I'd been suffering from eye allergies and having some minor issues as well. The whole experience was a fantastic- everything from making your appointment to doing your new patient paperwork and submitting insurance cards can be done online right from your phone. My distance vision blurred, and while I was still "legally" able to drive (which was shocking!), it was nowhere near the sharpness I had grown used to. Glasses gave me better vision than ever, but they came with constant inconvenience: pain behind the ears, fogging, endless cleaning, and limitations on hiking or adventuring -- especially in the rain. I've been wearing contacts for 40 years and have a difficult prescription, and she's been very patient and professional. The staff however is not. Uilani, the assistant manager is awful. Every time I have to deal with her I end up screaming. She's a despot. Disrespectful and belligerent. She tries to boss custom around like we were her employees. I made an appointment online, which I called to confirm because their online system is terrible and they always screw up. Uilani confirmed my appointment only to cancel it less than an hour before the appointment. I was driving from Ko'olina and already halfway there. I had to rearrange my schedule and take the time to go only to get a call at the last minute. She didn't apologize and blamed it on the online system. I told her I called the store to confirm it, and she was the one who confirmed it. Instead of apologizing and try to make it up somehow, she acted annoyed and gave me an appointment three weeks out. I was furious because I was out of lenses and I wanted to use my HSA to buy them before the end of the year. She didn't care. The day of the appointment there was a wreck on the H1 and my wife was 10 minutes late for her appointment. We called while stuck I. Traffic and she just said sorry but you're going to have to reschedule. We reminded her that she's the one who rescheduled us after screwing up our appointments, but she didn't care. Every time my wife or my mother in law has to talk to her they end up angry and screaming. I was not the exception. After getting my trials fitted by Dr Toyota, I was supposed to wait at least one day before ordering my contacts to make sure they fit well and the power was ok while reading. After a few days I called to order the contacts and Uilani answered the phone. She started arguing that she couldn't order my lenses because I didn't gave my trial yet. I told her Dr. Toyota had ordered me a trial for toric lenses so I could use them while golfing, but the other lenses where supposed to be for everyday use and I needed to order them. I could hardly get a word in as she kept interrupting me and talking over me, I raised my bounce and told her to order the lenses and she got upset and told me I was being rude. I told her that my experience dealing with her had been awful and I was tired of arguing with her and to just order my lenses, and she said I could order my lenses from somewhere else and hung up the phone. Of course I need my prescription, so I called back but she wouldn't answer. I spoke to a different person in the store side who took my info. I asked when they would send my prescription and I could hear her talking in the background saying whenever I have the time... so I told the guy I was on my way to get it in person. I drove from Ko'olins to Kaneohe to get my prescription so I could get them ordered this year. When I got there Dr Toyota gave me my prescription and was very apologetic. I let her know that finding a new doctor is something I don't like to do, and I tried to avoid it at all costs, but because of her assistant manager, I will be looking for another doctor, as well as my wife and mother in law. She lost thousands in business and three patients, all because of a person that has no business being in customer service. Save yourself the agony. Go somewhere else. As great as Dr Toyota is, I just cannot take her staff anymore. I ordered my contacts from 1800 contacts and they'll be here tomorrow... no drama, super fast, cheaper... and best of all... I don't have to deal with Uilani.
