Was in the area so I decided to stop by because I'm in love with oxtails. I got the 1 meat plate and paid the extra $7 for oxtails and extra $2 for beans and Mac n cheese. The oxtails were not fall off the bone. They were a little dry and tough in some areas. I got one big oxtails and a few pieces of extra meat. Oxtails are experience but my goodness, they could've given me at least two bones. It wasn't that great so it's fine. The Mac was good, nice and cheesy but a tad bit salty. The beans were fine, nothing to write home about. If you're in the area I'd say definitely check them out for yourself. There's a small area for dining in and they play music. Came into town with a friend who wanted to try this viral bbq spot out. The venue was clean, staff was knowledgeable and nice. There is space to eat inside and outside. The food was good however the meat was not seasoned very well. The Mac and cheese and the oxtail cabbage and sausage bowl was really good. Very good bbq place. I originally came across it on Tik Tok, and it just happened to be in the same parking lot as the water park I went to. I got the 3 meat combo with 2 sides and bread. The bread was Texas toast and it was very good. I got brisket, ribs and pulled pork. The brisket was my favorite. The ribs and pulled pork were good too. The only thing that would have made it better is if the meat already came smothered in the bbq sauce. The Mac and cheese was the very best thing that I ate. Lived in Texas and Les is definitely not Texas BBQ. The brisket and pull pork weren't bad but again definable not as good as Texas BBQ. Side just didnt do it for me. The baked beans are like a paste consistency and the potato salad was a miss. If you do eat here just stick with some of the meats. I returned to Les Barbecue with my wife. As I promised myself after I just went through the drive thru the first time I was there, we actually entered the restaurant and ate in. The restaurant is not really set up as an eat in kinda place. There are three four tops, two of which are two tops pushed together. However, the restaurant is clean and spacious for what is there. We tried a three rib combo and fatty brisket, sliced. You can also get brisket lean or pulled. While we were waiting for our order, we sat down at one of the four tops and guess who we saw; Les, The King of Oxtails, himself! Les was filming a promo video at one of the other tables. He's a bigger than life kinda guy and was kind enough to come over and answer my question about the difference between his OG Nuggets and Candy Red oxtails. The answer is that Candy Red oxtails are simply sauced OG Nuggets. He agreed with me that OG Nuggets don't really need any sauce, though. After my wife and I got our order, we found that both the ribs and the fatty brisket are about as moist as barbecue gets. The ribs, in particular, are big and juicy; probably the juiciest that I've ever enjoyed. There really wasn't much fat, if any, really, on the fatty brisket, but it was extremely moist and tender. Our daughter the brisket fan would love it. I noticed that Les doesn't offer much by way of sides; only different varieties of Miss Vickie's potato chips, plus a couple of dessert items. I'd love to see what he could do with collard greens and other traditional barbecue sides. The next time that I go to Les Barbecue, I plan to try a fatty brisket sandwich. If you're a fan of real bbq, you need to try this place. The owner, Les from Texas, wore a shirt that said the Oxtail King. He earned that moniker with his smoked oxtail. I'm Asian and have oxtail multiple ways, I can tell you this was the most tender and flavorful oxtail. I had the Texas platter, which comes with 4 meat choices and 2 sides. Brisket, chicken, pork ribs, and oxtail and the dirty rice and mashed potatoes. Let's start with the rice, so flavorful I could eat that by itself. But don't fill your stomach on the sides. Everything was tender, juicy, and so flavorful. You get two cups of bbq sauce and honestly you don't need it. The only downside is there's limited seating and nowhere to wash your hands. You're given plastic utensils but come on, who eats oxtail and pork ribs with a fork and knife? My fingers were sticky and smelled like smoked meat in the best way possible. My husband had been craving oxtails and we decided to check this place out. I placed an order ahead of time around 3:30pm for my husband to pick up at 5pm. My husband got to the restaurant 20 minutes early. He checked with the employees on status of the order just in case it was done early. They said they haven't received an order. My husband waited and about 4:50pm they got the order and was told they had sold out of multiple items. My order included 2 Texas plates and half the meat items like the oxtails you have to pay an extra fee on top of what you pay for the plate. Costing us $80 for just our 2 plates. My husband asked for refund for meat that we paid for that was sold out and they said they couldn't do that. But gave us extra meat and we were not happy about that. Why have and use an ordering system online that is not accurate? Or why can't you see orders that are out in early and set food that was purchased aside? Or Why can't you give refunds for product we wanted that You no longer have? My husband said it was a bunch of kids working and they seem like they don't know what they are doing. We tried the food and it was decent. Seasoning was good but the ribs and brisket were extremely dry, you can tell food is only cooked in the morning and left in heaters throughout the day and they don't replenish food to prepare for dinner. It's a must that you go and try Les BBQ! I'm always open to suggestions, but I haven't found a BBQ place in Utah with better smoked brisket. They put other BBQ spots to shame with the quality of smoked meats. Their sides are in a league of their own. Service is always great and I've never had an issue. The restaurant is spotless, which is rare in a BBQ spot (especially in the kitchen - speaking from experience). The prices were insane and not worth your money. We found this place from SLCfoodie and he hyped this place up too much.
