Several issues regarding price for glasses and the use of insurance. Would've been overcharged if I hadn't looked closely and asked for an itemized receipt. Then they took 50 mins to correct the changes because they didn't know what to do. On a separate occasion they said my glasses were ready and upon arrival they weren't and they had to get them ready when I was there, more time wasted. read more

BEWARE: LensCrafters / Dr. Magalhes and Associates in North Attleboro was a very disappointing experience. I went in for new glasses and clearly stated multiple times that I only wanted services covered by my insurance. Each time I was told, "of course." I've now received an unexpected bill for an additional $145. When I called, I was told they "don't know what insurance covers" and that I had signed paperwork agreeing to pay any extra charges. My issue isn't even the amount -- it's the principle. If a patient specifically asks what is covered, that conversation should be handled honestly and transparently before services are performed. Based on my experience, I would encourage others to avoid using them. Their business practices are boderline illegal. read more

I'm currently standing at the front desk of this location, and I have been wondering around for 35 minutes with my wife. The entire time, not a single associate came to us to ask us if we were being helped or if we needed assistance. This is the second time I've been to this location with the exact same level of service. No a hello. Not a welcome. Not a "can I help you with anything". They have three other people in the store being helped, and one associate who's just wondering around seemingly aimlessly. We've tried to get their attention but to no avail. So I'm standing here, with the glasses I would like, and for 20 minutes no assistance whatsoever. Cannot recommend this place less. read more

The doctor was very kind and explained everything in laymen's terms. I appreciated everyone in the glasses marketplace. They helped me know my financing options and worked within my budget to help me find glasses I loved! They saw we on time (I hate when you have to wait) and there's plenty of parking. read more

had my glasses break a few times over the years, they always get it done fast and it didn't cost me a dime.

They were busy and did not communicate why a long wait.I waited an hour and a half to be seen. I asked if my insurance was going to cover the exam and was informed it would. During my exam I was asked to sign a separate consent form for a retina exam. I asked if that was going to be covered. The tech said it would and signed the consent. It was not. Came in to check out new frames. I have kind of a hard face to fit - very narrow, with small features. For the first time ever (after close to 40 years of wearing glasses), the helpful clerk explained the normal temple-to-temple millimeter size of frames, and pointed me toward a rack of narrower-sized frames (including kids' sizes that were perfect for me). THANK YOU, Rosie! The frames you helped me find and buy are incredibly stylish and flattering. I'll get my new glasses tomorrow, then will be able to comment on whether the order fulfillment is as strongly positive, and how well my prescription is reflected in the finished product. read more

I went online and picked out everything I wanted and went to the store with the printed copy. Of course they didn't have the frames I wanted and no one knew when or if they were getting anymore or if another store had them. I had a sales clerk who as far as I am concern didn't have a clue as to what he was doing and therefore really could not give me any direction. I finally found another frame and had it all set up. Unfortunately I had forgotten my prescription but I called the eye doctor and had him fax a copy which they told me did not come through. I explained to them that I had somewhere to be and that I would fax the prescription when I got home and would pay over the phone with my credit card. Another person named Lydia measured everything and set everything up. I faxed the prescription and called the store which they stated that they got the prescription. I gave Sue my credit card information and they were supposed to call me back. I called 2-3 times more that night as no one called me back and gave me a confirmation or pick up date. My Credit Card sent me an email stating that a payment was put through my card. So I waited figuring I would get a call when the glasses were ready. I received no communication so on Friday of the following week I called and was told they didn't have an order for me. Crystal the manager had to go and check everything out and finally found my order with my name spelled incorrectly after the original sales person asked me to spell my name and repeat my telephone number 3 times. She explained that my glasses were due the following Wednesday. On Monday I believe I got a text stating they arrived. I picked them up. I would not recommend this store at all and I would not go back here for any reason. I felt the service was awful, I was mad about all the mix up and promises of calls and no calls. The worst part is you pay more when you go to Lens Crafters but you get no better service than a Walmart which costs you alot less. read more

Everyone here is great. I was very nervous because this was my first eye exam ever and everyone here was very knowledgeable and friendly. The eye doctor was very nice and made sure I knew what was happening before it happened. Crystal was very helpful at finding glasses. She was very funny and kind and had the best attitude about everything. She didn't mind when I changed my mind on things and was helpful with everything I needed. I have never felt more comfortable in a doctors office or have had such great genuine service. Please consider going here for any eye exam whether it's your 100th or your first. They have had me believing that I had macular degenerative disease for the past few years. I had to spend money on vitamins and extra appointments more frequently to be sure I wasn't getting worse. My sister had it and went blind, so this caused me extreme anxiety. The store isn't good either. I had them hold glasses for me and they put them back. When I went to get them originally had 2 people helping me look on the shelves for them and when I looked up they were helping other people and didn't even tell me. read more

I actually really like this place. I go to the doctors here and have had glasses from here. The doctors turn over pretty frequently but they are very nice. It is really easy to get a night or weekend appointment here which is practically impossible at other eye doctors. I also feel like their equipment is very up to date even though they try to upsell you. I just want an easy appointment and this place provides it. I also was able to get an emergency visit when I hurt my eye and the doctor was great even though I almost passed out. My insurance also covers very good deals at Lenscrafters and they adjust your glasses for free which is so nice. read more

I wanted to get some replacement lenses for my glasses made quickly and this sight has its own lab a can do this. I asked over the phone for an idea of how much this would cost. The person I talked to said I would have to come in to the store for that. So I drove the 40 miles to do this. When i arrived, I was told I could not get a price quote for the lens replacement unless I filled out a "chart" that included my name, phone, home address, etc. When I said all I wanted was to know the cost for the new lenses they point blank refused to give this to me without getting this personal information. I saw no possible reason they needed this just for a price quote and left. I will certainly never try to deal with them again. I can only assume they sell people personal information for a profit or so they can bombard them with adds for years to come. I either case, I decided I will go elsewhere for my new lenses. read more

I was on the road, visiting my daughter in Franklin, MA and wanted a place to get an eye exam and a quick pair of sunglasses for running and driving. On Friday late afternoon I set up an appointment for Saturday morning. I arrived at 9:45am Saturday morning and left at noon with an exam and the glasses. Everyone, from the desk clerks to the doctor to the frame and lens specialist were super nice and efficient. I will try to return on my viisit next year. read more

This is the second time I have had a horrible experience here. Figured I would give it another try. Not only were they running 30 mins behind on my appointment they loudly asked my for my personal information and medical questions in-front out the waiting room full of other people which is a HIPPA violation. She then proceeded to tell me the doctor would be at least another 20 mins which meant I would be seen 50 mins past my scheduled appointment. I also had to explain detailed questions and was told I would be billed for things that I have never had to pay for. My insurance has not changed at all. Do not go here for anything unless you want your time completely wasted and your personal and medical information put out there for every person in the waiting area. read more

I bought new glasses at LensCrafters in North Attleboro. I noticed a month or so later that there was a crack in the lens and brought them back to show them. It's right next to where the frame comes together, right where the screw is that tightens and holds the frame together. Maybe they tightened the screw too tight and it started the crack, which seems to be getting longer. I figured they'd make me a new lens. They told me it could be the way I clean them. I spread them open too far was what she said. I don't do that, I close them. Then she told me I didn't buy the guarantee. I didn't realize by not buying the guarantee it released them from any kind of responsibility. That's the way it is in the 21st century, they get EVERYTHING, you get NOTHING UNLESS YOU PAY FOR IT! I figure this is the way they think. There's no guarantee on our workmanship, not unless you PAY FOR IT! The employee that thought this up was a genius! Now we have no responsibility for anything, we don't need to worry about a thing. Something goes wrong, we don't have to fix it unless you paid us to. We make a fortune charging for the guarantee plan because hardly nothing goes wrong but when it does, WE DON'T NEED TO CARE because you didn't pay us to care or guarantee our workmanship. That's how it works now! We get everything in our favor and anything you need, YOU PAY FOR IT and we get to keep ALL THE MONEY, that's the only guarantee you get! BEWARE of these big chains, They fix everything in their favor. They must be the relatives of the bookies that fixed races in their favor years ago when horse racing tracks were in their heyday. Ridiculous that it's 2017 and this company refuses to tell you when your glasses will come in. Might be tomorrow, might be 10+ days from now. They have zero sense of urgency. Will use anyone else in the future. I've asked them to check when they'll be in and they refuse, they say they won't check until after 8 days. Poor customer service. I've been going to Lens Crafters for years and have questioned some of their policies along the way, but today was really bad, in my opinion. Their automated recordings say to make your appointment on line, so I did, for Saturday. I was called on Friday and told they had a problem with their on line system and my appointment didn't get made. It was changed to Tuesday. Fine. I go in on Tuesday and was told that I had an appointment, but it was canceled. Turns out, it was canceled because the office manager went in and deleted the on line appointments to "reset" the system. I was told that even though I had spoken to a person, it still went in as an online appointment and was therefore deleted. And they were too busy for me now. I guess they didn't find it necessary to contact me to let me know they deleted my appointment this time. Now I have an appointment for Wednesday. I guess we'll find out if I really do or not. read more

The side piece of my prescription glasses (purchased elsewhere) fell off. I tried screwing it back in but couldn't get it. Lenscrafters is open on Sundays so I stopped in. Although I had to wait about 20 minutes, they fixed the glasses for me and explained because it is a hinge attachment, I would not have been able to do it myself at home. Because it was a simple repair, there was no charge. I was so appreciative, and they did let me donate to a nonprofit partner to provide glasses for children who can't afford them in lieu of paying for the service. Highly recommended! read more

2nd time coming in for an adjustment on my frames and both times NOT 1 employee acknowledges you!! Not even a hello.

My experience was awful!!! First time there, only reason i went is because their hours more flexible in the mall. They are trying to screw everybody for every dollar they can possibly earn. I was told to fill out some paper (there were some plastic sheets,they will erase them right after your appointment.) One of them was they will give you a retina checkout, $25 extra cost will apply to your exam, it is in the middle of no where, if you don't look carefully, you will denifitely miss it and sign for it. They made copy of my insurance card, but when the doctor called me he even called my name wrong. At the end, I realized that they couldn't even type my name RIGHT! At the end, I was told the charge was $145, which the ocntact lens fitting was not covered by my insurance. I asked why i wasn't informed before they gave me the fitting? There was no explaination! The $145 includes the $25 hidden fee i mentioned earlier so I asked for refund. They didn't even apologize, instead, they said "we are not allowed to refund, but we will do an exception". Exception being they got CAUGHT?!! When I got home, I looked at my coverage of my insureance. It states my copay is $10 instead of $25. My contact lens fitting cost is $0!!! I do not need to pay ANYTHING! They overcharged me $135!!The whole cost should've been only $10!!! I never seen business being such unprofessional and in bad practices like this. I'll go there tomorrow to get my money back and will let everyone I know how ridiculous they are! I will never go back and don't recommend anyone go there for their services. read more

I'll start out by saying that my latest experience with this Lenscrafters ended up with me having two pairs of glasses that I like very much and that I can see very clearly out of. Now then, to the juice. First, I've come to this place a handful of times and have been going to the eye doctor on the premises for a few years now. At this most recent appointment, a new doctor greeted me. She's a young Indian-looking lady, pleasant enough but with a very irritating voice that sounds like a blond American ditz with an accent. Still, as I met her and we began my appointment, I thought, "It's no big deal. I'm not here to make friends." All would've been fine if that's where my issues stopped, but oh no. The doctor dilated my eyes and then told me to wait 10 to 15 minutes and she would come out and get me to continue my eye exam. That turned into an hour of waiting, which only ended when I gave the innocent woman at the front desk a bit of attitude. After that boredomfest was behind me, I meandered over to the storefront to find new frames for my new prescription. I picked one out and was told I could wait while the guy behind the glass made them. Again, an hour passed. I'm so glad I recently bought into the smartphone phenomenon. I would've been jumping in front of a car outside otherwise. With my battery dying, I finally took action and blindly walked up to the counter where the technician guy leaves his completed works. My new glasses were sitting there, finished for some period of time. This was 8pm with one other customer in the store. There's no reason the employees couldn't have been periodically checking the pile, especially knowing I was waiting and couldn't see for my life. I definitely won't wait for new frames; I'd recommend either nagging them or just coming back later if you can. As for doing business here again, I probably will...but I'll be ready. read more

I went into this store, the one in the MALL, not the one by target. for the first time last year. I got a pair of frames and transition lenses. Initially I liked the pair, after wearing for a week or two the hinge on the left temple was sticky and hung up all the time. I've worn glasses for the past 34 years and know this isn't right. I brought them in and got a squirt of wd40 and sent on my way. 2 days later and the same thing happened. My father an optician for 40 plus years saw the hinge was defective and saw the lenses were scratched and asked what was up. I only and always use a microfiber cloth. I have hundreds of them. He said the lenses shouldn't be that easy to scratch. I agreed. So back I went. The tech said " oh, I can fix that. " I told him the frame was defective and they didn't like that. I've never had it happen before and a well respected optician, my father saw immediately the hinge was defective. After some discussion, and refusing to take them back, the employee reluctantly took another pair off the shelf. Oh and these frames needed constant adjusting. Something I've also never have happen. I got new lenses with them as well. Paid my $25 copay and waited 10 days. I recently brought the second pair back. The lenses scratch just as easily despite my using microfiber cloth as I have always done. I was then, I felt scolded by the stores manager on how to care for my glasses. Remember I've had glasses for the past 34 years. Just incase I met with the same attitude I had from prior employees there, I brought 2, ten year old glasses and "tried" to show how the lenses were barely scratched and all my glasses receive the same care. She refused to acknowledge them and continued to tell me I was caring for my lenses incorrectly. I received the same stand offish attitude from the store manager. I told her the frames, just like precious ones wouldn't hold their shape toy face. Seeing as I had now 2 defective pair of same frame I would expect the store manager to listen to me and come up with a suitable solution. Nope! I had to pay another $25 and get same pair, again. I called 3 days after that appointment and asked if my glasses were ready. I was told "no, that was only 3 days ago. It takes 14 business days" in 2014, nothing should take that long. With other lens crafters in the area I would have assumed they would call locally to see if they had what I needed in stock. Oh no. That wasn't done. When o went to ask another question, the manger had decided for me that I was not going to ask another question and simply hung up. Now I'm mad. I call customer care. I have to say they were great. She got the regional manager on board with the case and guess what!!!?? Not 2 hours later a rude employee called my home and angrily said to my wife that my glasses were in. And hung up promptly with her. I guess that they don't appreciate a customer who is unhappy going over their heads. They were not great from the start, never listened to me and never offered a solution that would benefit me, the customer. And to show their gratitude for going over their heads they suddenly come up miraculously with the product and call with the rude message. I will not go back to the store after my year contract with my glasses are up and advise others to proceed with caution when given this particular store your hard earned money. read more
