I've had the pleasure of visiting Les Chandelles in Paris several times, both alone and with my husband. Each time, I've shared with him how much I love the ambiance of this unique establishment. It is a true reflection of the elegance and sensuality Paris is known for.
That said, the experience upon arrival can be a bit disconcerting. You're not automatically welcomed in, as the staff tends to ask if you've been there before while discreetly assessing you and your attire. This attention to detail is something I appreciate, especially in a city like Paris. The dress code is taken seriously, and that sets Les Chandelles apart from similar clubs in the USA. Ladies, this might be an unpopular opinion, but please avoid cheap nylon dresses--this is a place where quality matters. Gents, do not even think about wearing jeans.
Once inside, be prepared to check in your phone and purse. If you can't live without your phone, this venue may not be for you. The décor is mysterious, sensual, and elegant, setting the tone for the night.
Before heading down to the bar, we had dinner in an exquisitely romantic setting. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere respectful, with a subtle hum of quiet conversation filling the room. Every visit to Les Chandelles leaves me in awe of the refined experience provided.
After dinner, my husband and I headed downstairs to the bar, where the atmosphere became even more intimate. Couples whispered in corners, heads turned, and the temperature in the room seemed to rise. The play area, though small, is thoughtfully arranged--efficient, you could say. My personal favorite spot is the mirrored room, for obvious reasons.
It's also worth noting that there are two distinct sides to Les Chandelles, depending on the time of your visit. From when they open until 8 PM, single men are allowed, making this a great opportunity for hotwives or any woman who likes to indulge. I have visited alone during both this time and when it was couples-only later in the evening, and I thoroughly enjoyed myself every time. However, single men here tend to be quite forward, which may come as a shock to anyone visiting from the USA. There's a freedom and flow that I love about the French, but it might not bode well for those more accustomed to the lifestyle scene in the USA. Naturally being a "single female" I garnered a lot of attention, I found everyone to be respectful - if I wasn't interested much the same as in the USA I would say so. After 9:30 PM, the club shifts to couples-only, and the dynamic and vibe change entirely, offering a more intimate and relaxed atmosphere.
Having traveled extensively and experienced many clubs, I can confidently say that Les Chandelles remains one of my favorites. The elegance and atmosphere are truly unmatched. My only suggestion, and it's a minor one, would be to add clothes hooks in the playrooms. In an establishment catering to a well-heeled crowd, I'd certainly appreciate a place to hang my dress rather than placing it on the floor.
Overall, Les Chandelles offers an unforgettable experience that keeps me coming back time and time again. Whether I'm alone or with my husband, every experience has been memorable. Its charm, elegance, and dedication to maintaining a refined atmosphere make it a standout among clubs worldwide. read more
