Enhanced Performance Transmission and Repair

Enhanced Performance Transmission and Repair

After failing to even start work on my car's transmission after seven months and then telling me…read morethey were unable to fix it as promised, Enhanced Performance Transmission tried to collect a bogus "diagnostic" fee from me for $105 when I came to pick it up. When I declined to pay their bogus "diagnostic" fee, their lady office manager became very mean and nasty. She started yelling at me and told me to get my car off their lot immediately. I politely asked if I could borrow some jumper cables to start my car and she slammed the door on me. If this were not bad enough, I was later informed that Enhanced Performance Transmission allowed some towing company who thought my car was someone else's to come take it and my car's the four-wheel drive system may have been damaged. While I understand this used to be a good shop, James has quit and John has had some health problems. So I certainly can forgive them for some of my bad experience with them. However, the ridiculous demand for money by and the outrageous behavior of their lady office manager is something I have a real problem with.

This is the "GO-TO" place for Transmission trouble-shooting and repairs. James is a real honest…read moreguy and really knows what he's doing. Got to give him time though, because he's so popular that he usually needs some advance notice to drop your car/truck off for repairs. I have used their services twice and was very pleased both times....

Took off of work to get the car to the shop by 1:00 so it could have diagnostic completed that…read moreafternoon. No call that day or next so I called just before COB and was told it wasn't done. Received callback about 30 min later with estimate and timeframe of 2.5-3 weeks. All in-line with other shops. So I agreed and left the car with them. Three weeks later I hadn't had a call so I called and was told it was back together but needed to be checked one last time and should be ready soon. I called three days later and still it wasn't finished. The following Monday I was told again that it just needs to be checked again and should be ready soon. On Wednesday the phone went to message that it was after business hours and to call back. Emailed the shop and no response and still no answer the next day. That Friday there was still no answer no voicemail option and no email response. I went to the shop where a mechanic was in the garage and a note in the door saying the office was closed and to call the business number, which still didn't have an answer or voicemail, to schedule an appointment. I left a written not asking to be contacted. Now another week later the car is 2.5 weeks overdue and I am told the exact thing. It needs to be checked one last time. The owner's daughter claims she is the boss but then said her father is. She is rude. And just says it will be done when it's done. I have zero faith. The other reviews left here we're lucky to get away with a working car. Do Not Take Your Car Here!

I had dropped my car off in December and it was there for 3 weeks. If I hadn't kept calling to…read morecheck I seriously think it would have taken a lot longer. Not once did they actually diagnose it. They first said the CV was bad and I paid $600 for that..only for them to tell me they could hear the transmission still so it needed a new one. It was a whee bearing- which if they would have actually hooked it up to see what codes, if any it had they would know. Take your car elsewhere instead where they know what they are doing!

Do not go there until you want more unexpected problems. Never fix what they are supposed to and…read morenew issues will arise after going there. More expensive than a dealership too.

Ok so I went for an oil change yesterday and the guy who changed my oil showed me a small broken…read morepart which was the filter bypass valve. He had me take a picture of it so they knew what I was when i went to fix it. He said it was a very quick fix but needed to be done before I go home (I live in California and was supposed to be on the road YESTERDAY) he sent me to this place DeWitt service center to get it fixed. While I was there they said it would be about 30 minutes to get the part. So I went to get food with my kids 9 and 9 months who were in the car with me and came back and sat in the parking lot waiting for the part to get there. When it "came in" he said that I couldn't drive the car in the back which in pretty normal but did seem kinda weird for such a small part. So we got out and waited for probably about an hour for a 30 second fix. Then he said there was an even bigger problem. He said the who bigger part that the little piece goes into was broken and eaking oil. He said it was gonna be a close to 900 dollar fix. I thought about it for a minute and then said ok let's just do it cause I was more in mom mode. Then he said they wouldn't be able to fix it till next week. I was like well I can't wait till next week so I'll just pay for the other part. He said there was no charge because they didn't do anything since the other part 2as broken there would be no point. All while smiling and joking around with me. (I have a very friendly and joking around personlity) so I took my van and left. When I got home to my parents house in perry I told my step-dad what happened. I showed him the picture and he sent it to his friend who is a mechanic. He said he would look at it in the morning. Well it's the morning and the only part that was broken was the original part I was told and showed was broken at the oil change place which is a 31 dollar part! My step-dad told me that they were gonna make an appointment with me to fix it. Put the 31 dollar part in, wait around for 3 or 4 hours and then charge me 900 dollars for it being "fixed"!! They tried to SCAM me and not only that but took away time for me to get home as like I said I was supposed to be on the road YESTERDAY which I told them they. All they saw in this single mom was a dollar sign. I would NOT trust these guys!
