This small plant shop is so beautiful and peaceful. I was invited by my sister to attend one of their Plant Bingo sessions. Yes, bingo, and the prize is plants! I was immediately mystified by how good it smells, how relaxing the space is, how different nearly every piece of item is and how Lena quite literally will use anything and everything as a plant pot! Every person that works for the plant shop is super friendly and knowledgeable and willing to help. Lena herself is also super nice! She truly cares for her plants and the beauty in how large some of them grow is amazing. It's a plant shop/thrift store and I always end up buying something every time I go! I'm surprised by the 1 star reviews. I met Lena and she was very professional, helpful and had a good sense of humor. In my honest, genuine confession, I've killed bamboo and a cactus. Lena had faith I could do it and stated that she would give me all the steps to keep the plant alive. I have little faith in myself but Lena felt confident in my abilities. I didn't purchase any today as I was too in awe of the entire place. I want to live in that coffee shop/floral shop. It is so relaxing and beautiful. Lena's Flowers is a community hot spot. There is so much going on in this quaint shop and the adjoining wedding shop. If you need anything related to not only flowers, but plants. This includes baby plants, full grown plants, planters, plant education on the spot, and most importantly beautiful flower arrangements. I purchased a funeral and an anniversary arrangement (accidentally deleted that picture). Be prepared to spend some time looking around. I forgot to mention excellent customer service and team work. My mom was in the hospital at the time, and I paid $124 because I specifically chose this arrangement for the roses, chrysanthemums, and gerbera daisies. What was delivered looked very different from the photo and included several substitutions, including carnations, which I would not have chosen. Of course my mom was happy to receive flowers while she was in the hospital, but as the person who ordered and paid for them, I knew it wasn't what I selected. For that price, I expected it to look much closer to the advertised arrangement. After seeing other reviews mentioning similar substitutions, I felt it was worth sharing my experience as well. read more

I would give 0 zero stars. Extremely disappointed. I ordered the Baby Boy arrangement from their website with Blue and White flowers. They delivered Orange and White, and didn't even sign my name on the card. When I spoke with the manager she was confrontational and rude. Her options to rectify the issue was to redeliver an arrangement or go to the house of the new parents and newborn baby and take back the incorrect arrangement and issue a refund. Who in their right mind would take back an arrangement from new parents who are trying to sleep, and have no idea of the situation to begin with. When the new arrangement was delivered the employee said "Is this one better, since you were not happy with the first one?" Why would you even say that to someone! Just disgusted all around with this shop. Horrible customer service. The original excuse for the orange flowers was that the florist was busy, but they had left for the day. I ordered a birthday bouquet for my wife and it was a total letdown. The arrangement that was delivered looked nothing like the picture or description I chose. The flowers were sparse, the colors were off, and they replaced the vase/base I selected with a cheap-looking teddy bear base that looked ridiculous. I called the shop right away and spoke directly to the owner (Lena) to explain how disappointed we were. She refused to refund my money unless I returned everything. I told her that was fine because the whole thing was garbage anyway. When I went in to return it, I was shocked to see her young kids running around the shop and one of them was even helping with flower arrangements. It felt completely unprofessional. For the prices they charge, this was unacceptable. Poor quality, bad communication, and zero accountability. Athena at Lena's is WONDERFUL!! She took such great care to make sure our wedding was perfect! She didn't miss a single detail, she met with us before the wedding and again the week of and captured everything we wanted. Our wedding was absolutely beautiful! She has a very calming way about her which made our wedding day so comfortable. We didn't have to worry about a thing. Our wedding had a lot of elements that required a wedding planner who could see our vision. Our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception were all outdoors (without electricity nearby), and it required a lot of coordination. We had a December wedding, which meant the daytime temps were comfortable, but the evening was chilly. Athena and her team set up the most magical setting for our reception, we had heaters in all the right places, and plenty of lighting to make our reception feel magical. I have to admit, picking flowers and choosing colors for my wedding wasn't my favorite task at first. I knew I loved sunflowers and natural colors, so after burying myself deep within Pinterest boards, I had some inspiration. I brought some photos to an in-person meeting with Liz and wow - all I can say is that she just "got" me. She understood my vision and was patient, even when I changed the number of corsages and boutonnieres the week before the wedding (gotta love last minute wedding plans). What was even more amazing is that I was able to rent a really beautiful wooden arch with white drapery as our backdrop for our outdoor ceremony - it was so nice going through one company. I have nothing but good things to say about them and when I needed to add another couple of items, guess who didn't nickel and dime me - Liz. I can't speak for the other reviews about not having stuffed enough bouquets - mine was perfect, beautiful, and full, as were my bridesmaids. Did I mention my bouquet had succulents in it? Would not recommend this vendor to anyone who is unfamiliar with florals or wedding industry. Was made to feel high maintenance and demanding when only trying to understand what was needed from us and doing our best to be clear in our communication while also juggling the million other things one does when planning a wedding. Definitely not a good feeling to be talked down to by a vendor who should be kind and patient to make your day special when you're stressed enough as it is! Their lack of internal communication and organization got projected onto us which felt unfair and unkind. Be fully prepared and knowledgeable on your own before booking to avoid this. Special mention to Tony though. Tony was exceptional. He stepped in to save the day at one point and was patient, concise, organized, and empathetic. 10/10 for Tony. Easily one of my favorite floral shop iv ever been to. Iv quickly became a regular here when I moved to Gilbert. I grew up with my mom being a florist and being a Lena's takes me right back to my mom chopping stems with a smile on her face. Every bouquet you get from here is 100% made with love. What can I say out of all my venders for the day of my wedding Lena's flowers, rentals and catering was the only company that I had no complaints about! If I could give more than a 5 star I would. The catering was amazing all our guest could talk about was how yummy or good it was. my rental set up went over and beyond what I could ever imagine and as for my flowers I can't even put into words how beautiful everything was. The entire process for me planning my wedding was extremely easy when I scheduled my first appointment with Lena she walked me through everything and what to expect and everything was reasonably priced within my budget. I don't think my wedding day would be what it was if it wasn't for her and the vision she put together for me. I've seen the shop several times passing through downtown Gilbert and always told myself I would go in. When this opportunity presented itself I honestly was excited. I ordered flowers here for my wedding as well as some eucalyptus to decor our tables. When our flowers were dropped off she was very rushed and did not give us time to look over everything. I paid for enough eucalyptus to cover 12 tables but was only given enough to cover 6 tables. When I called I was sent straight to voicemail, I left a message, and no one ever got back to me. They also said they'd put up the piece for the arch and they didn't. We rushed over to Trader Joe's to get enough to cover the rest of the tables. Overall, very poor customer services.
