If you live in the Hudson Valley and you wear eyeglasses look no further for your next pair - I guarantee Brion has just what you're looking for! If you're one of those people who doesn't know what you're looking for, fear not. Brion has the knowledge and experience to help you select just the right frame and lenses for you - both in terms of style and in terms of functionality. At other Opticians I have used in the past, clients are expected to walk around and peruse the various available frames, selecting several they like essentially at random, with little understanding of the differences in size and fit. At Optique Elegance, however, Brion will briefly discuss your desires and requirements, and then bring the frames to you! I found this process most enjoyable - as you try on each pair, he will take your thoughts into consideration, sometimes intuitively understanding why one pair is just a little 'off' even when you can't quite put it into words. Before you know it, Brion will have whittled the dozens of options down to a handful of pairs that all look great and fit perfectly! The hardest part, frankly, will be choosing just one pair - and not because you can't find one that's just right, but because there's more than one! A point to note - Brion sees clients by appointment only, due to the personal attention he gives to each individual. This is, of course, mentioned above in the establishment details, but it hadn't occurred to me to check before my first visit. Unfortunately, with my arrival, I interrupted Brion in the middle of his meeting with another client. Not to worry, Brion was very gracious and accommodating and made me an appointment for later that afternoon on the spot. I mention this only to save you the embarrassment of a similar faux pas - believe me, the value of Brion's personal attention far outweighs any potential inconvenience!

She and her staff are considerate, personal, and very professional. To give you an idea of the type of person she is, when I had LASIK many years ago, all I was required to do was to get to her office - she drove me to the vision correction center in Manhattan, because at the time it was the closest and best. And while the number and types of treatments have improved over the years, she still shows that same care towards her patients. After the LASIK, she put me on a slightly more rigorous regimen than average, and it was well worth it - the flap on the cornea healed almost seamlessly, with no problems since.

When I go every year, since everything is covered under my benefits we make the appointments and go get our eyes checked. When I was getting my eyes checked, the eye doctor (lady) was writing up my prescription. I told her that since my eyesight hadn't changed that dramatically, I would like to keep my same prescription as the year before. This made Dr Karen visibly angry, as I noticed her turn beet-red. What a mistake going to Dutchess Optometry in Poughkeepsie! Through the years, I've chosen to drive to the Red Hook office where they are wonderful, amazing and professional (the only reason for any stars). Christine is awesome! Because of you, Emily, Dutchess Optometry will not see anyone in my family and I will make it my business to share my experiences with everyone I know. The doctors are very good there but the some of the the front desk people (your Poughkeepsie office) need to go get jobs at a prison. Here's what happened, this time: I ordered colored contacts. Dr. Lappin told me the brand that has them in colors, she read me the list of colors, I chose my color. They ended ordering them in clear, they try to act like the mistake is my fault and expect me to eat the entire cost. In an uncaring manner, it was conveyed that they weren't going to make it right, I told Emily that I don't want the wrong order and to send me my scripts and she obliged. No apologies, no patient care, as if to say we don't care!!! Haha, we took your money already and your loss. Well, another mistake on your part. Im sad that this is how you treat people.
