Staff is very uninformed on pools. I would recommend doing your own research online. Don't waste your time and money here

I have made contact with Caldera Corporate Office. So far my experience with this company is very strained. But contacted a customer service rep there that is listening. They are dropping the ball and hesitate to give answers to the simplest questions and so far they have let this spa owner hanging... Coleman left me with the impression to go fix it myself and have ignored my other calls and messages and email. I can go into more detail after seeing if the corporate office comes to a resolve on this problem and I will finished the whole review. Some times the truth does more damage to this business reputation. Let's see if they can save it. Caldera Spa of California contacted me today; they offered a remedy and if it turns out to be true. I will completely give credit where it's due. I have hear zilch from Coleman at this time.

Our experience with Coleman has not been the greatest. I wouldn't recommend anyone else shop here…read moreeither. My parents live in Decatur and went to Grapevine to get better service and now they wish they would have gone somewhere else. We bought a 27" round above ground pool. The salesman told us it would arrive in 7-10 business day. Well, that came and went. When we called to set up installation. The pool still wasn't in and we were told it usually takes 4 weeks to arrive, by that time it was 4 weeks. So it finally gets in. We went with the installers that they recommend. BIG MISTAKE! The first thing they tell us there is going to be a $200 trip charge for coming out here ( which they could have gone further in the metroplex and probably wouldn't have charged). On the day of installation, it started raining pretty hard. They continued with the installation process. They had to finally pack up due to the rain because they lowered the pool two inches into the ground and everything was so muddy due to the rain they had to wait for it to dry before putting the dirt back in the space between the pool. Well as they were leaving, me and my mom noticed a huge bubble in the middle of the pool. But we assumed these guys knew what they were doing and that it wouldn't harm anything. Well a couple of days later they came back to complete the job and the liner is now stretched out because they left it like that. They tried to smooth out the creases on the bottom, but ultimately couldn't because the liner was stretched. Our options were to have creases on the bottom or wait for a new liner. Which would probably take another 4 weeks and that would be the end of summer. We called Coleman and spoke with the Sales Manager about this and first, he seemed to busy to even be bothered by this. It was a Friday or Saturday and he said he would call us on Monday and discuss further. We decided to just let them finish the job and discuss further with the Coleman people on Monday about our options. The installers left a huge mess! They didn't pack the dirt back around the pool, they didn't show us how to use the pump. They didn't tell us how to install the ladder. Nothing. These guys were done with us. Coleman never called us, we called them and got "Well it's no ones fault". ACTUALLY, IT IS. It's the installers fault that they recommended!! They should have stopped when it started raining... we spent all this money and our liner now has creases on the bottom. Coleman could care less about making it right. It's been two weeks and hasn't called us back. These people do not care about customer service...look elsewhere for your pool needs.

The gentleman who answered confirmed they had the part in stock and mentioned they closed at 3:00 PM. Since I live about 40 minutes away, I told him it was already 2:20 PM, but I would leave immediately and get there as quickly as possible. At no point did he mention that they might lock the doors before 3:00 PM if there were no customers inside. When I was only about three minutes away, I called again to let them know I was almost there. A lady answered and informed me they were shutting down the computers. I explained that I could literally see the store and had driven 40 minutes specifically to purchase the part. I even offered to pay cash if necessary. She replied that they closed at 3:00 PM. I pointed out that it was not yet 3:00 PM and that I was pulling into the parking lot. I asked if the doors would be locked before 3:00 PM if I arrived before closing time. She asked someone nearby whether the doors were already locked. Sure enough, when I pulled in just before 3:00 PM, the doors were locked. Another customer arrived at nearly the same time and was also unable to get in. I completely understand if I had shown up 10 or 15 minutes after closing. However, arriving before the stated closing time after driving 40 minutes--and after calling twice to communicate my arrival--is unacceptable. If a business advertises that it is open until 3:00 PM, customers should reasonably expect to be served until 3:00 PM, not find the doors locked early. Very disappointing experience and poor customer service.

Unfortunately, that was not our experience. We did the "Green-to-Clean ($800)". It took SIX weeks. We had to repeatedly follow up because they would go ~2 weeks without showing up or communicating. When we asked, we were told there was an emergency situation, we tried to be understanding, but there was no proactive communication on their end. We decided weekly service ($250/month). After the initial clean, we signed up for weekly maintenance. Within 24-48 hours of each visit, chlorine levels would drop back to 0 ppm. GP&A's explanation was that our pool system was outdated and needed to be replaced. However, we had two separate pool inspections done when we purchased the home, plus 3-4 other pool companies assess the equipment, none of them flagged the system (installed in 2017) as a problem requiring replacement. Upsell attempts: GP&A quoted us a full system replacement (under $6,000) and then a filter replacement (~$2,200) before they said they could continue service. We decided to move on to another provider. End of service: We asked if they could continue maintaining the pool through the end of the month. Their last visit was six days before the final day of the month (image attached). The pool was visibly green and in poor condition by end of month (again they serviced it 6 days ago and it is this green; not adding enough chlorine). When we brought this up, they responded that the condition was "consistent with the unresolved filtration issue for which repairs were recommended", essentially placing responsibility on us for not purchasing their repair package. We were looking for a long-term, trustworthy pool service company. What we experienced was poor communication, inconsistent results, and recommendations that no other company has supported. I cannot recommend GP&A based on our experience.
