I had an appointment booked with the Mount Pleasant office, was contacted to confirm the appointment on the Friday before in the evening. was currently at work and unable to answer however, I did confirm through the website and took a screenshot of the confirmation. I notified by text this weekend that my appointment may be given away due to not confirming. I called first thing on Monday morning to let the front office know that I did confirm and had a proof of the confirmation. The front office worker was absolutely no help and very unapologetic. she just said this was a problem from their end and gave my appointment away. No effort at all to make anything right that had nothing to do with me as a patient. I have been seeing Dr Majors and his associates for almost three years. I have since brought two of my daughters here and we all love them. They are very professional and attentive. I have seen him for glasses and contact prescription and fittings. He also is an expert in LASIK and other corrective options. Even though I had been to see Dr Salvatore a couple of times and had been nothing but pleased with my experience I was a little apprehensive after reading the poor review. I've been going to Dr. Majors for....I don't know....at least 8 years now. I have astigmatisms in both eyes and I'm practically blind. So I'm there about twice a year for my eye exams and my contact hook-ups. And they make it pretty painless. I'm usually in and out with minimal wait time and everyone is super friendly. It seems my eyes are always changing so there are sometimes where he'll send me home with a new trial pair and they end up not working out and we end up having to try one or two other types of contacts, but we always get there! read more

Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else for eye care! Each time I visited, I waited almost an hour before I was seen by the doctor. The front office staff also took forever to even acknowledge me. They started gossiping at the check in desk which I thought was completely unprofessional. Months after these visits, I received a notice about a debt that was bogus. I have been going to Long Point Eye Center and Dr. Majors for 10 years. The office is clean, well-decorated, and relaxing; and the technical equipment is top-notch. The staff has always been very friendly, and Dr. Majors and his optician, Tina Harbit, are both excellent in their fields. Dr. Majors has a gift of not only determining proper vision correction, but also of diagnosing disease through the eye exam. It was he who sent me for a blood test that determined I have an auto-immune disorder and got me on the road to managing that, all because of an eye exam. I have receipts totaling $490 where two of my family members purchased glasses. My card was charged $590. When I called to question it, I was told the employee ordered the wrong lens and there was a $100 difference in price. I was told they had signed receipts showing this change, but they have not produced them as requested. I have received the run around and feel I have been lied to. Today, a receipt was emailed to me from an office in Washington DC for $100 when I went to the Mt. Pleasant office. There was also a different office number and employee number than what was on the first two receipts I left the office with that day. The office manager told me corporate would refund my money, but corporate said today they will not because they have the "receipts", which do not match mine. read more

Over a month ago I ordered glasses from Long Point Eye Dr. I chose to use my current frames instead of getting new frames. At the time I handed over my glasses to be sent off I was required to pay for the work that was being done. Understandable. I was told it'd be about 2 weeks before they came back in. A few days before they were due I called to see if maybe they came in early. It was at that call I learned that my frames has broken in the lab! They were waiting for a new frame to be delivered to the lab. Why didn't I get a phone call telling me it would be longer? I gave it another week and called back to check on things, I was told there was a delay and I'd get them at the end of the first week in January. Well, that week came and went. I called on that Friday asking if my glasses were in, I was told I'd have to be called back. I never got a return phone call. So, today I call to check in on that phone call. I was put on long holds twice. When I finally got to talk to someone I was told they would have to call me back, again! I just want answers to questions no one can seem to answer. I came here for a last minute "squeeze in" appointment today, with minor swelling and stye symptoms, hoping to see a doctor and get a diagnosis and prescription. When I arrived, the woman at the front desk and the MA who took me to my room and did my intake were both very friendly and quick to get me started, which I appreciated. Being that I was the only patient in the office and they were due to close in an hour on a Friday, I figured they were in a hurry to get me seen and out of there. I sat in the exam room for 45 minutes. It was like the doctor either A) completely forgot I was there or B) chose to make me wait because I was a walk-in. When I looked at the clock and saw that I had been sitting patiently for 45 minutes listening to the employees unpack boxes, joke around and do whatever it is they were doing outside my room, I decided to walk out to at least see why I had been waiting so long. Still no sight of a doctor. I said "I guess I'm just going to go if I'm not going to be seen and I'm not being taken seriously." I was creeping up on being there an hour. And for what? I have never had this kind of experience at a doctors office and I was appalled by the lack of urgency. There was absolutely no reason for it. I would have gone to an urgent care office where there were actual patients being seen and a reason for such a wait had I known this was what I was walking into. Never again. read more
