My wife and I stumbled onto this cute small French restaurant after several hours of exploring the Latin Quarter. The nice hostess fit us in with no reservations and we had excellent service throughout our visit.
This place hit all the right chords with food, decor, service and general ambiance.
We decided to share several French food classics for our dinner. We began with the wonderful Camembert with baguette pieces. This delicious melted cheese is a great comfort food and always a good appetizer to begin a meal.
We next had the Pate en Croute which was served cold with accompaniments of gherkins, grape tomatoes, and radish. This was tasty but my least favorite of the evening.
Then the Soup a' l' oigon (Onion Soup). This was very heavy with the crouton and lovely cheese but not enough of the onion soup for my liking. Still delicious!
And lastly, my favorite, the Cuisses De Grenouilles (Frog Legs!). Think chicken but smaller. Tasty in a nice seasoned sauce these things rock! I may begin ordering frog legs back home in the USA due to this experience.
I recommend Les Deux Colombes for some great affordable French Food in Paris. read more
