The menu!
Gary B.

I was craving BBQ and was happy to have found R&R on Yelp. I did have some hesitation as I saw from the pictures that it was NOT a sit down full service restaurant but the craving for BBQ won out. It's very reminiscent of many BBQ places in Tx and the south; one walks up and orders, find a table and your order is brought to your table...the rest is self service from the drinks to the utensils. Again, it's not my favorite style of dining but still the atmosphere and space was beautiful with well regulated AC which was great on a 95 degree evening. As far as the BBQ...craving satisfied! I ordered the 3 meat plate of brisket, ribs and sausage links...it came with hush puppies and I ordered a side of fried pickles and topped it off with peach cobbler...with a fountain drink I spent a grand total of $35 ish dollars and I was stuffed ! I considered the meal a good value. The brisket was tender and even better with their sauce (on the table). The same could be said about the 2 ribs in this combo...lots of meat on the bone and also tender and juicy. The order taker said told me the sausage was spicy and it was but at the level of my liking. The fried pickles were crunch and tangy just as I expected and what I was looking for when I chose it as my side. I wish there was more cobbler in the peach cobbler but still a nice sweet ending to filling, satisfying dinner.

Brisket, with no fat. Falls to pieces. Not saying I can do better but hey

Good stuff, but i came here to talk about the brisket, it's great for people on diets, cause there is zero fat on it. For those of us who like brisket with fat, or at least a little bit, it's not great. Everything else I got I liked. Thanks staff for your service. Edit: I now see that some people like dry, lean brisket. However, juicy is considered the "gold standard" I think it should be labeled lean brisket.

Brisket Baked Potato

It's okay. I didn't realize it was a chain but it was fine. It was in a strip mall and conveniently located to where we were at the time. It didn't have a huge selection of items. It also was a walk in and order, get a number and wait for it to get called kind of place which I don't love. The staff was welcoming enough and made recommendations. The food was okay. I've had better and I've had worse. I did like the idea of the baked potato.

Friendly service. Ordered the brisket meal which was an additional charge. . The brisket was moist and fork tender. I was disappointed in the portion of brisket that was served. For the extra charge I felt a tad short changed in the meat area Tried a hush puppy for the first time. Have to try something once. I found it very dry. The dinner roll that came with the meal was moist and tasty The sides coleslaw and potato salad were good

The giant hunk of fat from my Caveman Burger

Tonight was supposed to be a celebration dinner that was only met with disappointment. I guess shame on my for ordering through DoorDash?! The Caveman burger looked nothing like its description. There was a huge hunk of fat on the top of my burger instead of pulled pork, the burger patty itself had no flavor whatsoever just smoked blandness and the bun was a soggy mess with two dots of BBQ sauce. The sausage was good but that's the only thing that was on a multi ingredient burger. My husband got the 2 meat plate and said the brisket was too fatty but the ribs were super delicious. The coleslaw was warm and was really watery. The macaroni and cheese was cold and clumpy. The peach cobbler was not cobbler but a cobbled together mess of a dessert with literally 4 slices of peaches with a gross amount of goop that I'm unsure of what it was. The garlic mashed potatoes and gravy were delicious. That's the only thing I really enjoyed. I don't blame DoorDash for this at all they were earlier and they brought it and most items were warm except the Mac and the Blobbler (Peach Cobbler). What a very expensive and disappointing celebration meal. I guess R&R stands for Ridiculous Ripoff?

Brisket Salad

Came here on a Friday night. We were told that the food was going to be put in to go boxes since they were out of table space. There was plenty of space to sit, but no big deal. We ordered the caveman burger, which has everything but the kitchen sink. The pulled pork was good but the burger patty and sausage were both over cooked. This burger was not for me, and I should have ordered something else. The brisket salad was good, just your average salad with meat on it. I've eaten here before and really like it. The items we ordered were not our favorites. I won't order that burger again but will come back for something else. I'm giving it an average rating because for spending almost $40 on dinner, it's a bit pricey for just okay.

We couldn't dine in, so we ordered takeout. We got the Beef 'n Reef with two sides of fries and a kids' meal (chicken fingers and fries). The kids' meal was okay, and the portion was reasonable. They gave us a very small amount of cinnamon butter, but at least they included some! Now, the Beef 'n Reef... wow. Where do I even start? They could have easily put the fries in a separate container, but instead, they piled them on top of the steak and shrimp, making the entire meal look incredibly unappetizing. I wish I had taken a picture when I first opened the box, but I immediately moved everything into a separate container. Just imagine fries squeezed into a box with steak and shrimp, all covered in sauce. The sauce that was supposed to be covered by the lid was everywhere, and both the steak and shrimp were completely drenched in it. This was definitely not what I expected. Maybe the meal would have been more appetizing if we had dined in, but honestly, shouldn't the food still be properly packaged and presented for takeout? I also found it disappointing that the roll didn't even come with cinnamon butter for the entree. If the kids' meal had been the only issue, I wouldn't have been nearly as disappointed, since it was only around $8. But the Beef 'n Reef was $18, and I expected much better quality and presentation for that price. I understand that takeout won't always look exactly like a meal served at a restaurant, but there's a difference between food shifting around during transportation and food being packed in a way that makes everything soggy, messy, and unappealing before you even take a bite. I really wanted to love this place, especially since my husband had recommended it, but unfortunately, my first experience fell short of my expectations. I'm not sure if dining in would have made a difference, but based on this takeout experience, I left feeling that the meal wasn't worth the price. I hope they can improve their takeout packaging and pay a little more attention to the details, because I would have loved for this to become a place I could recommend, too.

Got three sauces, one with orange in it, one with apple juice in it, and a Korean take on BBQ sauce. Didn't care for the last one, enjoyed the other two. I got as a side the mac salad. They put smoke flavoring in it. There is some corn in it as well as a very little carrot shreds for looks, probably. It was good. However, as left overs, my taste buds were done with it. They give you two plastic gloves to eat it with as well as provide paper towel rolls on each table if you don't use the gloves, I guess. The wings weren't quite as good as Mad for Chicken (China town on State St. in SLC). But it was still very good and you need to check it out. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

Those that I like have to meet a few requirements that I have for eating. I have celiacs, so i avoid gluten at all cost, including any moderate chance of cross contamination, Corn also bothers me so another food that I avoid. beyond that I am picky with what goes into my food and how the food is prepared. Now to the review. the first thing I do at any restaurant is ask about their gluten free options and about cross contamination. This was the first day that the Provo location was open, so I expected there would be blank stares. believe it or not that happens a lot. Here they knew about some of the food but not all of it when it came to my questions. So they went back to ask, "I want to make sure so let me ask". the next thing i knew I was speaking to the owner, going over all of the items and the options I had and what to avoid. He made some suggestions and we went ahead with our order. I got. the tri tip steak and my wife got gnochi. Oh another thing about how i like my food. I like the ingredients, steak, potatoes, vegetables, etc, seasoned and not the other way around. I find a lot of places over season their food. Not here. the steak, veggies, and mashed potatoes were lightly seasoned, just enough to enhance the flavor but not overwhelm the core ingredient. the steak was tender, the vegetables perfectly cooked and seasoned. I didn't even try and figure our what seasonings they used, I just enjoyed the meal. Short of this part of the meal, fantastic. With the gnochi, we had a little bit of an issue. There was a problem with how they were cooked, they were a little stiffer than they should be, but the sauce they were in was fantastic. BTW, they are not gluten free, so this is my wife's perspective. When they asked how our meal was we mentioned that to them. They looked at the gnochi and agreed. they then didn't just correct the issue, but went above and beyond. They asked if we wanted something else, made a suggestion since we couldn't decide and prepared that for us. They also did something else while we were there. They tried to make more batches of the gnocchi, not for us but so that they could see what went wrong. Then came back and told us what they had done and the results. The service was some of the best I have ever had. They had a good selection of gluten free options, depending on your sensitivity your options might change, but there are plenty of options and a few that are not on the menu. The owner suggested a burger on mashed potatoes, even though they have a gluten free bun. My gluten sensitvity is pretty high, so he was providing as many options for me as possible. All in all, I really liked the food, the service, and the attention to my food sensitivities.
