This place has the most inconsiderate people working here. They are rude and extremely disrespectful. When you ask about insurance coverage and to be shown frames they will treat you like a second rate citizen. I've been to this location about 3 times. The first time I went here was to get a new set of glasses. I am really blind so when I get glasses I usually have to pick bigger frames because the lenses are thicker since my eyesight is bad. When I walked in I was greeted right away and they asked what I needed help with. One of the employees was able to help me right away. I wanted a pair of ray bands since I found that they have lighter frames that other brands and the lady was able to show me their selection. I showed her what I was looking for and she was able to find me the same kind of style of frame in other brands just in case those worked for me as well. Then she gave me time to pick out what I wanted. I appreciated her giving me space because sometimes when employees hover while I try on things it makes me anxious. So long story short I found a pair of frames that were light weight and comfortable so I can wear them during my 12 hour shifts. She was able to ring me up quickly and I was able to get the warrantee that covers damage of the glasses. The other two times I went in while I was running errands to get my frames adjusted and they happily do it for free and even clean the lenses for me. Both times I was greeted and helped quickly. I had a presciption for glasses and went to lenscrafters to have them make it. I believe it was tri-focal? Anyway I choose the frame and after I received the glasses it was wonderful!!! Except for seeing extra images in the light. I start noticing water spots on my lens on one side which will not come off using my cloth that came with the glasses. I would say like a month or so I had time to go to pearlridge lenscrafters to have them fix it. Guess what the guy there tells me. "Well you did not purchase the insurance, and now you have to pay $350 for another one. He was clueless to why the spots were there. He said maybe it's from the heat, but he couldn't give me a straight answer except tell me you need to buy new ones and would you like to order new ones??? Really, if he told me I had an option to purchase insurance then I'm more then sure that my son would of played for it!! And having those spots in front of my eyes is irritating to see. I've purchased many glasses from other places and never have I had this happen to me. I dont have any confidence in purchasing any glasses from them anymore!!! Called to get an exam and new glasses. They had an opening the next day. They said they have a special $349 for progressive lenses with antiglare. I see the DR. She was very pleasant. Went to pick glasses, found a pair of frames for about $100. The girl tried to up sale me on other options and I pass. She tells me the total is over $700. I said what happened to the special, I was pretty angry so I just left. read more

I swear if the sales people weren't so friendly, I wouldn't be so nice on my updated review. Maybe it's just me, but I've never has so much issues with my glasses. Of course I changes my frames in all from Ray bans to Burberry since it was defective when I purchased it. Had my Burberry frames adjust 2 times and the second go around felt much comfortable but I noticed I now have a crack in between the lenses after I drove off. I had an event which I was late for and didn't have time to go back that day. I just got it adjusted on Saturday and now have to go back yet again for the 10th time. Ugh oh not to mention I would expect more from lensecrafters being that I spent we'll over $700 for 1 pair of glasses ($300 out of pocket and $400 insurance) I normally pay average $260 without insurance. Went here for my first pair of prescription glasses. Love the huge selection of brands and styles (which made me take forever to choose the perfect pair for myself). Anyhow, one of their staff, Lauren was very friendly and helpful. She greeted me as soon as I walked in, gave me some time to look around for the styles that I like then checked up on me how I was doing and made some suggestions for similar styles on different brands. Pretty happy with the good customer service that I got from her. Lens crafters also does "digital fitting" in which they take a photo of you and take digital measurements for your frame, which was really cool. I was told you can get your prescription glasses within an hour if they have the stock for the lenses for your chosen frame but it I opted to have the original rayban lenses, which was cheaper than the lens crafters' brand (surprisingly) so I'd have to wait for 7-10 business days for my specs. Price-wise, it's very fair. They sell the same frame for just $10 more vs. Rayban online. Fortunately, my insurance covered a good amount so I didn't have to pay a fortune. read more

I ordered glasses and was helped every step of the way from getting my prescription to choosing the appropriate frame. Overpriced...Go to COSTCO Optical instead. Scheduled an exam online, supposedly with a "Dr. Lau." I researched him online & seemed like he was a good doc to trust with my eyes. When I got there, there was no Dr. Lau & instead was seen by Dr. Oroku. Meh, could care less for this guy, who was unapproachable, robotic and rehearsed......Just saying. But whatever, he gave me the prescription I needed for my glasses. Next step, getting the actual pair of glasses. So my name was put on the sign-in sheet. Only to find out about half and hour or so later, that it had been mysteriously crossed out??? Never heard my name called. Weird, I must be going DEAF AND BLIND @ the same time. Ok no biggie. A male worker volunteers to help me & he suggests I put the glasses I'm interested in purchasing in a bin. He offers to find some for me that he thinks I would like so he steps aside. About 20 seconds later I see him next to the display chatting it up with some of his coworkers. No interest in helping @ all. Don't waste your time here. Not sure how the other locations are, but this one is horrible. read more

If I could split this review, I would give the in-house optometrist four stars and the LensCrafters sales/service team zero stars. The optometrist was pleasant and thorough, though the exam is expensive without insurance (figure $200 for glasses and contacts exam). The LensCrafters team is quick to sell you and up-charge you on lenses. The frames and lens prices are exorbitant. Once they've sold you, don't expect anything after that. I was told that my glasses would be done before the 30th. I called on the 29th and someone took down my information, saying that they would call me back. I did not receive a callback after 24 hours. I went to the store on the 30th at 4:15PM and was told that my glasses would be ready within an hour. I returned at 6:00PM and was told my lenses were in, but my glasses haven't been worked on yet. I asked the sales rep to give me an exact time so I wouldn't waste anymore time waiting. After conferring with his manager, I was told that my glasses would be ready within an hour. I'm writing this review while waiting during the second update. At this point, it's irrelevant whether my glasses are ready or not. The service this LensCrafters branch provides is poor. The only reason I came here was because I needed a rush job due to losing my glasses at the beach. Next time, I'll order two pairs from Zenni Optical for less than one pair of glasses from these hacks. read more

Very helpful and accommodating. Much less intimidating and scary than the Ala Moana one IMO. The staff, for the most part, at the Pearlridge location are much more approachable and friendly. Although it can get crazy busy, the workers don't make you feel rushed. **Don't forget to sign in, especially if it's busy, or you'll be waiting forever and a day for help. I went in recently to have nose pads put in on two of my plastic frames and also for adjustments on those two. The wait was maybe 5-10 minutes until they called my name from the sign-in sheet, then another 15 minutes to have the nose pads installed. The adjustments quickly followed the nose pad installation. I was in and out. It was magic. And I was even thanked for the small wait I had to endure. I've also bought glasses here many times before. And although LensCrafters may be on the pricey side, it's important to remember that you're paying for speed. These guys are quick! And I presume that's why they charge so much. (And of course with that new AccuFit digital measurement focus picture technology thing, it's much more accurate.) Plus, if you're like me and enjoy the finer things in life and name brands galore, you expect to pay a pretty penny for these babies. I've also noticed that both the Pearlridge and Ala Moana stores carry some different frames.. (name brand ones). I bought these Chanel frames a couple years ago from Pearlridge bc Ala Moana didn't get them in. Strange, but I'm glad I was able to scoop them up. This is a quote by an employee named MARIO "WHEN YOU WALK INTO THIS STORE IT IS IMPLIED THAT YOU ARE PURCHASING DISPLAY FRAMES". I would give this store no stars if possible. I wasted 3 hours of my day making a purchase only to get a refund cause they couldn't follow through on getting me a NEW pair of frames.I wouldn't recommend spending your hard earned money at a company that doesn't disclose important information. If you buy frames from the store they will be the ones off of the display shelf. This means the frames you are purchasing could have been tainted by all the different people trying them on (stretching them out) or by the kids that play with them(putting scratches on them). So if your frame breaks after a few months this is probably why. Also the employee Mario who wasn't even the one helping me needs to learn what customers service is. He literally got into a full blown argument (it got really loud and there were customers that walked out because of it) with me at the front counter trying to justify why they sold me the display frames without disclosing that's what I was purchasing. This is when he told me "it should be implied when you walk in to the store that you are buying display frames." They won't be getting my service or anyone I know service either. I used to go to LensCrafters exclusively for my prescription eyeglass purchases, but the past few years I've opted for InSpecs followed by Costco Optical. The main reason for this is that LensCrafters is EXPENSIVE. Quality & fast? Yes. However, if you want the designer frames with fancy thin lenses it always seemed to cost well over $500. For that reason, I haven't purchased anything from LensCrafters in a long time. So what is this rating for? I went in earlier today to get adjustments made on a pair of eyeglasses (D&G frame bought online & lenses done by Costco) and my non-Rx Yves Saint Laurent sunglasses. LensCrafters carries D&G glasses, so I figured they probably wouldn't give me a hard time about getting a free adjustment done on those--even if I hadn't purchased the frames from them. However, they definitely don't sell YSL sunglasses (as far as I know), so it was pretty obvious that I hadn't purchased my sunglasses from them. I was fully prepared to have to grovel to get them to make the adjustments. I was pleasantly surprised that they didn't even ask where I purchased either pair. I found this more surprising, since I do realize that it is a bit of a liability issue for them to attempt to repair glasses that weren't purchased there for free, at the risk that they could potentially break them during the repair. Mario was the sales person attending to me, and he really took his time getting the adjustments down just right--especially for my prescription glasses that I had fallen asleep while wearing one too many times. They were so loose, that they fell off anytime I tilted my head even slightly downwards. I walked away very impressed with the service offered (without charge) and most of all--without hassle. I really thought my glasses were beyond repair with how loose and wide the frame had bent out. It's pretty amazing what they can do with their tools and heat warmer. I've had glasses since I was 10, I'm now 23. You can do the math:) I've worn both glasses and contacts since I was 14 and have gotten my prescriptions through my optometrist, Wal-Mart, Costco, and Sam's. Let me just say LensCrafters has the BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE AND SELECTION EVER! I thought I had to go somewhere else to get my contact prescription filled but I was able to go up to the desk, they took my license, typed in my prescription and done! They even asked if I'd like it shipped to my house-- FREE of charge! How convenient! Their selection of glasses is massive- Prada, Tiffany & Co, Coach, Michael Kors, Versace, and the list goes on. I was just browsing around when Chan (C pronounced as an S) came up to me within a minute and asked if I needed assistance. She showed me the brands where I could max out my insurance and make the most of my benefit. My dad's plan is new, many places still don't know about it. LensCrafters knew without me even explaining which made my experience even better! Their technology is so advanced. They take pictures of you so you can see how the glasses look on and they use AccuFit to fit your glasses properly. If they happen to have your lens in stock they can have it filled within an hour! Unfortunately, they didn't have mine, but it only took 4 days! Talk about efficient. They may be a more pricey but I will definitely be filling all my prescription at LensCrafters from now on! read more

Walked into the store at Pearlridge midweek miday (Wednesday @ 2pm). The receptionist for the optometrists didn't seem to care what was going on in the store even though there was only one other family in the store besides us. She was deeply involved with whatever was on her smartphone. Finally, another person noticed us and started to assist us when the receptionist (first female) noticed me directly in front of her. Again, her attitude reflected indifference. I asked if they could take a walk-in for two children. It took her a while to answer the question even though she wasn't consulting with any type of schedule or anything. Just seemed to pull the answers out of the air. After filling out initial paperwork (which she interrupted intermittently asking for other pertinent information; which should have been mentioned in the paperwork in the first place; but not my place to criticize the procedures at this establishment), my first child was taken into the examination offices. The doctor's assistant taking all the measurements and calibrations for the eyes, was very nice and cordial. She seemed like an over-protective aunty trying to get kids to listen to her into doing specific things, without explaining why she was doing what she was doing (does that make sense? Hope so.). The doctor was very nice and seemed very cordial to my children (maybe because I was in the examining room). Nonetheless, very professional, caring. The best part of this review however, is the person who would be dispensing the actual eyewear. His name was Chris (aka Superman), and was very experienced in what he was doing. He was professional, funny and just overall a very customer-oriented person. He told us what he was doing and explained it very thoroughly especially to my children (not just me). We asked why he was aka Superman, and it seemed to have a story about how fast he picked up on the duties in the store even though he was a noob. He was very pro-active in getting the glasses selected for my children (this may have more to do with any type of commission he was making; but still yet, it was professionally done). Chris told us how long it would take to make the glasses (about an hour), and we came back to the store @ 45 minutes and he was ready with the glasses (2). Of course, he noticed us walk into the store when no one else did (even though there were only 2 other people besides us). There were more workers than actual customers in the store. If it wasn't for Chris, I would have rated this review much lower than it's worth. I don't know if the staff is just overworked, but this establishment may be over-rated and over-priced if it wasn't for workers like Chris, IMHO. read more

I really really enjoyed getting my glasses today. I went in yesterday (07/27) to see if i could do a walk in appt real quick before i went to pick up my sister from work. That was a bust as they were pretty busy so i made an appt for the day after. Came in on 07/28 and filled out my paperwork. My appt was at 12p but there was a long wait for the doctor and i didnt see him until about 115pm(ish) BUT to be honest he was the only doctor i think and he was trying to finish as fast as possible. I didnt mind though because the girl that helped me(i totally forgot her name) was so personable and told me honestly what she thought about glasses and gave me really good recommendations. She was patient and helped me pick a bunch of glasses and helped me narrow it down! The doctor was very nice and talkative. He was very quick about doing the examinations without seeming like he was rushing. The entire staff that i encountered was very nice and seemed to really enjoy doing their jobs. I actually got my glasses in less than an hour, it felt like only half an hour after my examination my glasses were ready! Amazing! Only rated 4 stars because of the wait but i deff will go back to lenscrafters in the future! read more

Don't go during your lunch hour. I don't know what it was, but there were 4 or 5 people in front of me and they must have all had long questions because I waited 45 minutes before it was my turn. I saw two ladies taking care of the sign in sheet that included repairs (I just needed a lens screwed back in). Good thing I have an understanding boss who allowed me to come back to work after my glasses got fixed. The staff was nice and made sure I had signed in. Also, the map on their website pointed me to the wrong side of Pearlridge Uptown. The map pointed me to where Borders used to be. The store is actually right outside of Macy's. Not sure if that has anything to do with the store or not though. read more

These people will just give you the run around. (I will say that there was one really nice associate (Chris?) who was extremely helpful and nice when we looked around. However after that, everyone else we encountered were rude and unhelpful.) We went in almost two weeks ago to purchase one pair of glasses we were told they would arrive by last Thursday or Friday. Ok great. Friday comes along and no phone call. We contact them and they tell us it'll be ready on Monday because they don't ship on the weekends. They also told us that the order wasn't even submitted until a few days AFTER we paid. It is now Wednesday, and still no glasses. Now I'm being told that the glasses will arrive "maybe tomorrow, maybe Friday. They're in transit coming from Georgia". Not very helpful. Be prepared to call multiple times cause no one ever answers the phone, and don't be surprised if you're put on hold for an excessive amount of time. I definitely won't be coming back. read more

On Saturday the guy pulled a "BLACK" pair and said he'd put them on hold. He quoted us a price with a 15% military discount. We told him we'd be back Monday. Can be back on Monday the guy wasn't in and they couldn't find the frames. They tried calling him no answer. After about 30 min, they offered to hold the lens and when the guy came in at 1330 he could call my husband. Later that day the guy called and said they only had the pewter not black. Ugh!!! Oh well. Hubby w end ahead paid and they gave him an additional 5% off for the inconvenience. I finally got them today. They said if he's needed to adjust them just have him come in. DON'T GO!!! The office was very clean and the people were so nice BUT they did procedures/tests that were unnecessary and, known to them, NOT covered by insurance! I got a bill in the mail for what was supposed to be a standard annual eye exam. According to my insurance it was not so standard. I asked questions. I thought I was well informed. I didn't look up every test they were doing because I believed what I was told that it was ALL COVERED. It clearly stated on my insurer's website the test they performed was not covered but I didn't think I needed to ask about each individual part of the exam. So it comes down to this: either this office is SNEAKY or STUPID. They knowingly do a "Standard annual eye exam" and don't disclaim that insurance will not cover parts OR they don't know how to read/relay current insurance coverages when preparing an "estimate". I will not say I am totally innocent in this matter because I'm not. I should have asked about EVERY movement they made. I should have picked through the procedure with a fine tooth comb comparing it to my insurer's website. But I trusted them when they said it was ALL covered. I trusted them; MY MISTAKE! read more

Disappointed... asked if they participated with VSP, was told "yes." Wrong, they accept VSP which is not the same. Purchased two pairs to get 40% off second pair. Because I thought they participated with VSP I made the first pair the more expensive one. Should have made it the 40% off second pair since the discount would have been higher. Clerk could have helped with this but she'd been with Lenscrafters only 3 months... THEN - they added nose pads to the pair I wanted and ordered my glasses. When I went in to pick them up, the frames didn't fit right. Found out the ordered pair came with nose pads so the one I was fitted with which were being held on the side for me were put back in the shelf. They swapped out the lenses but I didn't notice that this scratched the UV protection off the lenses near the nose pads until I got home... They tried to sell me insurance in case my glasses needed any adjustments or repairs. I asked, "so I can't even bring them in for tightening?" Response was I could, for up to 30 days... The frames loosened up too quickly, and the glasses are too loose. (Cheaper pair). The more expensive pair that came with nose pads are holding up better. Staff are nice, polite, customer service oriented, but slow... ...after my experience I will not be returning. I paid way more than I expected to, they take a long time. I should have completed the survey they emailed me but I was "done" with Lenscrafters by this time. read more

Went in just to get a replacement screw for one of my nose pads on my prescription glasses today. To my surprise the kind woman who greeted me said it was not a problem and even offered me a new set of nose pads. All for free! This is my 3rd year with Lenscrafters and I am very pleased with the customer service and Dr. Tsumoto! First off, Dr. Tsumoto and staff are very knowledgeable and friendly. I let them know of my concerns and Dr. Tsumoto will have an answer right away. What I like about him is he not only relies on the new technology, but he also double checks doing the "old school" method. I feel thats a really good plus!!! Now for the customer service when selecting my frames, I've never had a problem with them. They seem to give me their honest opinion and they always to try to find discounts because the amount of glasses I need to have (2 sunglasses, 2 prescriptions). I live on the Big Island so I schedule in advance and I make sure I book my appointment with Dr. Tsumoto. Yes it is pricey. However, I don't have to worry about my prescriptions being off. I tried working with an optometrist here in Hilo. However, I got so frustrated after several attempts for them to correct the prescription!!!! read more

Had a wonderful time at LensCrafters Pearlridge today. I walked in and within a minute, a saleswoman approached me. She was kind, informative, but gave me my space. She also gave me the name of another associate that was there (Thomas) who then made his introductions. Based on the selections I had collected to try on, he helped me get some photos so that I could compare different looks all at once on a Computer screen. Genius!! This helped me a lot in my decision. I must compliment Thomas on helping me. I'm pretty picky but he was relentless in making sure that I was satisfied. He educated me on promotions that are currently in place, and helped me with financing options. He also had a good eye for style, which is hard to find! I ended up getting two pairs of prescription sunglasses at a great promo price. He even offered to expedite my pickup time which is awesome Great experience! I love the people who work there, when I come in everyone gushes over how cute my daughter is. There is no questioning that they are nice people. I do however, question the (expensive) glasses they sold me a while back. Now that I'm looking into it, the other prada glasses I have seen online of the same model have an extremely clear an legible logo on the side. Mine is very distorted. Went in 4/28/2019. Besides my family of 4, there was maybe 1-3 other customers. For a few minutes, two male workers passed my family and I not once but, twice. No greet, hello NOTHING! A young lady eventually asked us if we're in need of some help. We eventually ordered glasses. Oakley's. Order should be here within a week, sometimes I'll take just 3 days. Super! My child, who has Asbergers, a form of Autism and glasses that are broken were stoked to finally get a NEW one, let alone Oakley's. Eight days past, no call, no update. So, I call. Not exactly the service I envisioned. A manager of "7 years, Mario" proceeded to tell me how I got the wrong information and he'll make sure to talk with the representative who helped us. Along w/ telling me who he his and his position. Mind you, no apology whatsoever. But, continues to tell me the correct information and wait time, 10-14 days, along with having a talk with the young lady that serviced us. Thirteen days later, text comes in. Glasses available for pickup. Yes! After a brief wait Lauren greeted us. Due to some tagging error along with the initial representative being fairly new, wrong information being told, Lauren did not hesitate to LISTEN, show understanding, and absolutely have outstanding PROFESSIONALISM! From me not wanting to EVER return, I'll definitely come back because of her and Manager, "Roger."He called me up, apologized for the not so great service and assured me that he'll be the one to call me once our new order is in. The eye doctor was nice and did a good exam...they charged me $35 extra for a procedure the look in my eye for macular diseases that I was later told I didn't need...its been 4 months since my glasses exam (1 month past the 3 month mark) so it will cost me an additional $400 vs $200 for a contact fitting?!?! Robbery!!! I have requested our records for 2 months still do not have them...the sales people clearly work on commission and see hella pushy and if you say no they "lose prescription and act like you are an inconvenience!!! I CAN SEE AGAIN!!!! I don't think anyone knows how happy & excited I am now that I can see again (with glasses, that is). It's been four years since I last got an eye exam and I've been using the same glasses ever since. And yes, over the years my vision has gotten worse. I mean, all I do is stare at a computer screen all day at work so it has gotten a lot worse. I finally went to get an eye exam with my optometrist and got my prescription, went to the optical shop that my insurance takes and shortly found out that I haven't been qualified for vision through my job because I didn't make enough hours. Being the fact that I needed glasses NOW, I decided to just pay out of pocket and went into LensCrafters. We were greeted as soon as we walked in by Roger who ended up helping me. I took forever to browse through the different frames that they have here, name brand and all....and I mean I took forever cause I'm VERY indecisive, haha. He kind of got an idea on what kind of style I liked, then went ahead and picked out a few for me to try out. And guess what...I ended up liking one of them so I went ahead with it. He briefly went over the different kinds of lens that they have, and I opted for the one with the anti-glare and anti-scratch cause I remember him telling me that it's the best one they have for me, cause it'll help me not strain my eyes as much when I'm on the computer...so being the fact that I stare at a computer screen all day, I was sold! Especially with the fact that it was only $60 difference for that lens and the other one, even more I was sold, haha. I figure I might as well get it since I'm gonna be using these glasses most of the time! But Roger was not pushy at all, listened to everything I said, was very knowledgeable of what they had to offer, patient, and very friendly! But while I was being helped by Roger, I couldn't help but to overhear Carlos (another employee) interact with his customers and he was just as good! So I say that if anything, Roger and Carlos is the go-to guys over here! Luckily, my prescriptions were simple enough and was told that my glasses would be ready in about an hour, and that they would text me when it was ready for pickup. COOL! I mean, it really shows that technology is really steppin' their game up! So my fiancé and I went ahead and ate dinner, then did a little shopping (but more window shopping) as we waited, then a little over an hr later, we were notified that they were ready. Roger went ahead to see if they fit me the best they could, and I was SO happy that I could see again...like I could read everything that was across the store. I also opted in the insurance which is DEAAALS! So yeah, it tends to get pricey (especially if you're like me and got name brand...which I think I deserved) but so worth it, they give the gift of sight!..with glasses, of course, haha! read more

The place is absolutely amazing. They have the best staff working here with the greatest attitudes. They're extremely sincere and helpful and will do whatever they can to help you! If you don't like this place you're just extremely picky and have a silver spoon stuck up somewhere unpleasant.
