Can we still consider Asian food exotic in Paris. We are crawling under Chinese/ Vietnamese/Japanese/Thainese sampling restaurants. The explosion of spiciness, the sweet and sour, the crazy succession of dumplings, I get it but sometimes we just need to go back to our roots and rediscover the humble flavors of our childhood.
"Les anges gourmands"is a bloody good caterer. Nothing pompous but don't misinterpret what are said, it is far from basic. Nobody really cook elaborate dishes for lunch time on a daily basis like those ones.
It feels good to be offered for a very reasonable price a traditional french meal. At first sight the menu format may appear tricky but in reality it is well design to satisfy all the types of customer base.
For the manly workers: lasagna, blanquette de veau, hachi parmentier, feuilletés with spinach.
For the corporate workers cautious about calories: protein like rotis de porc, tomato beef boulettes combine with a large choice of salads : lentil with lemon, veg julienne, cabbage with bacon strips.
They even offers a soup of the day.
NB: The place is crowded by workers at lunch time and adds to the bistrot atmosphere but they also have a take away option. read more
