This place is a disappointment. If you need glasses of any significant power, their in-house lab can't handle it. They will tell you it would take two weeks and they will want to send it offsite. So don't waste your time if what you want is quick turn-around glasses. Their ad says they can make glasses in around an hour, but that is misleading and false. I just visited this LensCrafters location in Ashburn. I am not surprised seeing so many bad reviews. Those bad reviews definitely are factual. The one black salesman of all the people is a condescending, nasty and racist person who takes sadistic pleasure by snubbing and ridiculing and insulting other people Not only that he seems to lie through his teeth. I am working with a lawyer to sue them, and have filed complains with the BBB and soon my legal team will be requesting footage of the day of the incident. My mom who speaks conversational English but gets overwhelmed and doubts herself, went in to ask the status on her lens since it had been over 30 days. My mom saw her glasses there though (she was getting her lens replaced in a frame she owned) so assumed they had never sent out her glasses. She asked me to come in and speak to them to translate. I went and the assistant manager, Jessica asked "Is this person with you" pointing to me and my mother said, yes it's my daughter. I asked what happened, and she said we fix the lenses once they come in and i said okay, whats the reason for the delay and then said "i will not be speaking to you since you are not client" and my mom raised her voice and said, "you cant speak to us like that, and i am asking you to explain it to us" I politely said, "can i speak to the manager" to which jessica, you'll only speak to me, and your business with lenscrafter is done, and gave us a refund" The doctor also said inappropriate things to us. Shoutout to Bernard. The associates were all busy, but Bernard saw me browsing and provided me with a tray and was accommodating and friendly. He was with another customer but stated someone would help when they could. Their selection was pretty good and I found a few options during the hour I browsed and waited. The frames I liked best were chosen by another customer but Bernard showed me the label so I could take a quick photo. I ended up leaving because they were so busy, but I will be back to this location because of Bernard. read more

If I can give them below zero I would have done it. The only thing they are good at is giving you sweet words but their products sucks and not up to standards. they lie and instead of fixing your frame or lenses, they destroy them. They are discriminative up to the bone. Their discrimination varies depending on circumstances. An honest opinion do not go there. You are risking there your yearly benefits and you may end in a damaged product. Nobody to complain to including that corrupted manager in Dulles Mall Sterling who is only good at sweet talk. This was my first time here. I get my eye care from the VA but they messed my prescription up the last time and gave me a pair of glasses that were useless. So, I went to the Sterling Lenscrafters to get a decent pair of glasses despite the fact that they were expensive. I got a prescription next door and picked out a nice pair of glasses. So happy with this place! Although we like our actual eye doctor, I do not enjoy getting glasses there as it always seems to be a big deal with them pushing all sorts of extras. Once "covid" hit it became a complete pain. To this day they don't allow walk ins, and with a teenage son glasses get bent, lenses pop out, and frames need tlc. Two years ago we decided to try Lenscrafters's and it was a wonderful decision. Not only is the actual ordering of new frames easy, but you can stop by anytime if there is a problem. Once they even cleaned my sons glasses while I was looking for frames. Making an appointment to have an earpiece put back on is ridiculous, here you simply pop in and they fix it. My glasses broke. Not so big a deal since I basically only ever wear contact lenses. Even still, I like to have those frames as a back up. So while my son was next door waiting for his eye exam, I decided to bring my glasses next door to see if there was anything they could do for them. This was about 10 minutes after opening and there were at least two employees that I could see. One greeted me right away. I showed her my problem and she said, "Sure. Can you leave then with me for five minutes?" I told her I'd come back when my son was done and left them with her. Returned about 20 minutes later and the glasses were fixed! :) I offered to pay, but they told me it was okay. She helped me look around for a new pair of frames for my son. He's so picky, but she didn't pressure him on anything. In the end we left. But, I would consider coming here in the future for frames and lenses. read more

I purchased a box of 100-count dry wipes, and when I got home, discovered they sold me a used box. Looks like it was the box they used to clean customers' glasses in-store. My husband has been ill, and we have been relying on our son to drive us to the hospital and doctor's appointments. My son's glasses were over ten years old and today he told me that last night they broke in half. He did not have another pair and could not see. This was an emergency situation and I was in a panic about what we would do. We went to LensCrafters in the Dulles Mall and Mark took my son's glasses and quickly went around the room trying to find out which frames the lenses would fit in. On of the worst experience I have ever had in a vision store, I entered the store no one greeted me or offered to assist, they were greeting other customers who came after me but not me, maybe they just didn't like me, after picking the frames they started to offer to assist me, I had the worst experience with the specialist who was assisting me , lack of information and knowledge beside the worst customer service, he kept asking me in the doctor prescription even though he should be the one providing the information, was not willing to take any extra step to give me answers or a good experience. I actually had a good experience when I went. I walked in with my prescription and was almost greeted the minute I walked in. My attendant Kathy helped me with my order. I didn't want to get new frames and I like my current pair. I gave her my prescription and my insurance information. As she entered the information in to the computer, she showed me what my insurance would cover. She was very friendly and helpful. Since I'm practically blind as a bat, my lenses were not on hand. They had to be special ordered and could take up 7-10 days to arrive. I had no issues with this at all. I was told I would be called as soon as they came in. Less than a week later, I was called about my lenses. I dropped them off a couple days later. When I came back, Kathy was there and remembered me. She made sure my lenses were there before I gave her my glasses and left. I told her I'd be waiting for them. So I roamed around the mall blind, hoping not to bump into anybody or fall over the railing. Anyhow, I went back about 45 minutes later and started looking around the store. About 5 minutes later, I was told to try them on as they were done. Perfect fit. What more can I ask for? I've never had an issue with this location. I just had an amazing experience at Lens Crafters. Over the years, I had gone to the Tyson's store, but since we moved to Loudoun, the Dulles Town Center location is more convenient. As usual, Lens Crafters have a great selection of designer frames and I found a beautiful pair of reading glasses and sunglasses. The eye doctor next door is fantastic. I would highly recommend and would give her 5 stars. LensCrafters is great with a few hicups. The manager there was very kind, I believe her name is Kathy. We were there in the evening and waited on my husband's glasses. We didn't buy new frames, just new lenses. We decided to wait and walk around the mall and it was near closing so when we returned it wasn't ready yet. It turns out the lens cutter misplaced my husband's frames so they were frantically trying to look for it. Luckily, they did. For having to wait so long after closing, they gave us free supplies of our choosing, which was very generous. We just got lens cleaner and wipes. About a month later my husband's frames broke. We returned to LensCrafters and they said they can't fix the frames because of where it broke, but since we got the lenses not too long ago, they said we can do a return and purchase new ones with frames. It was a long process, but the person who assisted us was extremely friendly and helpful. At peak times it's ridicuously crowded and you could be waiting a long while for someone to help you. The best time to go is weekdays during the day, weekends when they first open or after 7pm. read more

Worst eye exam appointment ever. I was told I would pay $10 copayment before the exam was done. After the exam they told me I had to pay $126 before I left home. That's over $100 of what they initially told me. When I tried to ask why this had happened they were very rude and told me there's nothing they can do about it now. I asked if they could bill me at home because I did not have the money with me, they said no. So I had to pay with my debit card that did not have sufficient funds. So I got charged a penalty fee ontop of all that. They are very rude and unhelpful and give out false information to their patients. Will never come back. read more

My prescription was too complicated so my glasses were sent off. I chatted with LensCrafters online and they told me my glasses were at the Dulles store. I went to the store, waited for 45 minutes for someone to tell me they had no idea LensCrafters had an online chat feature and that they had the ability to tell where my glasses were at. I left the store. Same day I received a call that my glasses were in. I went back to the store and waited for another 45 minutes. LensCrafters... Hire more people or make the lab people who stare at us while we wait at least help those who are just picking up!!!! read more

My husband bought a pair of glasses here for $400. They broke within 3 month's and these people refused to fix them. When my husband went back to ask them to fix the glasses the general manager was to busy flirting with some woman that he couldn't even be courteous enough to acknowledge my husband's problem. He just gave him a rude attitude and told him to use his insurance to buy a new pair... The glasses they sale might be name brand but they are made cheaply and are over priced! You would definitely expect better quality for the price then what you get. Really, they break far to easy. I'd strongly recommend going elsewhere. Your money is better spent at an establishment that keeps their word and hires employees that have some level of integrity. If you're like me then: (1) You will not get your eyeglasses in a timely fashion, and you will be lied to about when your prescription will arrive. LensCrafters may get you into the store that way, but it's now been 11 days since I ordered my glasses - and I'm still wearing my old pair. (2) You will be treated rudely and lied to by the employees at the establishment. I hope you're not looking to check up on that pair of glasses that you bought, and never received. I am absolutely appalled by the service they provided today. I have been there a few times, and they were great. Today, My husband took my sister to repair her glasses, as one of the lens escaped from the nylon around it. The glasses were not made there, but we decided to take them in for repair since they had been helpful before. They examined the glass and said that it would be about 15 minutes to fix it and would call when it was ready. About 10 minutes after it, they called, saying that the glass was chipped, and they would refuse to fix it. My husband and my sister went back to the store and spoke with both the employee and manager, and they refused to admit that they broke the lens, and did not want to fix it. Obviously they did not want the liability of breaking the lens. We did not want to fix it ourselves to not break the lens. They examined the glasses before we left them and there was nothing noted that the lens were chipped as they said later, they even accepted fixing it without problems. Now, my sister has no glasses, no way to fix it, and LensCrafters prefer to lie to her instead of accepting the liability and fixing it. This is unacceptable! Taking ownership on your mistake would have been the right thing to do, and the cost to fix what they did would be a lot cheaper than having a review on yelp and losing potential customers for lack of care and honesty. Lenscrafters, you lost your credibility with your customers. And not because you broke the lens, but because you lied to us, afraid to admit and fix your mistake. SHAME ON YOU! read more

On Sunday afternoon I stopped by your location over at the Dulles town center. Upon arriving at the store, one of the nicest and politest associates greeted me, his name was Mr. Bernard and he seemed extremely knowledgable at the same time very patient with my question as a first time eyeglass buyer. Basically I had my prescription pice of paper in my hand and wanted to see what those numbers were. I had already ordered my contact lenses using the same numbers and I just wanted to know why Imcan't seem to understand this glass prescription section! I like to know all the details before I can feel comfortable and order my glasses. Bernard was super supportive and gladly answered all my questions. He even drew pictures on a piece of paper of what each sphere, cylinder and axis are used for. I was amazed by his knowledge and patience and the great attitude. I felt so comfortable with the idea of ordering my first pair of glasses. He said he can find me a pair that works for my face, doesn't have to be bulky and I can order and walk out of the store in 1.5!hours which is amazing. Bernard is a living example of a well behaved, non rushing, jnowledegable employee who I believe deserves to her recognized becausen of his efforts to provide a great customer service. Let me add that before I stopped by Sears Optical (I parked on that side of the mall so walked into the Sears first) and the associate who was there didn't even want to,answer anything and the store was empty, no customer. He basically said if you want info, ask your doctor, we're busy and I was stunned by his rudeness. When they say it takes about an hour, they are talking about getting waited on. Although the eye doctor next door, Dr. Unwalla is excellent, Lenscarafters is a joke. They never have more than 2 people working, so plan opn waiting at least an hour even to pick up glasses. Your prescription will change before you get service. I visited the Lenscrafters in Sterling, VA at the Dulles Town Center, February7, 2015 to get my three week old glasses that I got from this store repaired or replaced. This was the second pair. The first pair lasted six months as the lenses were getting scratched. They actually gave me completely new lenses and frames, because I had the insurance. Awesome. I had been to this store a few times over the past 6 months. This time was different. I walked in and stood in the middle of the store. After a few minutes one of the sales associates, waiting on customers, asked me to sit in one of the seats up front, which I did. There were two separate women already waiting in the other two sets of chairs. After 5 minutes another couple came into the store and were looking around. After 15 minutes one of the other sales associates that was waiting on another couple, started to wait on them first for a new fitting. OK, not big deal, yet. So I got skipped over. The first woman in the chairs next to me was waited on for a new fitting. Finished and gone. Then a family came in (mom, dad and two daughters) and sat where the lady that was fitted with new glasses just left. Then the same sales associated waited on the lady next to me. After she finished with her, she went back to the new family and started waiting on them to pick up new glasses for one of the daughters. Starting to boil. Now about 25 minutes has passed and I am getting irritated. Then another couple came in with a baby and sat down next to me. Now the sales associate that waited on the family asked them what they were here for, instead of me! What am I invisible!!! They politely pointed out that I was there first. Now I'm angry! I asked why there wasn't a sign in sheet or something, so that you can appropriately wait in the correct customers. There must be some kind of organization to the store. She then hinted that there was a sign in sheet somewhere but had no idea where it was. They obviously weren't using it. I then pointed out all the people that were waited on before me that arrived in the store AFTER me. Bloods boiling at this point. This is just typical modern poor customer service. Everyone talks about it, nobody really does it. It's just a marketing ploy, to make you feel that everyone really cares about you as a customer, NOT. Then I described my problem with my new glasses that the hinge was falling apart and these were only a few weeks old. She made a 2 minute attempt to repair them and then stated that I would need to get the frames replaced. Then we went over to the computer and it took her three times to get my phone number right, originally stating that I must have used another number. WRONG. I only have one phone number, which now I must have repeated 5 times. She finally found my record and stated that I didn't have insurance and would have to pay for new frames. I told here these were new glasses that were just replaced a few weeks ago with the insurance that I purchased. NOW, I REALLY DONE WITH THIS STORE! She asked if I wanted to speak with the manager on duty to see what he could do. I said NO and I will never come back, EVER AGAIN. This is some of the worst customer service. I will NEVER shop at a Lenscrafters again and will tell everyone I meet to do the same. p.s. I always had to wait more than an hour and a half to two hours to pick up my glasses. Last time I came to pick up these new glasses, they asked me to come back the following day, as there was a problem with the glasses and they broke them! REALLY. That's it.
