So glad I switched over to Dream Vision Eye Care! The only minor caveat is that they have you browse their glasses selection after dilating your eyes, which made it a bit difficult to choose properly. New Job= new insurance/new doctors. So happy that I found this place! I found out that VSP insurance is very good. Dr Poon and Maria are amazing! I usually dread picking out new glasses. I always feel sorry for whoever has to help me. It usually takes me 45-60 minutes. I tend to get the same style. I know what I like. I warned Maria that I take a long time to find one, but also showed her my two glasses that I currently wear. I was pleasantly surprised that she was able to bring me 8 -10 similar styles. I was shocked that I found one that I liked within 15 minutes. Maria is very good! Dr Poon found a retinal hole/tear on my eye. I am going to Pali Momi right now to laser repair it. Dream Vision Eye Care was where I went for my eye exams and glasses when I was attending the University of Hawai'i at Mānoa (2012 to 2015). I still use (today is Sunday 10 September 2023) one of the pairs of glasses I got here, the other pair broke earlier this year (in April 2023). For my appointments, I chose to walk to the office from where I was living at the time, on-campus, though I did observe nearby street parking for those who drove. For each of my exams my doctor was professional and friendly and picking out frames and lenses was straightforward. My health insurance covered one pair of glasses every 18 months and I got my first pair in 2013 (thicker plastic Ray Bans frame), which my insurance did a good job on covering. The second pair I got about November/December 2014, which was a couple months before my insurance would cover a second pair. I needed the glasses for a conference and went with the paying out-of-pocket option. Even out of pocket, the price was good (this second pair was metal/plastic Coach frame). Thinned lenses were available for my high prescription, though that did cost a little more. My first pair, the Ray Bans, lasted about a decade (2013 to April 2023) and I was very happy with. They ultimately snapped when my parents' dog ran into the side of my face when I was doing yard work one day. The second pair, the Coach frame glasses, are coming up on year nine in age and I continue to use. Went here to get and eye exam and fitted for contacts. It is kind of hidden across the street from the Wedding ring shop. I've been lucky and have found metered parking right in front on both occasions. The front entrance is locked but employees open it up right away. Very professional and helpful staff. They really take their time in helping each customer. I asked for prices for about 5 different frames and she wrote it all down and put it in my file. They were so patient with me and I really appreciated that. They also put in my new lenses into an old frame. Took about 20-25 minutes to change out. They even adjusted the frames to make them tighter for me. They really do care about their customers. I ended up getting a pair of frames with my eye insurance and they gave me an additional 20% off. So as I've mentioned in my initial review, I ended up at Dream Vision as I searched for a no nonsense professional clinic who will tend to my vision over the clinic's marketable image. That said, it's been a few years now that I've gone to Dream Vision and I am loving my visits as each one goes by. This go around I learned something new. Here is my story. The young man who helped me today went above and BEYOND to take care of my optometry needs! Brought in some frames I bought from Japan and asked if I can have them put in prescription lenses. He went back and verified with his colleague and said yes it can be done. Yay! I needed to use $300 in my FSA funds before the year is up so he calculated what it would cost with and without insurance. I opted not to use insurance so I can use the rest of my funds. I owed about $100 more in balance due, he asked me if I would like to pay the balance once my FSA funds renews in 2024, the answer is yes I would if I can! I didn't think this was possible so I didn't even ask but he extended the offer which was so thoughtful. Then he printed me an itemized receipt so I can submit to my FSA agency...that helped me out so much! Thanks braddah, you are really good at what you do! read more

The warranty on new eyeglass lenses is priceless. Yesterday, I had my lenses replaced as I discovered a scratch on one of the lenses.
