This location is described as being in the Citadel Mall but it's not in a mall. It's next to a nail salon. Just stating this to be sure I give a review to the right place. 975 Savannah hwy. While this place has a extremely good selection of beautiful designer glasses, both my husband and I were AMAZED by the 3 people working there. I felt like I had entered someone's home and should've called first. They literally do not get up out of their chairs to greet you, or, while I walked around for 45 minutes, come over and ask if you need any help. They are hilarious. They just sit there. When I approached the 3 of them, the snarky guy said something I couldn't understand. I asked him to repeat it and I still couldn't understand but the ladies laughed. These 3 got a cushy job, they just sit there and do nothing. When I did ask for a quote, the guy told the woman to do it and she came up with a figure that was over $200 from what I found on a Lenscrafter site when I got home. She breezed through the explanation of the lens, I didn't get any of it she went so fast. Then she told me to take a photo of it of course so she wouldn't have to write anything down. They are really milking it. They could care less about you. What a funny experience. You definitely can find a better place than this! read more

Let me be clear - I found the people here to be nice and professional, so no problems there. The issue is the absolutely insane charges they hit you with after an eye exam! I saw things on my bill I've never even heard of, and I've had eyes my entire life. Then, after the shock wears off and you go to pay, you're informed of a 3.5% "service charge" to use your credit card because, you know, everyone carries a few hundred with them in cash just in case they decide to have their eyes examined. Place is huge, looked clean and, once again, the people were nice. I haven't been nickel and dimed while bent over in a back room this hard since the last time I was in Vegas (boy, I spent a year there that night). Get your prescription elsewhere and get your glasses here. No exam! You'll thank me later. read more

Some older lady with short hair yelled at me about my service dog, arguing, and stating we needed proof of the dog being a service animal, which is inaccurate, unlawful, and discriminatory. It's also just plainly wrong; she clearly has little familiarity with disability law but feels a deep need to enforce her own rules. Nobody offered to help once, just sat on their butts in the middle of the store. Bad service from seemingly bad people. Didn't say hi or hello or welcome, just shoving of inaccurate information, and then nothing. The store is organized very poorly with no clear gender or size breakdown and their lack of help made it unpleasant to shop there. read more

On vacation at Folly Beach and I dropped my prescription sunglasses. One of the lenses popped out and the frame became bent. No way I could fix it myself so I searched for the nearest LensCrafters and found this location on Savannah Hwy. I couldn't have been more pleased when they were able to fix my sunglasses on the spot. Vanessa was awesome! She had to reshape my frames so that the lens would stay in. Then she tightened all the screws and cleaned both lenses. It was like having a brand new pair of shades! I highly recommend LensCrafters and especially this location! read more

They were very nice and kind. I have no complaints! And getting eyeglasses was better! I've typically had okay experiences here. It really depends on the associate you get. But I went in recently and asked them to tighten my glasses, I have had this done for many glasses, many times, ended up with them creating crazing in my lense. I have had glasses over 22 years, have never had this issue before. I did not need new lenses before coming in but needed them after due to the crazing. I was told they would give me half off new lenses for their mistake which unfortunately is still over $200. Just very frustrating. I will not be paying them $200 for a mistake they made. read more

My wife and I came in to look around for glasses for her. We weren't sure if she was able to get glasses today so I asked the representative a few simple questions. I'm not sure if we asked her too many questions however, she was rude and a bit snobbish. I simply asked how long does prescriptions usually take because her doctors office stated it would take 12-15 days. She replied back with the the same answer she had for all of our questions, "I'm not sure you would have to bring in your prescription." After we proceeded to look at glasses just to find the right fit, she started talking our heads off about literally bs! Then concluded by saying glasses could take up to 10 days. My wife was carrying her telfar bag in which she suspected she was going to steal. She only started blabbering to us just to watch our moves. She insisted to come back on a different day with the prescription, every time she tried on a different pair. I literally told her to stop talking to us because I've worked in retail and I knew exactly what she was doing! read more

LensCrafters is really lacking in customer service. I was told that the problem is cutting back hours of employees, not paying any benefits and new hires have no optical experience. Sadly, I used to really like this store. But going in and waiting for a half hour only to have an optician come over from the eye exam store next door was awkward. No manager around. Everyone was waiting a very long time to be helped. I will go to Costco for glasses next time. read more

Let me start by saying the Optometrist was great. The store experience was NOT. I was told a basic exam was $59, which was why I chose to get my exam at Lenscrafters and not Costco or Pearl Vision, where they charge $70. So I was rather surprised when I checked out after my exam and was told my bill was $90. When I asked why it was $90 and not $59, the woman laughed. I paid, took my prescription home and started to order at an online eyewear company. The online forms require a PD (pupil distance) number. Nowhere on my prescription was there a PD number. So, I called the store to get my PD number and was told they don't give out PD numbers because the store measures that when you buy your glasses at LENSCRAFTERS. Now, If I needed a PD number to order online (which they vigorously discourage you from doing) , I had to come back to the store and pay them an extra $20. So, I guess they really don't want you buying glasses online. I guess the business model is to get you in the store for your exam, raise the cost of the exam from basic to something else without informing you, and then make sure you don't leave without paying premium prices for their Lenscrafter designer frames. Frames that are twice as expensive anywhere else. Lesson learned. Go to Costco ($70) or even Sams Club ($55) for your exam. It's cheaper and they don't force you to buy frames from them. They also include PD in your prescription without charging you extra money. read more

The most horrible customer service ever. Not only was I not acknowledged for the 20+ minutes standing in the store waiting for service, (which I normally would not do but had a wedding to attend that evening and was having issues with my contacts), I was sent next door to stand and wait without being acknowledged for another 30 minutes. A young lady walked over, while helping a different customer, asked if I was being helped, to which I replied no. Then and only then was i told that the doc (who happened to walk past me 10 minutes prior without saying a word!) and whomever was out to lunch but would be back at 2 (30 minutes later). I was not told this before being sent next door why? It takes quite a bit for me to become upset, I have a lot of patience, needless to say after wasting an hour of my time being ignored I walked away praying that I would not take my frustrations out on any innocent bystander! I will from here on out stick with Walmart!!! read more

Very disheartening experience. The gentleman at the front desk of the optometrist office was professional, yet cold and totally detached. And the optometrist does not seem any warmer. We quickly decided to go somewhere else.
