Before considering purchasing a Lennar home I strongly suggest you visit the Wyndham Hill development and speak to the folks on Lynx Creek Circle. This is where I and my daughter purchased a new home. While the sales team was great, the construction quality is, at best barely acceptable. Finally, and most importantly, the customer "Care" is pathetic. Following is just a partial list of the problems we have/are having and the response from the customer care management:
1, Fence installed by Lennar warped so badly we had to tie it closed and block it up all winter. Response from customer care: We should not have had a fence installed until the ground settled! Still waiting on this to be repaired.
2, Front step cracked across the entire slab and second step settled to a 25 degree slope. Response from customer care rep Ellen Ladley; The area was mud jacked and is now within tolerance of warranty. She then asked if we had a copy of the warranty.
3. Almost the entire block of Lynx Creek Circle required regrading due to settling issues. Talk about a mess. Both our front and back yard had to be regraded and sodded. Our air conditioner unit was slanting due to the settling so during the grading instead of leveling the area and placing a pad for the unit, their fix was to pile rocks under it, We were told this was within tolerance as well.
4. Also during the regrading work my daughter was told by Ms. Ladley, that due to us not winterizing the sprinkler system they had to put in a new $600.00 manifold. My daughter reminded her that we closed in November and she had the note that Ms. Ladley had provided us stating all winterization had already been completed by Lennar. Ms. Ladley denied she ever provided this info. That is until my daughter showed her the note! After this issue I contacted Ms. Ladley boss Vincent Malone to not only discuss my concerns with the warranty but also the treatment from his customer service rep. Well if anything they are consistent across the line. Mr. Malone did not even bother to call me back!
Since then, there are numerous other issues we continue to experience e.g. our sprinkler system wired incorrectly so it is inoperable, Water lines reversed in our upstairs bath the regrading poorly done.
Again, please reconsider buying from this builder. We have purchased 6 new construction homes in the past from many different builders. All but this one were quick to respond to issues in a professional and courteous manner.
