Walked in yesterday to purchase some glasses and wasn't even greeted by staff. Had to literally walk up and ask for help, keep in mind there is no other customers in the store at this time. I wasn't even given a tray to hold glasses I was literally carrying them all in my hand. She was so rude she even stepped away from me while I was trying the glasses on when she should be helping me pick the best ones, only to return to tapping her fingers on desk and drawing flowers on her sticky note pad. I also did hear her ask her co worker if her brothers glasses were ready, like really! I've purchased hundreds of dollars from this store only to feel rejected and unwanted. In August we were on vacation in Colorado and spent the night in Bloomfield. The next morning, I managed to sit on my glasses! I can't read without them and (1000 miles from home in Texas) felt desperate. I was expecting a larger selection of frames at this Lens Crafters since it was located at FlatIrons mall. I was very disappointed with not only that the selection was smaller, but the customer service provided to me. Very pushy sales person. She was trying to up sell their frames, trying to get me to buy two pairs of glasses when I only wanted one pair. I didn't feel she was honest when trying to help me find a pair of frames that I liked. Will avoid this Lens Crafters in the future. read more

We ventured into this particular Lenscrafters because we had other business in Flatirons. Thier greeting could have been a little quicker because they werenot busy. But after someone tookthe initiative to help us things got better. But only jokingly asked if someone would like to assist us. We unfortunately dudnt fully remember our vision insurance carrier and they not happily tried to help uswith that. I called our help center and we both found the info at tge same time. Our associate was pretty good at explaining my wifes need for progressive lenses but her demeaner could have been a little friendlier and maybe not so uptight, but we got done what needed to be done I have learned that if you really want quality that Lenscrafters us tge place to go. Although they are more expensive than most places you have a greater sekection and they carry high end frames. Well someone must have read the previous review because every time I walk in, I'm given a resounding greeting. The folks at the glasses department seem really nice. But, this review is for the optometry department. First, if you haven't had a digital eye exam, they're great. If you have any kind of astigmatism or weird prescription, you really need one. The whole exam only took a few minutes and the prescription is the best I've had. But, more importantly, I wasn't thrilled with the existing contacts I had been wearing so Dr. Alice Albert gave me several samples to try and come back again after I had a chance to try them. Oh.......glasses? The time has come to embrace the effects of aging and accept them rather than run. Lens Crafters helped me out with this a little bit by accepting that my eyes needed some attention, and it's not quite as shameful of a process as I'd once expected it would be. After bouncing around to several stores, Lens Crafters seemed to have the right stuff that I was looking for and more reasonable prices than any of the other stores in the mall for the quality options presented. The staff was very helpful and even more patient with me than I probably would've been with me. They helped me pick out exactly what I wanted. Of course what I wanted was a set of awesome Burberry frames that I didn't want to shell out the cash for, so the lady helped me compare many similar ones to what I'd picked out. I did end up going with the Burberry ones though. There's something to be said about a quality product. At the time, I did not have the insurance / discount program information available to take the sting off of the bite of the cost. When I did have the information though, I went back a couple of weeks later, and Gail, the general manager, was happy to help me get the proper discount applied and refunded back to my bank account. She also spent about 20 minutes helping me to adjust my frames to make sure that I walked out with EXACTLY the fit that I wanted and needed to have. Thanks Gail; you're awesome. Eventhough Colorado does not recognize that you were a licensed optometrist in another state, you're still kickass, and I'll be heading back there again just because of the great help you give. read more

So I said that I would never go back to Lenscrafters because as part of the Luxottica monopoly, I always feel like I am getting raped when I leave there. HOWEVER, I recently purchased prescription sunglasses and most of the raping occurred with my insurance company, not me. Actually, I got a great deal through my insurance. The staff is super cool and friendly. I recommend this place IF YOU HAVE INSURANCE. This location has better styles than most others. If you do not have insurance, I would go to this location to find a style that you like, purchase them online, and get the lenses from Costco, which is SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper. read more

I recently made an appointment to check out glasses at our neighborhood LensCrafters at the Flatirons Crossing Mall. Walking in we were greeted by two associates and I was feeling good right of the bat! Spent time filling my little "to be considered tray" of glasses and received knowledgable and honest feedback on different shapes and brands and styles. I was giddy with a brand new arrival from Tiffany & Co and really thought that was the winner. After talking about bold vs classic and modern vs traditional and what I do for a living, type of lens I would have and soooo much more- my tray was full and we headed to the consultation desk. Front and side views of photos were taken and compared side-by-side and we began to eliminate the glasses that weren't the perfect style for me. It was a GREAT experience!! And I have never had this much time and care given to what is ultimately a big and important investment. The finalist were Versace and Burberry and Burberry won! I can't wait to pick these babies up in about 7 days and be able to see while driving home! A long time ago (1997) in a far-away place (Fort Collins), I got an ulcer in my eye from getting a piece of that glitter eyegel stuff stuck in between my contact and my eye. My doctor forbade me from wearing my contacts, and my 14-year-old self hated my glasses so much that I refused to go to school for three days. I kept that pair of glasses until they broke in 2005, and never ever wore them in front of anyone but family. And I never replaced them after they broke. Fast-forward to February, and my poor strained eyes really wanted a break when I got home. My eye insurance only covers the corporate places (Lenscrafters, Pearle, Target, Walmart, etc.) so despite loving my local eye place in FC, I made an appointment at this Lenscrafters. Dr. Smedley was quick, but thorough with my eye exam. He gave me a couple options for my contacts, and I left with an updated prescription and brand. The place was clean, well-organized and efficient, all of which I appreciate when I'm making an after-work appointment on Friday night. Tara (?), the girl who helped me pick out glasses, was really helpful in narrowing down the selection. I ended up with beautiful Burberry frames at a really good price. My only complaint was that I was quoted that they should be ready in 10 days - "We tell people 10 days, but it's usually less" - and mine ended up taking a full two weeks to come in. Maybe it's cause I'm totally blind and need super-thick lenses! But now I have awesome pretty glasses that actually look almost okay on me. I might, MIGHT even wear them out of the house. My fiance and I came in to replace our broken glasses and Thomas and his staff were eager to help and explained our warranty coverage on our glasses and we got new glasses in about an hour! Perfect. My boyfriend is a pilot and brought his new Ray Bans here for prescription lenses and the service has been FANTASTIC. I'm honestly surprised that this location only has such a low star rating. Last week we came in for the prescription lenses, and tinting. They did a fantastic job on the tinting. Today we came in because they were not sitting on his ears correctly. Sean helped us and he was great. We found him to be professional, knowledgeable and friendly. He adjusted the frames so they fit perfectly and ended up ordering us a set of mirrored lenses, that should be here in about 10 days. All the while he's able to continue using the first lenses while the new ones are being made so he'll have no down time. Great service and great product...thanks Shawn! read more

I recently purchased some glasses off the internet - glassesusa.com, DON'T DO IT! Because they did such a horrible job I went to Lens Crafters to see what they could do to help me. They tried to do what they could, the woman there, unfortunately I forgot here name, was exceptional! She did all she cold to see what she could do to help me salvage the glasses I paid $300 for, even though she didn't sell them to me! I am extremely grateful and I will be purchasing new glasses there instead of 'saving money' off the internet. read more

I'm just not impressed. I've been wearing glasses since I was 6, so about 50 years. I have seen the good the bad and the ugly. I wound up buying some Brooks Brothers frames. I did not really like them, but they had nothing else that I really wanted and I was sick of looking for something. They were "ok". Unfortunately the plastic sleeve that covers the wire that goes from the frame connection at the temple to back behind the ear kept sliding back about 1/4 of an inch when I took the glasses off my face. This annoyed the heck out of me and actually cut my face once. I had gone from indifferent on these glasses to really hating them. I took them back trying to get an exchange for something else as a part of their so-called guarantee. All they wanted to do was argue with me about getting these frames replaced. (So much for their guarantee that you will love them). The "manager" asked if she could just fix them for me. I was sick of arguing by that point and just said that would be fine if they would just stop the plastic sleeve sliding off the wire. She took them and then came back to crow at me that she had "fixed" them with super glue. The next day I took a good look at them and the only thing that she had done was cause the plastic ear pieces to haze and look milky for about half an inch where the super glue had ruined the inside finish of the plastic. Great. I still hate them and now they look like crap. The plastic still moves back and forth on the ear wires and I have to push them together at least once a day to keep it from scratching my face. I'm just not happy with these glasses and even less happy with them since they simply refused to replace glasses that were obviously defective. Pretty ridiculous for something that costs so much. Next time I am going back to CostCo. They don't have a good selection, but I have always been happy with the price (less than half), the service, and at least they don't try to BS me by fixing/ruining my glasses with super glue. read more

I had been a Lenscrafters customer for many years, and when I moved to Colorado I went to the Flatirons branch to purchase a new pair because I was sick of replacing nose pads. When I tried the frames on, they fit beautifully & felt nice & snug on my face. After I picked them up, they were much looser. When I commented about the change in fit I was told the it was because of the lenses and they couldn't be bothered warming the frames to refit because they would have to take the lenses out. Okaaaay. After a season of the glasses sliding down my nose every time I bent my head, I felt like I wasn't seeing properly. My eyes felt tired and unfocused, so I went to the optometrist in the Lenscrafters' location (who was lovely) to see if I needed a new prescription. After an eye exam, I was told my eyes had not changed at all, rather my lenses weren't properly aligned for my astigmatism. I had worn the glasses for well over a year - I figured that was probably a little too long to ask for a replacement (even though it was a technician's error) and since I wasn't happy with the fit of my frames and it would only cost $20 more to get a whole new pair than it would be to replace just the lenses, I opted to buy new glasses. Yay! I could see properly! 9 months later, I noticed little cracks appearing in the lenses right at the join of the frames, which didn't quite meet - and had been that way since I bought them. I took them in, & was told they were stress fractures. After explaining that the frames had been that way since I bought them, and that they were purchased to replace the mistake they had made with the previous pair, I was informed that since I did not purchase a protection plan there was nothing they could do for me. Wait a minute - why should I have purchased a plan to protect me from your mistakes? I thought protection plans were to guard against the things *I* might do to my glasses - drop them on the road, run over them in my car, leave them on the couch where my fat Aunt Bertha sits on them.... that sort of thing. I didn't realise I should buy a protection plan to make sure I can get a product I paid for just in case the professionals make mistakes in the installation & manufacture of my glasses. After calling customer service & explaining I got no joy at the store, I was referred back to the manager at the store, where, you guessed it, I got no joy. So I have 2 pairs of glasses that cost me $600 that I CANNOT WEAR. I am so unhappy with Lenscrafters & would not recommend them to anyone. I will now take my entire family's business somewhere else and spend over $750 a year anywhere but here. read more

Saw Dr. Watson for eye exam. Office agreed to refund for overcharging me, then changed their mind. Avoid them!!! Go to an independent doc or another Lenscrafters. I agreed to pay the bill and submit to insurance because I did not yet have cards. When I submitted, insurance indicated there was a discount for the services and I should be refunded over $50.. I have spent hours on the phone with Aetna and the office. Spoke to the office, referred me to billing. Billing wouldn't respond. After numerous phone calls and back and forth, was finally told I would receive a refund. Thought that was wonderful. Today, I received a call saying the owner overruled the refund. Awful customer service. Would never go back. read more

Lenscrafters itself, NOT the attached vision associates, is wonderful for getting glasses if you already have your prescription and vision insurance. Rusty is the most helpful associate I have run across in any business - she helped me pick out beautiful frames and tracked my order when I was cutting it close on getting them before heading out on vacation. Frames are expensive, but if your insurance covers them this is the place to go, fast, friendly and convenient! read more

All the employees here are so friendly and willing to help. I had three people giving me input on glasses where as the boulder location couldn't be bothered to even greet me. I've purchased glasses from here twice now within 2 years and both times were very positive and the employees were patient with my indecisiveness. I have horrible vision and have been wearing contacts for nearly fifteen years. During my initial appointment with Dr. Fall on June 3rd, she said my current prescription was too strong and changed my left eye from -9.5 to -7.5. Unfortunately, my eyes had not improved this much as I was unable to make out the brand of cars in front of me in traffic. I came back the following week and see Dr. Tyler who redid my contact prescription and found my base diameter to be different and a -9.0. He told me to come back a week later to check on the contacts and redo my glasses prescription from the initial visit. Everything went well at the visit on the 17th, but when I went to order my contacts online this past weekend, I realized the contact prescription was not recorded. It is now the 24th and even sitting in the office I cannot get a consistent answer about a corrected prescription. All three optometrists I interacted with at this location had problems getting the software to save prescriptions. In addition to this awful month long saga has been the awful front office staff. Dominique in general is the poorest employee. I cannot tell if it is a lack of training or just her inability to multitask/act professional/LISTEN, but I am extremely disappointed in this experience and will never return to this location. She is rude to people in person and over the phone. read more

Four good experiences. I had my exam for a prescription for glasses with Dr. Smedley, who was thorough and informative. Immediately afterward, I purchased my new glasses, and I received prompt, friendly, and thorough customer service. When I picked them up, I was helped right away, and my glasses were adjusted for a good fit. I was not sure I liked them at the fitting, but gave them a try for 3 weeks, then returned them under the 30 day unconditional guarantee. I was skeptical that it would be hassle-free, but it was a flawless experience, no questions asked, other than the reason for the return, and the offer of assistance in choosing a pair of glasses that would fit my needs. I've had both really positive experiences here, and one terrible experience. Usually the staff is wicked nice, super patient and able to assist me with whatever I need, however the time that got me skeptical to going back is once when I came in after taking the bus (so I had on a backpack) and I was looking for new frames to get as my prescription was outdated. Not even a minute I'm in the store testing out frames, looking in the mirror with them and all that, one of the female older employees says to me "don't think about stealing anything" I playfully said "wait what?" Thinking she must be joking or something, then she said again "you stick out like a sore thumb". I looked at her completely disgusted and promptly walked out. It has made me skeptical to go back to this location as I cannot believe that a very well-kept, clean, nicely dressed dude as myself was profiled so abruptly for simply wearing a backpack, especially because I've been going to Lens Crafters exclusively for glasses & eye appointments for the past 4 years. read more

I went here for my first exam a year ago. It was excellent customer service! So I decided to come back...BIG MISTAKE. First off I walked in for my appt and the techs, rather just "employees" glanced at me until the girl decided to welcome me and check me in for my appt. my appt went okay. Then came when I had to pick up my contacts. Chelsea the tech I remembered from last year was there and My family and I came back because of her customer service last year...well a lot can change in a year. I picked up my contacts then left when I realized my order was wrong I went back to try to explain and she would not let me explain. She automatically snapped and talked over me. Apparently my prescription had changed & a different order was set up for me. At my exam I was NOT told this. I also told the kid who finished my order at my exam I wanted the same order since my insurance stayed the same. I explained this to her, again she came off rude and said there would be different charges to change my order when it WAS NOT what I had even ordered. I must not be the first to complain because as I walked back in one of the sale associates said under their breath "how much you wanna bet they screwed up AGAIN." Def won't be coming back. My experience at this location was a joke. I bought some prescription sunglasses there, but when I got them in the mail a week later and tried them on at the Fort Collins location it didn't feel right at all. Turns out the prescription they put into the system was not even close to what it should have been. Okay I can forgive that but what really pissed me off at the broomfield location is that the associate didn't even mention the generic lens crafters lenses that are much cheaper than Ray Bans lenses but practically the same thing. He didn't walk through lenses at all and I almost paid for lenses that were over $150 more than the generic version until I asked him to set me up with the unknowingly mid tier Ray Bans. But I couldn't even get the Ray Bans because of my prescription but since he entered it wrong into the system they were still delivered. All in all I ended up exchanging them for more expensive frames but switching to the generic lens ended up giving me a refund from my original purchase.
