Then the first time I ordered contacts I got a notification to review my contacts when I hadn't even been told they were ready so I called to verify and they said they weren't in, I stopped by about a week later as I found it odd they weren't in yet and was told by the manager that they were stuck overseas, then two days later got a call that if I didn't come get my contacts right away they were no longer willing to hold them for me. Second time I ordered contacts I decided to have them shipped to maybe avoid confusion, but then got a call that they were waiting for me in store, so I went in and then they proceeded to not be able to find the contacts, an employee and the manager confused looking around and yelling back and forth for about 10 minutes as I waited awkwardly. Then the last time I called to order contacts the manager took my call and when I asked for 6 months worth she proceeded to give me attitude saying last time I ordered contacts she'd explained to me to get a years worth and if I'd just done that instead of 6 months I wouldn't need to be calling again right now. Excuse me? I knew my insurance would re-up and cover more contacts in 6 months when I'd originally called - but I also should not feel like I need to explain that to someone, especially not a manager. Throughout all of this time, any experience in store has been incredibly unprofessional. Employees loudly having personal conversations across the store and ignoring patients. Consistently having difficulties verifying insurance and making it seem like it's the patient's fault. When an employee doesn't know something they just yell back and forth instead of pausing a personal conversation, getting up and coming over to help one another. Unsure if it's lack of training, but it is incredibly frustrating and I've officially given up and won't be returning.

I went through two pair of lenses before they retested and discovered that the original prescription was wrong. After making new lenses and placing the bifocal line direction in my line of site Dave the counter guy asked me what it was I wanted. First of all I wanted to be able to see with a pair of $600.00 glasses, the solution was to just make the glasses I needed a reader lens and I would be okay with out the distance correction. Well I now have a $600 pair of readers and there is no credits issued for the original prescriptions which were wrong because that's the way the eyeglass industry works. Called the owner in Anoka and she said that true, that's just what happens and that I'm a minority.... I wouldn't recommend Select Eye Care to an enemy, poor customer service, lack of professionalism and unskilled craftsman in this industry.

Excessive fees...this office charges extra fees for services are typically included by others. For…read moreexample, they recommend that you have your eyes dilated, but its an extra charge. They also recommend that you get the drops to reverse the dilation, but that is also an additional fee. If you are new to wearing contact lenses, you must take a $129 "class", to learn how to put them on and take them out, typically included elsewhere with exam and purchase of contacts. Mind you, you still need to pay for the actual contacts. To avoid that fee, I asked for her prescription to take elsewhere, and they wouldn't do it. I recommend when booking your appointment to ask about extra charges associated with your appointment.
