    University Foreign Car Repair

Had UFCR do a couple things for me. Valvoline said the inner section of my oil filter was damaged…read more& they replaced it free. So I wanted to have it looked at make sure it was done right & figure out why/how it was damaged. Apparently Valvoline must have dropped it. The damage wasn't caused by the car or road. My car needed a total transmission flush.. they did it in a timely manner & things are working good. The reason I went to them was in the spring I had some issues & come to find out there was a recall for it. When I had called Spartan Toyota (before going tho University Foreign Car Repair) they wanted over $200 to "diagnose". Interesting there's a recall & the dealership wants $ to diagnose a recall. The folks at University told me about it & printed out the recall info thus Spartan repaired it without the diagnostic fee. Who does that? Tells you there's a recall & take it to the dealership & get it fixed free. When I came in this time for these other things (granny flush etc) they told me they had a bad review. Now that I found surprising. These folks have been in business many years & always had a stellar reputation. But I didn't use them until recently. I was very confused by them 1st telling me about the bad review. So I read it. That post after reading it seemed like somethings missing. Maybe it was someone else's card, maybe she had a previous experience that went away? But something in it seems like there's more to it. These people at University knocked hundreds off what they originally quoted me. Even during the quote and drop off. When I came back, it was even less than quoted. The work was great. I had no problem with payment with my card. They were jovial gentleman, and truly seemed like they not only cared about my car, but my budget & me as a person. Some people are just never happy unless it's free & even then....they'd probably complain

Honest, nice and overall great people to work on your car. Had my VW at the dealership and two…read moreother shops for an electrical issue that they never could fix but these guys got it done!

Badgley's is a combination auto repair shop and museum. It's been operated by three generations of…read morethe Badgley family, since 1948, at that location. They love to work on antique cars (although that's not their sole line of work) so there's almost always something interesting being taken apart and lovingly restored. I've been taking my cars there for 20 years, and I trust them absolutely. They routinely tell me I don't know what I'm talking about, and that what I want them to fix isn't the real problem, or it's not worth fixing. Very salt-of-the-earth. Decent, kind, concerned, ethical. When I bring in a problem that isn't within their specialty, they immediately tell me, and refer me to somebody they'd trust to repair their own cars - and I've always found their referrals to be solid too. They shop around for used parts, when that seems like the right way to go. They bought a used engine mount and held onto it for six months for me, because they knew mine needed replacing. Of course, that means they trust ME too - it has to run in both directions. Might not be the cheapest place in town, if you're trying to patch something up to get back on the road. But if you want it done right, the Badgley brothers will do it.

The workmanship, body, paint and mechanical was so subpar it couldn't win a prize at a neighborhood block party. It is now at a quality shop being restored from scratch. No explanation was given for the subpar work except "it was difficult for us". They refused to offer any type of settlement and will not take my calls. A lawsuit has been started. I also have a GTO which they did the mechanicals and is still leaking after four years. I take it back to them every spring, they say they've fixed it, by fall it's leaking again.

Avoid Feldman Chevrolet in Lansing like the plague. This place is nothing more than a high-pressure…read moresales trap disguised as a dealership. They'll smile in your face, promise you the world, and the second they've got your signature, they'll disappear faster than your so-called "included services." The level of incompetence in their service department is honestly shocking. Appointments mean nothing to them. Communication is non-existent. And forget about them honoring anything they told you during the sale--they'll pretend they've never heard of it. I've seen more accountability at a middle school group project than I have from anyone working at this place. What really sets Feldman apart is how shamelessly they lie. They'll dangle "perks" like free oil changes or special service accommodations just to close the deal--and then act like you imagined it when you try to redeem what was promised. It's textbook bait-and-switch. To call this place unprofessional would be too kind. It's sleazy, disorganized, and completely customer-hostile. You are just a number here, and once they have your money, your value to them drops to zero. If you enjoy being misled, ignored, and treated like a nuisance for expecting basic decency, Feldman Chevrolet in Lansing is your spot. Otherwise, do yourself a favor--go anywhere else. This place is a walking lawsuit waiting to happen.

They delivered the car to our house. We noticed that one of the car key fobs was short the key. They said they would get it fixed, 5 months and still no fob and no key. This is despite multiple phone calls/texts about it. They kept saying they are working on it. During the winter, two months after having the car, we noticed an oil spill on the garage floor. We took it to a Lexus dealer and they found an oil pan seal leak. The Lexus mechanic said it should have been spotted at Feldman's inspection. We had a flat with a nail in the side of a tire. We took car to Belle tire. They stated tires were in the red on all tires and also should have been caught at Feldman's inspection. We had asked about the tires before buying it and we were assured that they were in good shape. Discussed with another Belle Tire manager at a different store and was told the same given the miles we had driven on the car after taking ownership. We had to buy 4 new tires. Feldman's stated that the bald tires were in good shape and refused to make it right. Bottom line do not trust their mechanics or what they promise you. Have a trusted mechanic look over the car first. We will never buy another car from Feldman's.
