Dr. Solomon was my family eye Dr when I was young, and now that I am old I still trust him with my eyes. I was looking into Lasik, and was treated with tender care from start to finish. I showed up having pre-registered online, but we found it easier for her to just copy my cards the old-fashioned way. Kacie is an all-knowing, troubleshooting peach. Checked in and had all my eye measurements taken by a lovely lady who enjoys Chick-fil-A, tell her I went to Mozzo and ordered too much! Anyway, Dr. Schaeffer then came to discuss options, measure again, and put some trial contacts in my eyes to see what I would see. She was kind, honest, and obviously knew what she was doing. I talked to a delightful redheaded lady in financing and she told me everything. I had good options so left with my head buzzing, able to see around me without glasses for the first time in years. I was so excited. I came back after a few days to bad news. Lasik is not an option. I have to wait to get cataracts and then get new lenses during that surgery. But Dr Schaeffer gave me a glasses prescription and contacts prescription and everyone was just so kind. I was a bit heartbroken. But they're now my new optometrist. Everything comes around. Also, there is a bowl full of shades at the front desk if you get dilated. I didn't. read more

Perhaps the eye care part is fine but not the cosmetic side. I spent $3,500 for a check fill which was extremely high and 3 times more than I have ever paid before - but was guaranteed long term results. When I called back to discuss the procedure I found out that the doctor I used had left. Therefore, I left a message for the new person to call me - and no response. I called back 4 more times - talked to the person answering the phones who assured me that she would hand deliver message. Still no response. I wrote the owner, John Boathouse. No response. So just know - this is how this business handles customers from the top down. They don't care. So now I go to Germain Dermatology- they are very reasonable and have much better customer service. I gave them one star because those that answered the phones were so sympathetic and nice. read more

This businesses not care about its patients! I went to Dr Knowlton for an eye exam; not only was I given too much drops that dialated my pupils for 10 hours; Dr Knowlton gave me a prescription that wasn't right for my eyes! I was charged an 88.00 copay before I saw him and I wasn't even given dark glasses before I left and I almost got into a bad car accident on 17 when I left. My advice is to stay away from this business; they not only do shoddy work they're all about taking your money and there is no customer service or care! read more

I had an appointment with Dr. Howard and I was impressed with him. He was very friendly, explained what was going on and what my options were. He didn't pressure me into making a decision one way or the other. I opt to have the procedure done while I was there in his office. He was very professional and informed me what was going to happen each step of the way. He made sure I was doing ok through the process. When I was placed in the room, he came in shortly afterwards. When I opt to have the procedure done that day, he and his assistance got everything ready as if I was the only patient there. I didn't have to sit and wait for Dr. Howard to return to my room to do the procedure. Great customer service too! read more

I originally began going to Carolina Eye Care on Longpoint Rd in Mt Pleasant SC when it was Belle Hall Eyecare. During the time it was Belle Hall Eyecare I got A Plus professional treatment and service. Since it was bought out by Carolina Eyecare the customer service has hit rock bottom. I have been trying to get new contacts for the last 3 months. I first got no call backs after leaving multiple messages. When I did get someone it was a call center like situation and I ordered my contacts , but never got any confirmation. I called back again to see if my contacts had been ordered. They had not ordered my contacts. This time I was assured my contacts would be ordered and they would call me when they were ready for pick up, which they said would be 3 to 5 days. Carolina Eyecare also charged my card that day which was May 1, 2023. As of today 5/16/2023 still no contacts and not one word from Carolina Eycare. I called Carolina Eyecare this morning and was routed to the call center who transferred me to the Longpoint Rd office. Of course no one answered at the Longpoint office and I had to leave a voicemail. I am highly doubting I will get a return a call. I will go by the office and hope my contacts are there. Once I do get these contacts this will be the last purchase or visit I will make to Carolina Eyecare. Strongly do not recommend this company. read more

This review is about Dr Howard. This was one of the most disappointing doctor experiences I've ever had. The assistant was supposed to do a basic eye exam beforehand but the light wasn't working. The meeting with Dr Howard lasted maybe two minutes. He seemed very arrogant I could tell from the second he walked in he had already determined he wasn't going to waste his time. I got more information about my condition and how to treat it from the Dr at Target Optical. The lady up front was very nice. I would recommend trying a different Dr if you must go to this place. read more

I was going to wait until all of my office visits were complete before leaving a review, but I wanted to ensure that the staff got a great review before I went under. I'll update it later when my procedure is finished. I wanted to give a five star review to Clarissa, who helped with my consultation prep-work. It wasn't just that she knew what she was doing, but she was friendly, and had amazing bed-side manners. Knowing that you're being consulted for a procedure that pertains to your eye balls can be a little daunting, but she was calming and conversational, which allowed me to chill out and enjoy the ride. After my time with her I was introduced to Dr Hood, who reviewed my paperwork and approved me as a good candidate for the procedure. He then introduced me to Catie in the finance office. She walked me through the costs associated with my procedure, the various dates that will be involved, and times that we could set things up for the future. Very friendly and a great way to wrap up my visit with the office visit on this particular day. read more

She is so knowledgeable, will not try to talk you into anything you don't need, and most importantly to me, she keeps you looking natural! Terrible facility. They misdiagnosed, or failed to diagnose a simplcondition at all, which was an obvious PVD after several visits which I was charged hundreds of dollars for a simple exam each time. They had no diagnosis, prognosis or treatment to offer, yet this process continued for months. I cancelled my following appointment, and went to another office and in two minutes they correctly diagnosed and identified the PVD. Furthermore, I paid cash on each visit and yet somehow these fools continue to send me a bill, for what I do not know or care. read more

I just have to say this place was amazing! I was looking to have tear trough injections, and I had already been to several plastic surgeons around the area. I had one plastic surgeon that was simply not comfortable doing the procedure, I am aware that it is basically doing surgery with a needle and is not an easy filler to do. I went to a dermatologist in the area that is fairly popular in Mount Pleasant and the people there were quite rude/condescending and seemed to try to sell me on everything they could, and part of that involved telling me flaws about myself that a.) I didn't ask for and b.) quite honestly didn't even exist imo. In fact they didn't want to do what I wanted unless I did more filler in other areas and when I decided that I needed to think about it since we couldn't do the procedure I wanted that day, they tried to charge me 75$ for the talk lol. So I decided that this would be my last time trying to get this done here in Charleston. I decided if this didn't work out (which I very much expected it would not) that I would have it done in Florida when I visited. I went into Carolina physicians Eyecare and I have to start by saying the woman at the front desk was very friendly and sweet which was such a nice change from most dr offices where everyone especially the women at the front desk seem to be having the worst day of their lives every single time I come in lol. I was then taken back by a very quiet but nice man, I believe he was a nurse and shortly after he took me back Dr. Malissa Sandhu came in. She was the best! I am extremely impressed. She listened, and we had a nice chat. I appreciate hearing a doctors recommendation especially when it is their area of expertise. She let me know when I expressed an interest in certain areas and wanted to know what options we had. There was no sales pitch with her. She was very easy to talk to, very friendly and instead of using the old tactic of tearing a woman down so she will buy more, I actually felt much better about things before we even started. I felt more positive about the experience and about my problems. She had a great bedside manner, and then ultimately she did an amazing job! She is extremely skilled and talented. I am beyond satisfied with the work she did, she was conservative to not make me look plastic or botched in anyway, but just enough to make me look more awake and fix my issue beautifully. Actually the female nurse who came in before was also very nice and personable as well as the billing woman who checked in and the woman that I eventually checked out with when I was finished. They were all exceptionally friendly. I'll be honest I usually have had pretty poor customer service in charleston from food to doctors and everything in between. This was an amazing experience and I left feeling so positive and happy with my entire experience here. I can not recommend Carolina Eyecare physicians enough and in particular Dr. Malissa Sandhu. If you are looking to have anything done to or around your eyes (cosmetic or eye health problems)or even some injectables, laser etc. I can't recommend them enough. This is where I will be coming from now on to have anything I want/need in the future and I am so glad I can come here instead of going all the way to Florida.
