Don't bother going here. The service is slow and terrible. Do not deal with Brooke, she promised to call me back and never did. I have had nothing but problems with the coatings they put on my lenses but since it was past the 30 day guarantee by 2 days they were not going to stand by the faulty coatings and replace them free of charge. I was on vacation and called multiple times to confirm try had my contacts prescription. When I arrived I had a long wait, granted they were busy, and was only then the told me they didn't carry my brand. since I wasn't a patient I would have to get a check up with them. They had my prescription for over an hour and never mentioned this in any of our previous confirmation calls. Drove an hour out of the way to get there because they confirmed they had my contacts. This location is awful to deal with. Unprofessional staff, never have my contact lenses in stock, unknowledgeable personnel, HORRIBLE customer service. I've asked them every time to mark the boxes either left or right and it never gets done even though the boxes have a left or right box pre-printed on them! I recently purchased some new glasses that first didn't fit my head correctly (unlike the floor model I tried on), then after adjusting them they still fell off my nose all day, then they broke only one month after purchasing them. They wouldn't repair or replace them stating that I had not purchased an extended warranty! $500 and one month later I'm wearing my 5 year old glasses again. It's sad to see several poor reviews for this store giving them one star and say that the employees were not able to reach the customers vision insurance plan or the vision insurance company wouldn't call back fast enough. Or that the chairs in the waiting area are dirty so they gave them again a one star review. In their defense I have to say that some of these complaints are due to things out of the control of this store or especially their employees. I have used LensCrafters several times to purchase frames and lenses and always have thought that the service was outstanding, professional and courteous. Solid five stars. Last night just confirmed my thoughts. I had an issue with my new glasses being too heavy and hurting after wearing all day. Pretty much my fault as I chose a more inexpensive lens this time and they're just heavier than my previous pairs of lenses. I was just a little outside of the store's 30 day satisfaction guarantee by a few days. Think it was a problem? No.. Their employee Ryland, along with the store manager were great, just as they were last month when I purchased my glasses. Problem resolved. Professionally, courteously and promptly. An absolute Five Stars for them. People.... before leaving any type of a review, think about whether or not your gripe is really something that is within their power to resolve. And as far as waiting, ya know, sometimes we just have to wait. If a store is busy and you have to wait, that's usually a sign that you are in the right place. And never once have I felt a sense of pressure to sell me add-ons or upgrades. Their job is just to inform and educate you on the choices. Why bother making an appointment? You can just walk in and sit there for two hours just as easily. Very frustrating! It always takes far too long to get through the eye exam. Every year I ask myself why do I go to Lenscrafters? The dr is typically very efficient and knowledgeable, the majority of the staff is ok. There is one staff member Peggy who is GREAT! However, the long wait and rude counter person made it not worth it. It always takes so long to get in and out. Costco is so much faster. I've been a customer of LensCrafters, in Del Monte Center, for years. They always did a good job, their prices seemed reasonable, and I recommended them to other people. I don't know what happened, but they're not the business they used to be. Their good customer service seems to have been swapped out for ineptitude and indifference. I went in there to get sunglasses I saw earlier. Really slow service. I waited for the employee to finish with the customers she had but she kept on taking in others as I waited. She told me she'd get back to me. I explained that I have waited for a while but she insisted that she'd be done in a moment. Without being told, or noted on the receipt, I was sold a "restored" frame. I only learned this after I returned from Europe (5 days after the 30 day warranty) and asked that the defective hinge be replaced/repaired. The store manager said that the manufacturer was not liable because the frames were "not new but RESTORED." Last time I got my glasses from here, they got me to open this credit account, which I should never had done. I ended up having to pay more than I should have for glasses that weren't really worth it. But the worse thing is that when I had to go back to fix my glasses, they don't treat you well since that you are not a new customer, and are not bringing *new* business. Beware! Never going back! Brought my glasses in for a simple repair of replacing a screw. Was treated rudely--when I asked how long it would be i was told "we'll call you." So I asked, "will it be hours, days, week?" and the answer was again, and with an exasperated tone, "We'll call you." Today, after a week, I called to see if it was still being repaired. Oh no, it has been waiting for me for almost a week. So I came in and waited behind another woman with the same issues: glasses brought in long ago for a screw replacement and they never called back. Sorry, can't repair her glasses because a hinge is torn off. She's very surprised, thought it was there and the screw was simply loose when she brought it in. My turn. Guess what?! The hinge is missing on mine also, AND I KNOW IT WAS NOT MISSING WHEN I BROUGHT IT IN!!!! So some employee is tearing off hinges and reporting them 'unfixable' and then not bothering to call the customer. BTW, this is the third time LensCrafters Monterey has failed to call me when my eyeglasses/contacts/repair was done. I'm done. I had made an appointment in advance and almost cancelled it after reading the reviews here. I'm glad I didn't. When I walked in, it was very busy. Every station was filled with customers being fitted with new glasses. I was greeted promptly and asked to fill out some paperwork. They were ready to take me back for the initial screening tests even before I was finished with the papers. Petra conducted the tests with friendly competence. Afterwards, Dr. Oebker examined my eyes and took great care to understand the issues issues I was having with my current prescription. He checked and double- checked to be sure the new prescription would meet my needs and offered suggestions about the size and presentation of new eyeglass lenses. Then I was offered a chance to select new frames. I easily found 2 stylish pairs for regular and sunglass lenses. Michelle and Petra spent a great deal of time helping me choose lenses and measuring where to put the bifocal line. To top it off, there was a smokin' deal on the lenses. Because of my prescriprion and lens choices, my glasses will need to be sent out. I am so excited to receive them! If I need to update this review upon receiving my new glasses, I certainly will. I am a local resident. I do not know anyone who works at this store. Went in on 5/10/13 and purchased a pair of Transitionals. Even with 40% off, the total was almost $ 400. The sales person seemed naturally agitated with life and could care less about how the frames fit and looked. She just wanted to make the sale and move on. She mentioned that there lab generator was down and the glasses may take a few days. I went back on 5/15 /just to check their status and was then the Lenses had to be special ordered and would not arrive until 5/22/13. This is a bit long for a place that claims one hour glasses. i do understand that employees can not control everything but she could have called to let me that there may a 14 day wait for my glasses. I returned and changed my order to lenses that were in stock and purchased those to then be called and told those are on order as well. I just went ahead and got a refund. The manager was great. Well, I then received a call from the original sales person who was belligerent claiming the lenses had arrived the same day i was told that they would not come until 5/22/13. She insisted that I come in an repurchase the pair in a rude manner. I say forget her! I will bring my Business elsewhere. I have purchased 3 pairs in 8 months. Thats a good customer. Lense crafters should do a better job of weeding out losers like her.She has no future in sales due to her bitter personality. read more
