Since I purchased my glasses at pearl vision in Ferndale, they have been crooked on my face. Despite regular visits to them I just gave up going, since they were unable to adjust my glasses. Galper eye center is close to my work in Novi, so I stopped in to see if they could adjust my glasses. Bruce fixed my glasses in less than 5 minutes and didn't charge me a penny. I've had glasses my entire life and it truly is a skill to adjust frames to my liking. I won't need glasses for a while, but I think their service and kindness is deserving of a mention. When the time comes for new glasses or contacts, I will be sure to visit them.

I have a condition where my eyes are cone-shaped; because of that, Visionworks recommended me going to a specialist. If I constantly have to go to this place and the specialist, I probably will not go to this place, but we'll see. I thought the eye exam was thorough and well done. Our insurance covers $300 for frames so I ordered some new glasses, my current ones are probably five years old or older so I definitely need a new pair. I was already in the area so I arrived for my appointment a bit early. My husband arrived five or 10 minutes late one time and they turned him away so be aware that they are pretty punctual. My guess is because I think they just have the one doctor for eye exams. They had a nice selection of glasses as well, if you're looking to get new glasses. I would return to this location, but I will admit I missed my old ophthalmologist and the nice waiting room, etc.

Any time you wait to resolve billing issues after 6 months, it becomes very difficult to work with insurance companies and I'm sure they knew that... so they gave themselves 1 month to figure this out. Whatever they asked for (pre-authorization from my wife's PCP) we gave them but they still had an issue because apparently they didn't get what they needed. After I called to try and resolve this matter (and their mistake on extending this timeline so long), whoever I spoke to was super rude and condescending as if I was in the wrong.. "Well did you call back to make sure we received the referral?!" No I didn't, I don't work for you. If they had an issue, don't wait 5 months before saying something. I don't recommend anyone coming here. Super expensive anyways and they have horrible customer service... any other company would admit fault and write off the (less than) $200 fees they were trying to collect. Their doctors are fine, can't really say anything bad about the care. But then if you need contacts or glasses just be ready to pay $$$$ or go elsewhere anyways.

I found Americas Best online with an eye exam and 2 pair of glasses for $69. I was able to make an appointment for the same day. I found the people courteous, efficient and attentive. They checked my current glasses with my last prescription (at my request). The technician tested my eyes then I waited for the doctor, maybe 3 minutes. The doctor explained everything he was doing and the condition of my eyes in terms I could understand and was far more comprehensive than any other eye doctor I have seen. The selection of frames was extensive and it was easy to identify which frames qualified for the $69 package. The whole process was fast and thorough, only took about 30 minutes.
