The entire spa has such a calming, relaxing atmosphere that truly captures the peaceful, zen experience you'd expect from a head spa. The pricing is also very reasonable and, in my opinion, among the best value you'll find in Orange County. My most recent visit was with Ms. Pinky, and she was absolutely outstanding. Her technique, professionalism, and attention to detail made the experience even more enjoyable. This has always been my go-to recommendation whenever someone asks for a head spa in the area, and it will continue to be. Highly recommend!

SELF CARE is a MUST for everyone. I tried the 90 min treatment and I LOVEDDDD it. They had a privacy curtain around you, dimmed lighting, relaxing Zen music and the treatment was of so many lovely layers. I enjoyed the scalp massage, the different scents of shampoo and conditioners and I even added the hair Hot oil treatment, and my hair is still soft a week later. They massaged my head, my face and even a mini facial that felt refreshing and relaxing. I highly recommend this place, great staff and a great experience overall. I had nothing on my agenda in West Garden Grove, saw a banner advertising $40 for 45 minutes, and thought... why not treat myself? Best. Decision. Ever. I walked in without an appointment and was warmly greeted by Tracy (easy to remember). I let her know I was a walk-in, and they graciously took me right in. She showed me to a changing room where I was given a basket for my belongings and a cozy robe to change into. Already feeling relaxed! Once I was settled on the spa bed, the pampering began. They wrapped my feet in warmers and placed a warm pad on my chest -- instant comfort. Holly started with a gentle cleanse of my face, neck, and chest while warm steam flowed over my skin. It felt amazing. Then came the head massage (the dreamy head scratch everyone talks about!) followed by more neck and shoulder massage with hot stones. At some point I definitely drifted off -- which tells you how relaxing it was -- but I remember cool stones placed on my face, more soothing massage, and the grand finale: my hair being washed and conditioned with the most refreshing scents. When the session ended, I sat up to cool, invigorating lotion on my back and shoulders before getting dressed. As if that wasn't enough, she led me downstairs and blow-dried my hair to finish everything off perfectly. Tracy explained that longer sessions include hand, arm, and foot massages... and now I'm already planning my next visit. This was the perfect introduction to head spas. However, appointment can only be made with a deposit of $20 per person. They sent me instructions by text msg. I sent venmo of $20 per person and had to screenshot and send a text to confirm before the appointment was made. Although a hassle, I can understand. However, the issue began on the date of our appointment. I got to the establishment for our 11am appointment to realize that their doors were locked and were completely closed. I called and they then told me that one of the technicians had gotten into an accident and will be 15 mins late, but they will have another technician open the door. We were okay with that... 30 minutes later, we were still standing outside in 80+ degree heat. Mind you that I drove an hour to get here from LA. We were let inside at 11:40am. After changing, we were told to lay down. However, the other technician still didn't arrive, so we laid there and talked. The service started when she walked in at 11:55am. They only have two different services and we went with their 90 minute Kaori Treatment ($138). The hair wash was decent and relaxing. The products smelled wonderful... However, the technician I had seemed inexperienced. The "lifting" facial was a joke as she just patted my face and put a mask on it. When we were told to get dressed for the blow dry, it was 12:55pm. Definitely not a 90 minute service as were seated for approximately 10-15 minutes to blow dry our hair before our service was completely over. It was about a 75 minute service. Also, they do not offer tea or snacks. I was so thirsty, I had to ask for water. Other reviews talked about a face and scalp consultation which was was not offered to us. We never got any analysis period. At the time of payment, they gave us a discount due to the troubles. However, they didn't deduct that deposit we had made and they had trouble confirming it with whomever they were speaking with. I ended up showing them the text log with the screenshot of payment. As this is a second location, I expected at least the basic standard of care. I came to relax, but I the whole situation stressed me out and I was disappointed. I should have learned by now not to trust Instagram influencers. That being said, I will be returning to my usual hair spa.

I was greeted right away and the receptionist explained all the different packages and options they had without rushing me. Navi took care of me and my facial and head massage were so good I caught myself falling asleep a few times. HEAD SPA/MASSAGE: 5/5. The first part is a hair analysis. Mine was so gross so I will not be showing a video of that LOL. Then you get into your robe and they start you off with a facial. Navi was super thorough and I myself am an esthetician so I know the full routine of what a facial should be like and she went above and beyond. I felt like the facial was never ending because there were a lot of products going on my face along with jade rollers and more! I probably felt my hair getting washed at least 4-5 times. It felt so good and not too strong. I also got a neck, shoulder and chest massage that hurt so good! She got my knots and I definitely felt it haha. OVERALL: 5/5. There's 5 beds and the space is super clean. I love that it's dimly lit so you're already relaxed and there's curtains to separate you from everyone else. Someone else was getting serviced by me and I couldn't hear her other than the masseuse explaining to her what she was going to do. Can't wait to go back!! It starts off with scalp analysis. It was kinda gross but cool too haha! I was basically like a full on facial and hair treatment. The facial massage was much needed! She was like snatching me up. Then, the head massage made me want to snooze lol. Then she used rollers, gua sha, and ice rollers then red light therapy. The neck, shoulder and arm massage was relaxing too. Then moved onto the hair treatment. She scrubbed my hair good! And that rainfall thing gave my tingles from my head to my toes. It was just a relaxing experience overall. They dry your hair and there's a foot massage near the chair which is a nice touch. When I was done, my hair was silky, light and clean. They did scalp analysis again the difference was crazy! Highly recommend checking Avana Headspa especially while they have their summer promotion! There's multiple hairspa beds and rooms for waxing and other treatments in the back and spacious. Small location very private but noisy. Holly was my tech. She was the only one in there for the first 1/2 of my 90 minute service, which meant during the service she was also the receptionist. She was on her phone a lot, I was rather annoyed by her answering calls in what is supposed to be a relaxing service. The service was ok, going from touching her phone to my face wasn't my favorite. Very heavy, rough hands. I have fine hair and it was a lot of pulling. Massage was fine still very heavy handed and the position to sit in at the end was not comfortable, maybe because I'm a taller? I'm not sure. Not sure if they were having plumbing issues, but the water was cold the whole service. It warmed only slightly but not comfortable. What was most concerning was how tangled my hair was at the end. I have never seen my hair in such a knotted mess. Yes she was able to detangle, by pulling it apart and ripping the hair. The tangles were caused by poor products and shampoo technique. A good conditioner and proper rinsing would never leave my hair like that, the 90minite service was also supposed to include blowdry, I was told to pay $10 more. I will not be returning. I wish them luck and hope they can use this as a reference to make the experience better. There are MANY head spas in the area that take better care of the client for the same price.
