What is a roti & doubles place you ask? We saw other places that seemed to be similar with just a different name. We chose this one based on the good rating and also because it was in close proximity to where we were staying. They have a deal of buy 5 doubles get 1 free, so we did that. We ordered them with chana aloo in them- a sweet chickpea curry with a little sweetness to it. Quite perfectly hit the spot. So what is a double, its 2 rotis with some filling in between, a roti sandwich essentially. Will definitely keep this place on the list for future visits.

Standard Roti. Size was comparable to other Roti places. There was an option to add extra toppings. 2 toppings Roti was $9.99. There were different level of spices. I truly believe I can handle spicy foods, but I don't play with Caribbean scotch bonnet pepper sauce so I ended up getting medium. The kick was just enough for a few sweat beads to start rolling, but not overwhelming to the point where I'm in tears. I would rank this place three stars, but the pepper sauce bumped it to a four.

Food was really good and the ambiance and seating was pleasant. Spacious place and was not too busy.

Wow curry goat roti was great lots of flavour, only medium so I needed some more spice at $17 it isn't cheap but it's big enough that half will do. The chicken lunch special is the spot at $10, the other picture here is doubles very soft and flavourful, has some sweet heat in it to make it really nice. Lena ur amazing.

This gem that has some serious Caribbean flare. Jerk chicken, Roti And doubles are famous here. The lunch crowd can be out the door here but its worth it. Portions are big and price is fair. Love the hot sauce. Must try if you are craving Carib food

You know that lame review that starts... If I could give zero stars I would...? If I could give 10 stars i would! Drove 22 minutes to try this, worth it. Alongside a spot in Scarborough; best boneless curry chicken in Ontario! Amazing staff and def worth checking out!

Wow. Delicious. Yup had 4 doubles for lunch. They were huge! 3 would have been enough but I ate all 4 anyway. I sit here in my truck, finished and my mouth mouth is burning with scotch bonnet pepper sauce. Incredible. Recommend

The food wasn't horrible but I wasn't impressed either I visited on a Friday around lunch time the dining room was full and there was a little bit of a line but the cashier was quick so I didn't wait long to place my order It took less than 5 minutes for my doubles to come out after I ordered them for me I like my doubles a little bit on the runny side and the Curry wasn't that runny I didn't like the dough it lacked flavor to me overall if someone were to give it to me I'd eat it but I don't think I would go back and spend my own money on it

I think this place is terribly over priced and the portions are very small. I definitely would try one of the many other west indian restaurants in Brampt

    Baigan

Honestly I'm not sure why I tried this food again, I think was hoping for the best. Like are there even Trinis cooking this food anymore. I placed an order for a veggie platter, ordered seim, didn't get any, instead got 2 portions of baigan choka without them asking me. Tbh the platter is lacking. I also ordered a dhalpuri and bone curry chicken. The dhalpuri was poor a little thick, not sure who made it. The curry chicken was days old, they did not cook this food today, the meat was hard and stale and disgusting. Again not pleased with this place. Are there any real Trini places left. also does anyone use our curry anymore.

That's literally all the sauce there is from the goat curry. Instagram.com/toastedbao for more foodie pics

Authentic, delicious West Caribbean food. Definitely worth a try. The rotis were huge and the ox tail was so tender.

The only thing that I didn't like the first time around, and didn't like this time around either, was the lighting. It was much too dark in the restaurant, even though it was daytime. We were even sitting at a table near the bar, which had potlights however, it was still dark. We were served by Nimrat, whom brought over our menus, and allowed us ample time to order our items. I had settled on butter chicken, with a side order of regular naan, and plain rice. The food took a bit long to arrive however, since there were seven in our group, I understood why the food took longer to prepare. However, once the food came, I was very happy with how delicious everything was! The butter chicken came in a large dish, which was placed on top of a small pot with a flame inside, which kept the butter chicken hot during my entire visit; this was a great addition to the meal! The naan was an excellent accompaniment, along with the plain rice; everything was well-prepared, with the perfect amount of flavouring. It also wasn't spicy, which is perfect for my taste buds; this chef definitely knows how to cook an excellent meal! Nimrat checked on us regularly, filling our glasses with water, and taking away any dishes that we had finished with. Even the owner came by to greet us, and ask how we were enjoying everything. Overall, this place had excellent food, with wonderful service provided by Nimrat, and beautiful décor. The only thing that I didn't like was the lighting however, I would definitely come back.

This place opens at 5 pm so no lunch .... open for late night dinner till 2 am. Went in , restaurant had an overwhelming bouquet of Indian food , after few minutes felt like their exhaust was not working and all kitchen smoke was flowing in . Not good for dine in but we resisted n ordered chicken tikka masala n dal makhani with garlic butter naan .First the servers are not dine in friendly as we ordered the server said " u will have to wait for 50 min as we are too busy with take out orders " , though the restaurant was almost empty with 2 tables occupied . We were patient n waited . To our good luck food arrived in 38 minutes . Vooooooo yeah ! Food looked appetizing , tried the crispy butter garlic naan with dal makhni n chicken tikka masala . To my surprise the food was tasty . Though it lacked authenticity but it was a great creation by the chefs toward the success of the gourmet ! Most irritating n uncalled in the whole experience was the lack of oxygen in the restaurant to breathe with all the smoke around . Though the food experience was good but I may not visit again due to unhealthy ambience . 3 stars for the food !!!!

This time I had the Methi Malai Matar and a Sundried Tomato Olive Naan, and Masala Chaas to drink. My mom had the Paneer Butter Masala and a Garlic Naan, and we ordered the Fire Chicken to take back for my dad. The food was once again very good. The methi malai matar was flavourful without being very hot/spicy and the peas tasted very fresh! I ended up eating a lot of the gravy of my mom's butter paneer too - I started with just a taste, but then she had a lot left over at the end and I couldn't help but finish it. The gravy was nice and tangy, with a pleasant, rich mouthfeel. My mom ordered this she asked the waitress for the mildest paneer dish on the menu (we weren't given the option to specify spice level, but we didn't try, so if you need to, it could still be worth asking), but it still had a bit more of a bite than my dish, which I would have described as relatively mild but not spiceless. She was still able to handle it fine - her spice preference is low but not zero - it was just spicy to her. I didn't try the fire chicken but my dad spoke very highly of it and it smelled amazing. He also said, as you would expect, that it was quite spicy. My mom and I agreed the naans were just amazing. I think she said it was probably the best she'd had and for me there's been too many good ones to say for sure, but it was definitely a contender, and I remember last time we were all also in awe of the bread. They get it perfectly crispy without sacrificing softness. I also really liked the sundried tomato and olive flavour which I haven't seen before at other restaurants, and it complimented both of our entrees well. My masala chaas was really good too - it was a little spicy but still went down very smoothly and was a refreshing compliment to my meal. Even though it did have a little kick, it would still temper the heat well if you ordered a really spicy dish. I do wish they had metal or at least paper straws instead of plastic - (they're pretty much standard in Vancouver now, so I'm a little spoiled) - I would skip the straw where possible but I ended up needing it here to get all the froth, and I didn't think to bring my own. The staff was very polite, but not as attentive as we really needed. When we ordered our meals, we told our waitress we were going to place a takeout order later, but she disappeared after bringing our food and never came back to check on us, so we had to get the attention of another waitress to order the takeout when we were about halfway done eating. It was ready before we were done though, which seemed quick. We also never had our waters refilled. I think the prices are okay for the quality. The naans are big and the mains are reasonably-sized. For me, an entire naan and an entire entree (plus the chaas) was a filling but not heavy meal, so there's room to add appetizers if you have bigger appetites and/or want to go all out. One thing that is puzzling to me is that their online menu and takeout menu is significantly cheaper than what you pay to dine-in. On the online menu, you can choose the size of the entrees, and they're all cheaper than the price on the menu in the actual restaurant, but my "small" from last time was about the same as the dine-in portion, and if you order online, a small Methi Malai Matar is $11.5, but the dine-in price was $19.5. It's worth paying the extra few dollars for the dine-in experience in my view, but this is a huge difference and they should make their menus consistent across web and physical. The takeout is definitely the way to go if you want a high-quality meal for a lower price.
