I called LensCrafters on Monday morning when they opened, and they said I could come in at 3! I was about half hour late because I parked on the wrong side of the mall and had to walk far, but they were happy to still take me and I didn't even have to wait long. Everyone was cheery and nice. The Dr was friendly and professional. I asked her questions about color contact options and she was nice enough to eye test me for those, too. I ordered 6 months of contacts and a box of colored ones just for fun. Came out to less than $150 with my insurance for appt and all the lenses, which is awesome. Very good prices. During these times of business shut downs and reduced working hours, it's good to know you can still get some optical work done at places like LensCrafters. I wanted to go to Costco and get some new glasses because they are cheaper, but their optical shop has been closed since mid-March. Since my lens was cracked, I figured I'd try LensCrafters again. Their hours are now 12 PM to 6 PM, Monday-Saturday. I was greeted very warmly by Susan, who helped me with my selection of frames. You receive a tray for the frames you don't want so they can properly sanitize them before they are returned to the racks. Nice! I chose a less costly frame (~$75) and proceeded to ask for my usual progressive bi-focal lenses, anti-glare tint, and photograde option. Susan was very accomodating and said there was a 40% discount on lenses. Nice! Be very careful, though, all my other requests still came up to another $348.01 AFTER the discount. Yikes. WIth the 40% discount applied I still ended up paying around $500. Well, at least I got my glasses pretty fast... I think Susan was one of the most friendly and accomodating people I have met here. She walked me through the process and like their advertising says, the glasses were done within an hour. "In these troubling times" I guess it's good to know they are reliable, albeit a little pricey. read more

I bought glasses in December 2021. After about 8 months the lenses started to have a rainbow effect on the inside of the lens which affected my sight. I called and spoke with Kyle who told me there was nothing they could do because I did not purchase the warranty. He said he could replace my glasses at 100% cost for another pair. It's obvious Lens Crafters does not stand behind their product. I've worn glasses for years and purchased many from different vendors. I have never had this problem before. My mother loves Lenscrafters because she can get her glasses while we have our lunch. No different this year. We went and her prescription had changed a bit so we looked for some glasses. There is a woman there who has very long hair (cannot remember her name), speaks Japanese and is so very helpful. She has helped us every time we have gone. She recommended so frames which were not so astronomically priced, and added all the paraphernalia my mother needs. She said it would be ready in an hour and suggested places for lunch. We opted for the Mai Tai Bar since it is closing (so sad) and had a pleasant lunch. Walked back and, voila!, the glasses were ready and were perfect. My husband's glasses broke on a Sunday night. He had to work the next day without them, or at least, with what he could do with them. Tuesday at 3p we were in to get his eye exam. He enjoyed his doctor visit. Their technology is so advanced!! On the floor, Heather, one of the management, assisted us and was very patient & professional. We picked out a great pair that was partially covered by insurance. Heather gave us options but was never pushy or overbearing. She was great. My husband loves his frames. 3pm we were in, 5pm glasses were in hand, and hubby was very happy. No 2-week wait for his glasses! Quality service. Terrible customer service. Their customer service was so distasteful that it made me reconsider doing business with them. I went into the store multiple times to try on frames to order with my new prescription, and not once did anyone greet me or say hello. I spend a good 20 minutes trying to find the perfect pair and no one bothered to help me. The last time I went in, I decided to finally sit down and buy a pair. I was directed to Cory, apprentice Optician- what a mistake. I don't know if he was in a bad mood that night, but he was completely rude throughout the entire order process. I've been ordering glasses since I was 16 and he spoke to me like I had no idea what glasses were and what insurance is for. He even made a comment about how I chose expensive frames and kept asking if I had insurance and money to cover it. I felt so belittled and judged. Before I get into this review, I would have originally gone to the Pearlridge Center LensCrafters since it's closer to my house but at the time they were closed due to the Corona situation. I made a previous review for that location for replacement nose pads but was forced to go to the next nearest one, which was Ala Moana. Now onto the review...... After trying to adjust my glasses on my way out of work several weeks ago, the nose pads got caught on my mask and I accidentally snapped them. This was the SECOND pair of (Carrera brand) frames that snapped on me and I said that was it!!!! Unfortunately my optometrist doesn't participate with my HMSA insurance plan so all my glasses & lenses are full out of pocket. So I finally decided to take my prescription to LensCrafters. After doing some online browsing I decided I wanted to go with Oakleys and picked out the frames I wanted to try on in person at the store. I called to check if they were open for replacement glasses and fortunately for me they were. Susan was the one who answered and she was extremely friendly and helpful over the phone. When I got there I walked in and the gentleman who helped me was Kyle. He was very helpful and friendly. He answered all of my questions very nicely and helped me pick out my new pair of glasses that only took about a week to come in. I'm also very glad they work with my insurance and didn't have to pay full price again. When the time comes to get another pair I'm going back to LensCrafters. WHO NEEDS THE GLASSES??? 3/5 Stars I don't understand how the workers here can't see customers? Maybe they all need glasses or something. Entering a store feels great when you are welcomed or at least get noticed at some point of your 30 minute stroll looking around. I would say that half the time I do get asked if I need help with something, but sometimes NONE. I come here 2 or 3 times a year to look for a new pair of glasses before I make up my mind. The only reason why I come here is because I love the selection of glasses & shades they have. They have generic brands to high end brands. I love the wide selection of nerdy to glamorous styles glasses. I always find several styles I want & have the hardest time choosing one or two. I also like Lens Crafters Ala Moana because they make glasses really quick & always tightens them for free when I bring my pair in. I can always drop it off & shop around the mall while I wait. Due to their lack of customer service they didn't get a 5 from me. I know they do have someone that normally takes down names or takes notes of the order of people coming in the store but they seem to miss me couple times. Hopefully they figure out how make sure they address every customer in the near future. read more

I'm convinced that all LensCrafters kind of suck in general. Don't get me wrong, the staff is friendly but we always have issues once our order is placed, this has happened at this location and at Pearlridge. We ordered glasses from Ala Moana on 11/5, we were told that we would get a text once the glasses arrive. She said 10 business days. Fast forward to 11/24, we're wondering where the glasses are. We call to check the status, glasses are ready for pick up. Turns out they've been ready since 11/9. We didn't receive a call or text (Yes, the number they have on file is correct) We had to contact them for the status. Do they not check what hasn't been picked up yet? Especially something that has been sitting there for over 2 weeks? They need a better process. Don't rely on them to call you when your order is ready. Once they have your money, they stop trying. read more

So I've had glasses my whole life and I've never had a problem with the lenses. I'd gone to this LensCrafters before and it was fine - I needed to get my prescription updated but I wanted to keep my frames, they gave all these disclaimers about how if the frames break it's cause it's junk and not their fault etc whatever. If i wanted the thin lenses for my prescription they had to MAIL it out and it would take a month - I can't be blind for a month! So whatever, I went with the regular lenses I always get. One month later the frames break clean in half - ok I guess it couldn't handle the stress. I buy new frames and pop the new lenses into those. Less than a year later, I notice things are blurry. I notice that there are lines like scratches in the coating, in circular motions, like where I've been wiping them. NOW - I use the spray and wet towels they push on you, I blow the dust off of them before I wipe, I've never had an issue with scratching, and so I take it back into lenscrafters and they say "OH - That happens, you should've bought the upgraded lenses". what. This has never happened to me, and I've had lenscrafters lenses before - it's obviously defective and you're telling me I should've went with the upgrade that would've taken a month?? You're not gonna do anything about it? Then he says "well you should've purchased the warranty". WOW. So you know the product sucks and your response is I should have paid MORE to YOU so that you could fix your defective product?? BS I'm never coming to any LensCrafters ever again, and I'm telling all my be-spectacled friends my horror story. The convenience of the mall is not worth the customer blaming! read more

I was having trouble popping in new lenses on my Oakley sunglasses at home so I decided to seek the professionals. I came in 30 minutes before closing. There were 2 people in front of me waiting for their glasses. I stood in the back, waited for a few minutes and it was my turn. The person took my Oakleys into the lab and I saw a lady working on them. It took about 5 minutes to get the new lenses in. The lady who brought them out explained why it took her so long and what she had to do. She also said "I wanted to make sure the lenses wouldn't get scratched." I'm so glad they were able to get the new lenses in. I really didn't want to spend $250.00 on a brand new pair since the frame was still in excellent condition. I think I got lucky with tonight's staff as everyone was really kind and helpful. I remember going last year in Novemeber to get my frames cleaned and my lenses got switched (left lens in the right, right lens in the left). Yes, it was real bad, I went back the next day and the guy had this look on his face like "are you serious?" Anyways, they swapped the lenses back and I could see again. But ever since that experience I've never visited them again until tonight when I really needed help. read more

Recently, while my son was visiting for spring break, we stopped in to LensCrafters because his 30 day contacts had surpassed 6 months (for reasons I neither understand or can imagine). Frankly, he was in dire need of glasses. I called my personal eye doctor in hopes of an immediate appointment with no luck. Thankfully, LensCrafters had an spot open (quite a few spots actually) available the very same day. Upon our arrival, we were greeted and asked to fill out the normal insurance paperwork. Luckily, they take HMSA so the process was relatively seamless. Once the eye exam was complete, we went on a frame hunt ..... Ever shopped with a 16 yr old??? NOT fun. But the selection was good (not great) and we were able to find a frame that suited his taste and my budget. After a slight hiccup or two, we were on our way out in about an hour (after the eye exam).. Keep in mind that they can only do certain frames and lens within this "one hour" time promise. Get a definitive answer before you elect to hang out for an hour or so, so as not to wasted your time. At times, they may have to send the Rx out to have them made elsewhere making your wait up to 10 days or so. Overall, a good option. I will be back. read more

Buying the frame for a new pair of glasses is the one thing I look forward to. Since I upgrade my frames every couple of years, I feel my mission to search for that perfect pair is second to none. Comfort, durability and style is among a few my frames must have. Thank goodness to LensCrafters. They've made searching for that special pair so easy. LensCrafters is located on the Diamondhead side of Ala Moana near Macy's on the 3rd floor. LensCrafters is a chain focusing on a variety of eye services from contact lenses, sunglasses, prescription wears and on-site eye exams. My main visit is only for the appliance. Ivy attentively serviced me for the entire duration of my search. LensCrafters is equipped with an eclectic selection of frames from kids to men and women's prescription glasses, sunglasses and designers. The selection included some expensive and affordable frames ranging an estimate from $50 to $400+. Mid-center of the store is dedicated to servicing and fitting. The lab is where frames with minor damages are repaired and or lenses and frames are assembled (not in stock lenses are sent out of the facilities for further work). Immediately adjacent to the lab is where appointments are held. The store was nicely divided into sections making choosing a lot easier. I loved the brightly lit space, clean with lots of mirrors. LensCrafters asked for my insurance card, prescription and an ID to complete all insurance checks. Ivy even offered to give a box with velvet felt to house all my selections. I must have been carefully searching for at least an hour. I was happy to choose a special frame. Ivy took her time educating me in what my insurance would pay to what I'll be paying out the door without any surprises. I liked that our relationship at the time of the service is strictly open and honest. She carefully educated me with additional options I might want to go with. I felt comfortable opting in or out of certain things without feeling uneasy. Dave, the manager and licensed optician assisted Ivy in fitting me the proper way. I felt my needs were attentively serviced and heard. The service was so speedy that my glasses were ready the following day. Their texting capability was super useful. Katy assisted me with my final fitting. Everything was thoroughly examined for my comfort and vision needs. She was immensely patient with me when I had to change my method of payment which took a while to process. Overall, I'm glad I choose to invest on a good pair of glasses through LensCrafters. I also signed up to their email subscription on deals with a possible pair of prescription sunglasses. I look forward to returning for another good service. Last night, I rushed over to this location in Ala Moana Center after getting a price quote from the optical department at Kaiser Honolulu. Upon entering the store, we were greeted promptly by Cory, who is an apprentice optician. I said hi and walked by in a rush to look at a wide range of high end designer eyeglass frames. With the help of my boyfriend, I was able to narrow down my choices to a beautiful pair of pale blue Tiffany frames. I was able to get Cory to assist me with placing the order. Cory is personable and efficient, he explained everything thoroughly so I understood exactly what my insurance covered. I told him there was no rush but he said they would be ready in two hours. So we went to have dinner at one of the nearby restaurants in Ho'okipa Terrace and sure enough, I got a text message in less than 2 hours that my glasses were ready to be picked up. The highlights of LensCrafters is they have a wide selection of frames, lens options (more about that later), and short wait time (unless you're ordering special lenses). Their return policy is amazing. You have 30 days to try out a pair and return if unhappy. I've returned as many as three different frames within a couple of weeks, and the staff was patient and accommodating. The only gripe I have for this place is that they try to sell you the most expensive lenses, off the bat. They don't provide you all your options, including the most cost effective option. It took three visits for me to finally learn that they have an economical, no frills options, which is much more cost effective than their glare reflective coated lenses. read more

I have specialty lenses and I was told that it would take 14 days to get new glasses, and I am supposed to move in less than 12 days!! My daughter accidentally sat on my glasses. They were totally bent of of shape, and one of the arms fell off! I had just bought these from lens Crafters a month ago. The frames were very reasonable and they looked great, so I was so sad. I went in today to attempt to buy a replacement frame and get the lenses remounted in them. But a very sweet helpful optician fixed them for me!! He would not accept payment, and cheerfully cleaned my lenses. The whole process took 10 mins max. I am so happy! read more

Customer service here is a hit or miss. It really depends on who is working at the time. I had glasses made here and the man who assisted me forgot to put blue IQ in my glasses. (He repeatedly told me that it was, but alas, it was not.) I only realized it was not included months later, when I went to a different Lenscrafters for a different reason and was told that, according to their computer record, blue IQ was not included in my glasses. When i arrived to my appointment I had a little trouble with insurance confusion. I was really Annoyed because the front staff was not so detail on what coverage was needed or what I needed to do but one staff member figured it out afterwards . I saw Dr. Lauren Mordue for my eye exam and she was very nice a detailed on what my eyes were like and what I could do to improve my vision issue I was having. I picked a frame and my prescription lenses were ready in less than 30mins. Dr. Lauren even came to check out my nice Tory Burch glasses I purchased.
