warranty. Their service was so horrible that I would rather pay the $60 for the home warranty to fix the problem than have to deal with Leslie's again. read more

Need to share the bad service and refusing to honor a warranty. we bought a solar cover from Leslie's a year ago with a 5 year warranty. The just under a year the bubbles on the solar cover were all desentagrading. We called La Verne Leslie's and they stated that the solar covers even though come with a warranty they really don't offer a return. So we went to another Leslie's Pool Supply, and stated yes of course they offer a return and gave us the proper paper work. I had my original receipt and paper work. Even though they didn't have the correct size they ordered one and was ready for pickup a week later. Then I called back La Verne and speak to the manager and he was very rude and hung up the phone in the middle of our conversation. Just want everyone to understand buyer beware. I would suggest shopping at Leslie's in another city! So happy with Glendora and there wonderful professional employees! read more

Last time I'll be going. No customer service skills. After today, I'm done giving this place a chance to change. I always feel like, in comparison to other customers, our experience is horrible. The gentleman who owns it and the employee today has treated us like sh*t and I feel like it's based on our ethnicity because both times, a Caucasian individual would walk in and be treated with more respect, a greeting AND a smile, as we just get a look and a "what are you looking for" question. I waited a full year before writing this review on Leslie's Pool Supply because I wanted to get it right since they operate in my home city of La Verne. I like where I live and want to be as generous as possible, but fair and honest - and here's what I've got: Let me first say, I'm not an easy person to do business with. I question everything, do my research and make up my own mind. So when it comes to my pool, it feels like you need a PhD to get this stuff right. HOWEVER, the manager at Leslie's: Joe - has been a true blessing to me and my pool. He is patient with my skeptical questions, thorough with his instructions and tips, and brutally honest when it comes to the quality of his products. In short, I've come to trust him and his word. In fact, we spent nearly $5,000 on new pump, filter, heater, and other tertiary equipment recently and he continues to provide excellent service and provides sound advice with EVERY visit I make. I don't know what the upper management folks have in store for Joe, but if I were running that business, I would do everything I can to keep Joe as my store manager. read more

Always my go store for liquid chlorine and I think it's been over a month they don't have chlorine I wasted my time going twice now I call and they still don't have some in stock. Hi All Pool Owners, Just want to say that your pool is not complete unless you have a trusted Pool Supply manager like Joe at Leslie's Pool Supply in La Verne. I put my pool in 15 years ago and as any pool owner knows, sooner or later you will have maintenance issues,whether It's algae, filtration problems, pump issues, etc. I'm saying thank God there are managers like Joe around. Super knowledgeable, always helpful and the main value, honest! Joe has guided me through various problems and maintenance issues over the years and I'm sure glad he's been around! I put my pool cleaner in 3 weeks ago. They said they would call in a few days, after calling to check on status, was put on hold, after 20 minutes I drove to store. The pool cleaner was still not even looked at, they said they would be sure to call. Went down again, said service tech was out, would call next day, no call. Liars. Was charged $35 travel fee and $118 diagnostic fee for my pool heater. I asked, specifically, when booking if the $118 would be applied towards the repair and I was told that it would. In attempting to schedule said repair, I was told that they would not be honoring that claim. Needless to say, they did not gain my business! They did successfully swindle me out of $118 though! Joe the manager was awesome. I was so impressed with his service I bought him and his assistant 500 calorie Frappachinos. Of course I was very lucky that they had the part I needed but it was their attitude (I'm your friend let me help you) that impressed me. There are still cool retail people around and hard to find. Polo and Joe have been extremely helpful. My buddy Mike took to this store they've been extremely helpful. I've bought my Zodiac pool cleaner, Brand new Pool pump from their store. With the guidance and advice I've been cleaning my pool for the past 7 months now. It's a weekly routine for me now. I'm a fairly new pool owner and recently let go of my pool guy because he let my pool turn green and then wanted to charge me 300 to go from green to clean. I turned to Polo over at Leslie's in La Verne and he walked me through the entire process, from chemicals to even showing me how to clean my filter. I now stop in every week to have my water analyzed for free and I feel very fortunate to have them nearby. They helped me save hundreds of dollars by taking care of my own pool. I've been a Leslie's customer for 15 years but have been very disappointed over the latest events... I purchased a Hayward variable pool pump 3 months ago. I returned from vacation 3 weeks ago to find my pump not working and my pool was a total mess, so much that I had to drain it, acid wash it, and bust my butt to get the tile clean. I notified Leslie's that my pump stopped working so they sent a service technician out which took almost a week. The technician took a look at the pump, which took him all of 3 minutes and said the pump was fine, that my circuit breaker needed to be replaced. I replaced the circuit breaker but that didn't fix the problem. I contacted the service center again and a week later Jimmy showed up, spent less than 5 minutes and said if the problem persists call the service center to schedule another appointment with a technician. Another week goes by to find out the pumps power unit is bad and one has to be ordered. That was 3 days ago... I finally received a call from my local Leslie's and the were finally able to schedule an appointment to replace the part in 8 days!!! My recommendation is purchase your new pump from an online supplier and hire an independent contracted electrician to install it... For heavens sake, sty away from Leslie's!!! read more

Bad customer service. I went to get my water tested so that I could buy chlorine from them. It was about 10 minutes before opening. A sign on the door said the computer was down, but said nothing about the store being unable to open. I waited for approx. 15-20 minutes as the workers clearly see me waiting outside. Finally one of them dared to come out and tell me they were not going to open the store because the computer was down. I only wanted my water tested and buy chlorine and had cash to pay for it. No need for the computer. The worker tells me the computer is down and I think he said they may have to call someone to come fix it, and various other excuses. Again, I fail to see why the computer was needed for this simple transaction. I also don't understand why they didn't tell me while I waited that they wouldn't be opening or leave a sign that the store would not open until the computer was down. What a waste of my time. Taking my business elsewhere. read more
