The eye doctors are great and some of the employees are as well, but we will be taking our business elsewhere, due to the rude manager. He is highly unprofessional and doesn't train the employees properly on store policies. You will get different information depending on who you talk to. It's very frustrating. read more

I ordered two pairs of glasses for distance. When they came in, they both were for reading. They had to send them back so I had to come back again. It seemed as if there was lack of experience.. On top of that, the customer service is lacking. Most of the staff hangs out in the back behind a darkened window--you can see them sitting around, talking and laughing, but not helping customers. It's frustrating to stand there waiting while they clearly see you and choose not to assist. Overall, not a good experience, and I won't be coming back. read more

My wife and I have purchased frames and lens here for years. When I had problems with my recent lens that cracked down the middle three different times, within 15 months, they stood behind and replaced the first two lens. When it happened again the third time, they said they couldn't keep replacing the lens and I would need to pay an additional $250.00 to have them made again. I had already paid $500.00 and now they want me to pay $250.00 more for a lens that only lasted 1 year and 3 months. Do yourself a favor and buy from anyone else, they may smile when they take your money, but they don't sell a quality product and they don't do what is right to correct a problem! I scheduled an appointment last week and when I called the day of the appointment regarding my appointment, the lady told me that they were booked solid that day and that name was not on the schedule. She says that she could see that I was scheduled when she looked it up, but couldn't see it on the schedule. She could not tell me why it wasn't. She went "to talk to her manager" and came back and told me that I had called to cancel my appointment yesterday. Okay sureeee. Then when I was frustrated she told me someone had cancelled and they could sneak me in right now if I was still on my way. What a load of bs. I was able to make an eye exam appointment yesterday for today at 9:50. The appointment only took about 30 minutes and I was assisted in picking out a lovely pair of glasses from Etnia Barcelona. I was shocked to learn my glasses would be ready in under 2 hours. I got a message an hour and a half later that my glasses were ready for pick up. Stopped in to pick them up, they had me try them on, and she immediately knew they needed to be tightened. After she tightened them, the fit was perfect and she assured me they looked great. Overall a wonderful experience at Pearle Vision- Maple Grove. I highly recommend them for any of your eyewear needs! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the Ophthalmologist was wonderful as well! read more

Extremely professional and very knowledgeable answering all of my questions and explaining everything to my understanding. I opted to pay the extra $35 for two extra scans of my peepers. It felt odd that the receptionist who took my insurance information performed the four tests before my actual appointment. But the machines did most of the work. I so hate that puff of air! Ashley helped me pick out a super cute pair of sunglasses. It only takes about 2 weeks for my progressive lenses to get done which is the new term for old folks bifocals. They have quite a selection! I've come in twice since the beginning of Covid. I've always been very impressed with the way that the staff handles themselves and the protocols put in place to ensure everyone's safety. They're selection of eyeglasses and sunglass frames is what always keeps me coming back, they do a great job of featuring new products and really finding the right frames that work for my face. I worked with Julia and she made the entire process quick and fun for me. My partner buys his contact lenses from this office and the owners have even made the special trip of delivering his contacts to our home when he forgets to pick them up. Wanted to update the prescription and replace the lenses in a pair of safely glasses, but they refused. They cited safely concerns. I don't understand. I would understand the refusal if the frames were standard frames, but they are actual safely glass frames. Just want to update the lenses. Shouldn't be an issue. I'm guessing it probably wouldn't be worth the time and effort just to replace lenses since they're not making money on the frames, but they probably just can't come out and say that. read more

I purchased a pair of $450 frames which I tried on and chose while wearing a mask at the store. After I received them and tried them on at home, I did not like the way they looked without the mask. I asked to exchange them as part of the 30 day satisfaction guarantee. I only found frames that were half the amount of the frames I purchased, so I asked if I could get 2 that total the amount of the frames I purchased if I paid full price for the 2nd set of lenses. I was told no, so my only choice is to keep a pair of glasses I don't like, or get a pair that I like better but lose out on a couple hundred dollars. Pretty disappointing considering I chose the glasses because I had to wear a mask, and now am essentially being penalized for following the rules and keeping my mask on. read more

A wedding day life saver!! Jim, Caitlyn and the team were outstanding. The day before the wedding the younger brother of the bride (and groomsman) broke his glasses. We had traveled over 1,000 miles for the wedding and had no back up, no contacts, no second pair...and he could not see. On a recommendation, we called. They said come in. Jim not only saved us. I was in about an hour ago and witnessed a very disturbing scene. I usually don't write reviews but I really feel I needed to in this case. There was a girl, I assume was an employee who left the store very distraught and upset. I'm not sure what took place before that it was how it was handled after the fact that concerned me. There is a pregnant employee that I have encountered multiple times at this location who seems to be on a power trip with the other employees there that I've witnessed more than once. Now I can only assume that she did something to make this girl upset while there were customers in the store which made me and others there very uncomfortable, not the time and place while customers are there. The gossip that happened after the fact with customers in the store was very u professional. I won't be coming back until that pregnant girl is on maternity leave or maybe I'll go to another location. I would give them zero stars if I could. read more

Best eyeglass retailer I have ever done business with and there have been many in my past... Superior customer service, huge selection, with a very friendly and knowledgeable staff. I have been with them for 18 years now and so have my kids. They know the latest styles, what will look best on you and take whatever time is necessary until you are satisfied with the product, fit and price! The thing that sets them apart for me is when I have an emergency, like sitting on my frames and bending them in half! Yikes... So, I go there and they get right on it, take whatever time and resources are necessary and I walk out of Pearle with my glasses fixed, adjusted and "never" a charge! :) These folks are awesome and you should check this place out... :-) read more

I have always gone to Pearle Vision in Maple Grove, MN but NO MORE. I ordered glasses and they said they would be in the store in August. Well August came and went as did September, October, November and part of December. They did let me use a pair that of brown ones. I hate brown but I figured that it wouldn't be for long. When I finally had enough and asked them "what are you going to do for me?". I did get a new pair of glasses but I'm not sure if they were the same price as the ones I paid for. I have been told that the Pearle Vision in Minnetonka is much better with choices and staff. I will try them next time but if it's the same I will go someplace else. There are lots of choices. I only worked with Ashtin, but the service was excellent. The service felt welcoming and personable, not like they were trying to push glasses off on me. The selection wasn't huge, but it was more than adequate and featured many big brands. There were several options for lenses with my strong + prescription, and it was appreciated that each option was well explained technically and in terms of benefits/costs. The one thing I will say, as having previously been a shopper at multiple competitors; I was a bit surprised at the cost. I got two pairs of glasses and didn't expect the total to climb up as high as it did, even with huge discounts and co-pay through insurance. So, in terms of price it seems to be more than competitors for similar product offerings. That being said, the service makes up for it and modern designer-esque styles are something that I was looking for after coming from cheaper glasses in the past. I have yet to receive mine but on the service alone I'd definitely recommend Pearle Vision in Maple Grove. Just bar in mind you are paying up for the service and quality. read more

I visited this Pearle location in July 2012 and was extremely well serviced. I was welcomed and helped immediately and directed to the boards featuring womens' eyewear. What a large selection! Also, I was not aware that Pearle Vision carries such a variety of well known and great brands. Prior I had trouble with my progressive lenses. Here, everything was explained to me and I was well measured and now have great glasses and can see into the distance, the computer and my knitting projects. I was promised a date for completing glasses and did not even hear a call back from this place when reading glasses will be ready and completed. I bought my first 2 pair of glasses at Pearl Vision MG, over $1,200 their special was 2nd pair free but it wasn't accurate the salesmen said the pairs I picked out were 2nd pair 1/2 price. Great customer service but after 2 1/2 months I needed lens replacements that cost another $250 because the lens coating was scratched I was wearing them constantly except when I went to sleep. I figured if I have to replace the lenses every 3 months the cost would be prohibitive. My daughter said go to Target and get a pair for everyday. I was able to buy a pair of the same prescription for $245 total, less than the replacement lenses at Pearl Vision! For a small fee I was able to buy a policy for replacement lenses so they would only cost me $35 to replace, it has been 4 months and these glasses don't need to be replaced!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are not nearly as fragile as the Pearl Vision ones that are sitting on my desk at home because I am afraid to wear them! Much to my chagrin I have learned you don't always get what you pay for! read more

Would of given zero star if yelp allow it. My wife went to get her first set of glasses from here and she was very excited due to all the good reviews. She told them that it was her first time getting glasses. The did all their tests, let her pick out a frame for the glass. They told her that they had to order the glass and it would take about a week. Got a text from them several days later saying that the glass have arrive and for her to pick it up. She went to pick up her glass and they said they order her the frame and she will have to wait another week for them to order her glass to go into the frame. They got her all excited and put her hopes down. Please reconsider before going here. read more

I called to schedule an appointment this week and was put on hold for more than 10 minutes (the woman over the phone probably forgot that I was on hold). I hung up and called again to schedule my appointment for 1 pm. On the day of my appointment, I arrived late at 1:08 pm due heavy construction on Elm Creek Blvd. When I arrived, they said that I could not be seen because the doctor was already seeing the next customer. They offered an appointment at 4 pm, which I could not do so I canceled my appointment. I have been a customer of Pearl Vision for more than a decade. I went in over a week ago to get glasses for my 2 yr old daughter (we specifically went here as insurance covers her glasses via medical reasons). Store Manager, Odessa was very helpful and got us all taken care of; was a pleasant experience. We then were told 7-10 business days for her glasses and that we would get a call. I had high hopes, unfortunately on day 7 I get a phone call but no voicemail. I called and the lady who answered had no idea why I was called and couldn't help me. Finally I received a call with a voicemail stating the glasses would be delayed by a couple weeks as the frames have to be ordered through the manufactuer. The next day I called back and the lady who answered wasn't sure who I talked to, said she was trying to find out as she only deals with contacts. I was put on hold and then hung up on. I called back only to be able to leave a voicemail. Unfortunately service here is not great storewide. I would almost rather pay just to have helpful and courteous. UPDATE: I did receive a call back from the manager specifically and she was very helpful; not only did she look into why there was a delay but got a more specific date for arrival of the glasses. I understand there are things out of the store's control when it comes to products, shipping, etc. but customer service should always be at it's best. The manager again, was very professional and assured me she would take care of previous customer service matters. I really appreciate and was VERY impressed she took the time to follow up and clear up any frustrations; because of her we will not be going elsewhere. read more

The help here is amazing. I always have a hard time picking out frames I like. Ashley is the best. She narrowed it down and then gave me pros and cons of the various glasses. Then when I went to pick them up they helped me understand how best to see with my first transition lenses. My sight is so much better than it was before my new glasses. I had an appointment tonight at 610. I had to go grocery shopping but thought if i could get in at pearle a little earlier i would go after the appointment. (Its the night before thanksgiving) I made it to Pearle at 520. On my way there I called and asked if I could get in for my eye appointment early. The lady on the phone (lacy? Lexi?) Said I could get in right away if I could get there in a few minutes. I was down the road so agreed. I walked in and told the lady at the front desk that I had just called about getting in early. She acted like she had no idea what I was talking about and rolled her eyes. She handed me some paperwork and told me to wait in the waiting area. She put me through the eye puffy thing and had me go sit back down. I proceeded to wait for 50 MORE MINUTES! they saw 6 other people before me. At 610 the doctor came out and called in another patient!!! I was so mad that they wasted all of my time like that I walked out. They could have just told me they could not get me in early and I would have done my shopping and came at 6. The employees are all rude there and completely ignore all of the people waiting. Nobody greets you when you walk in the front door and they act annoyed when you ask questions. I always feel like I am a burden there. They always try to charge you for things you don't need and their glasses are way over priced. I have been going here for years and lately have problems every time I go. I've received the best care at Pearle Vision that I've maybe ever had. I went in on Monday last week with a raging eye infection and they referred me right away to a specialist in the area and got me on antibiotics within hours. I had never been to this optometrist before but my boyfriend's mother said that they were hands down the best that their family had been to. Dr. Rowe had me come back in every morning throughout the week to monitor the infection while I waited for my appointment at the other doctor - which she went so far as to schedule for me. She had me come back in on Thursday to see one of her colleagues on her day off, and I have a sneaking suspicion that the only reason they aren't checking in on me over the weekend is that I am out of town. I was told exactly what to watch for over the weekend and what to do if it gets worse, and how to manage any pain or discomfort in the meantime. It was the first time in a long time that I haven't felt that I had to advocate strongly for myself as a patient. I should mention that the infection in my eye stemmed from another issue that started last spring, which I went to my former eye doctor (at a different provider) for three times, and was then advised that I just wait it out until fall. Suffice it to say that I won't be going back there, and they are the eye care provider that I've been going to my entire life. The doctors at Pearle are extremely proactive and care! (Shame on me for not getting a second opinion sooner...) I recommend this office very highly, they have taken really great care of me and made my discomfort enormously better. I have complete faith that the specialist that they've referred me to will be equally as helpful. read more

Although the staff at this location is great I have to write a negative review based on the owners policies. This is the first time I have been to get my eyes checked in quite some time. It turns out I need glasses. I looked around and found a pair that I liked. I was informed that they have a "buy one get one" promotion. When I picked out a second of close to same value, I was told that I could get $100 off each set of frames. I asked if this was really "buy one get one" and that I thought it was a bit of false advertising. I left with just my new prescription. I went to another Pearl Vision to see if it would be the same story. The second one I went to had a staff that seemed just as nice as Maple Grove's. The assistant at this other Pearl informed me that because they are franchises, each owner dictates how they run each promotion. This second Pearl Vision's owner honored a "True" "buy one get one". Long story short, I saved about $350.00 by going to another Pearl Vision. I think that if Maple Grove's Pearl Vision would honor the promos they way people perceive them, they would be an excellent business. Again, I received great customer service and this should no way reflect negatively on the staff at Maple Grove location. read more

It was my first time coming here for my exams and prescription. Dr. Ritzer is the best! She's kind and very lively, she makes your experience 10x better. I was sent to pick out glasses and was checked on as much as needed to. Even though, the day I went in, they were packed-- they still managed to get all their patients in. When I went back the next day to take my contacts class; the man who was in there with me was rushing and didn't necessarily help or tell me what to do, which made of fairly hard, but overall, I recommend this location! read more
